Toy Vault releases a new plush from the movie Labyrinth!

It has been a really long time since we blogged about a product from Toy Vault. In the early days of paizo.com, Toy Vault's line of plushes was a constant best seller, with several new plushes arriving every few weeks. But in the last few years, Toy Vault has slowed down the release schedule quite a bit, so I was surprised to see their new Labyrinth: The Worm plush available from our distributor!

The Worm: 'Allo.
Sarah: Did you say... "Hello?"
The Worm: No, I said "'allo," but that's close enough.

In the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth, starring David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly, and an assortment of Jim Henson's fantastical creatures, the Worm and his missus live among the twists and turns that make up the Labyrinth. They spend their days sipping tea and keeping poor, lost travelers from taking a wrong turn and ending up in the court of the Goblin King. This adorably enchanting limited edition measures about 9 inches tall, 13 inches long, and 5 inches wide. Don't end up in the court of the Goblin King—order the Worm now!

>>For the uninitiated, or the nostalgic.<<

Yep, I'm the nostalgic type.

"Things are not always what they seem in this place."

That sums up pretty well the idea of this movie that made it so fascinating to me.

Well, also it had David Bowie's best music EVER!!!

(No doubt, Mark Moreland will disagree vehemently with me about that.)

The Exchange

Great character, too expensive though. However it does remind me of Neil Gaimen's recent parody of Labrynth with sock puppets. I highly recommend it.

The Exchange

You remind me of the babe.
What babe? The babe with the power.
What power? The power of voodoo.
We do? You do.
Do what? Remind me of the babe.

Dance Magic, Dance!

I am oh so gleefully happy right now just having seen this item and remembering. Now I will restlessly seek out The Labyrinth and watch it about 20 times like a 5 year old until I tire of it.

I just watched this movie last night. The song was just about to get unstuck from my head...
Dance magic, dance!
*sigh*

My bad. I couldn't help it. I completely couldn't help it. I was overcome. Maybe it was the voodoo? No, I think I was just having a Nerdgasm.

Voodoo?

Who do?
You do!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!

You need to warn a woman before putting that right on the front page, Lisa! I gasped so hard I almost choked on my own tongue.

I know where my next paycheck is going!

You're damn right I will! While I'm a huge fan of "When the World Falls Down" and "Underground," I am not a fan of "Chilly Down" and "Magic Dance." I'm a staunch fan of the mid-70s and early 90s Bowie, though he has real gems throughout his whole career.

I could go on, but I have real work to do. Rest assured, however, that I'll be procuring one of these for myself as soon as I can.

I don't think anyone was a fan of "Chilly Down." While I saw the movie in the theatre, and adored it, if there was ever a scene where cutting it would improve the movie, it would be the one with the Fieries.

"Magic Dance" OTOH is kind of fun, but mostly because of the "hoodoo" preamble and the antics with tossing the baby.

Gee, I thought that, second to Magic Dance, Chilly Down was the catchiest song in the movie.

(There, that ought to stir up the fire of controversy.)

My sister and my second wife (not the same person!) both enjoyed the movie for David Bowie's um.... costume.
