Horrific is a card game - a character-based strategy card game in the genre of classic horror. You use sneaking suspicion (instead of blasting brutality) and oblique moves to explore open-ended strategies, master your plans, and outwit your opponent...

Horrific features new and unusual mechanices, designed to evoke the atmosphere of suspenseful horror. Every single move, even discarding, affects everything else in the game. No move is a throwaway!

Doktor Deck: She's always been intrigued with the prospect of perfection, and believes a masterful Undead is the way to achieve that!

She takes only the worst cases. She is so kind to take those that are too poor to pay her fees. She only asks that you let others know of her kindness. The Doktor knows that the townspeople really don't understand the perfection she intends to create, so she must have the utmost care with her ministrations. Her reputation has at least been bolstered by her kindness to the less fortunate. The townspeople don't care what she does with the unfortunates, after all. Already one of the local sopranos is begging to get an audience with the Doktor to cure a limp she's been hiding. The Doktor's plans will be rewarded with new patrons and patients, as long as that imposter doesn't intrude too quickly. There has been someone prowling the docks at night, calling himself - of all things - the Lord of Bones. He's been trying to encroach on her clinic's business with some success. He doesn't understand the noble goals the Doktor pursues and she will not tolerate his attempts at sabotage. Her minions are growing and her research is progressing...

The Doktor is a fairly straightforward deck with high Victory Conditions: she needs Trust 11 and enough undead minions that their Value totals 30. She has help getting there, though. Alone of all the characters, she can Heal opponent's minions - unlike Liberate or Resurrect, she gains Trust from this play! The Doktor, knowing the value of a strong lair for her experiments, also has Protect cards: as long as just one of these is in her Reserve, no opponent can touch her undead. Her weak point? She has less to interfere with opponent's plans than other characters, so she can do less to stop someone else from winning.
