Horrific is a card game - a character-based strategy card game in the
genre of classic horror. You use sneaking suspicion (instead of
blasting brutality) and oblique moves to explore open-ended
strategies, master your plans, and outwit your opponent...
Horrific features new and unusual mechanices, designed to evoke
the atmosphere of suspenseful horror. Every single move, even
discarding, affects everything else in the game. No move is a
throwaway!
Dela Deck: A nomadic magician, using her "gypsy" wiles to gain a
bit of power here, a touch of influence there, and a scapegoat to
cement her control...
The town is quiet, and D la is ready to make her move. Vladimir
thinks he was smart to donate funds to the Bishop's food kitchen.
But she knows that the Bishop will be very eager to know why a
certain young lady is missing. D la has her ways to spread the truth
to the right ears - she's had to counter enough smears on her own
good name. After all, one has to stay in business. Every
businesswoman knows that to stay alive you need a small dash of
mystique and misdirection. This afternoon D la will be the talk of
the tea party that a certain influential and wealthy heiress is hosting.
The Heiress just needed a nudge in the right direction. Then she'd
rid the town of that over dressed pasty fop for good.
D la is one of the most complicated decks. She has the greatest
variety of cards, which gives her wonderful flexibility, but one glaring
weak point: she doesn't have as many cards of many types as other
decks, so it's harder for her to overcome determined opposition.
However, she has Conceal cards, which allows her to lay other cards
face-down to her Reserve; a Gypsy Curse, which causes an opponent
to lose Trust based on a minion's Influence; and Deny cards, which
can be played out of turn to cancel an opponent's play. D la is a
tough, wily opponent.
D la's Victory Conditions are: Trust at least five higher than one
other opponent, and enough living minions to total 20 Power and 15
Influence.
