Animal companions, familiars, and mounts—these aren't just class features, they're your friend and with Pathfinder Player Companion: Animal Archive, they just got a whole lot more awesome! In this volume, you'll get notes on how what magic items will fit your best buddy, which animals are favored by what races (and for what purpose), and new animal tricks like bombard, flank, get help, and throw rider! Three new archetypes are also included—the carnivalist, huntmaster, and mad dog are all great new options for people who want their animal friends as more than a forgotten line on their character sheet. We also provide a complete list of standard familiars (and their sources), new equipment, pricing for mounts both common and exotic, new feats like Familiar Spell, magic items such as the circlet of speaking, and new animal companions like llamas and familiars like platypuses! One of the new exciting options we offer in Animal Archive is the idea of animal archetypes, allowing you to tweak animal companions for specific purposes—guarding, racing, serving, even totem guide!

Packed full of new material and an excellent reference guide, you won't want to miss Pathfinder Player Companion: Animal Archive—especially if you're playing a druid or a ranger! I like the huntmaster archetype for cavaliers particularly. It is similar to the hound master from RPGSS 2011 in themes and ideas while opening it up to even more possibilities (like using birds).
