2010HolidayCard

On the 13th Day of Christmas Paizo Gave to Me...

Celebrate Paizo's best year ever with our holiday discount code!

2010 will go down in Paizo's history books as the best year we've ever had, with industry magazine ICv2 proclaiming in October that the Pathfinder RPG is neck and neck in sales with Dungeons & Dragons! And we couldn't have done it without all of you. Your constant enthusiasm and encouragement, and your financial support, have meant the world to us.

So as a way of saying THANKS for a great 2010, we're offering you an additional 10% off one order in January! From now until the end of January 2011, you may use the promotional code "holiday11" to get 10% off your order. This is a one-time-only code, so make sure to fill your shopping cart with lots of gaming goodies before using it! And for those rules lawyers out there, it stacks with other promotions—consider it a morale bonus to your paizo.com discounts! The 10% comes off your subtotal after any other discounts have been applied—including the Pathfinder Advantage—but before shipping and taxes are added. This discount isn't valid on subscriptions, preorders, backorders, non-Paizo downloads, or Completist Publications' Star Wars collecting books—but it's valid on about 20,000 other items in the store, so go nuts!

Note that we sent many of you a holiday card that says that the discount code isn't valid until January 1... well, we decided to go ahead and start it effective immediately! Happy Holidays!

Okaaayyyy...I could have USED THIS before Christmas when I hadn't ordered my gifts already but I guess after Christmas is okay too.

It makes sense from a business perspective to give sales after the holidays when fewer people are buying.

Yes but it's not very nice to the consumers who would have appreciated the sales DURING the holiday buying season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful...it's just I could have really REALLY used that code before Christmas came.

You really aren't being very fair to Paizo with that comment. Virtually no company puts items on sale during the month of December until after Christmas has passed — not if they want to stay in business anyway. Suggesting that they somehow slighted customers by doing what every other company does simply isn't a realistic assessment of things.

Furthermore, at the very start of the holiday buying season, Paizo had a huge sale for Black Friday. Looking at my account history, I bought $204 worth of product and only paid $102. If that's not 'nice' to the customers then I don't know what is.

My only complaint about the after-Christmas sale this year is that the little cards weren't graced by my favorite iconic sorceress. Still, I can respect that some people have a thing for midgets... ;)

I will keep it simple and just say that I greatly enjoy the products that Paizo puts out, and I wish them to remain profitable so they can continue to create and sell products that I enjoy. I wish them to be very profitable so that it will encourage other companies to provide the same level of service, quality and general awesomeness.

I thought it was nice that this year the bonus stacked with existing discounts like the Pathfinder Advantage. It irked me in the past that the holiday cards were useless to people who were already getting most of their Paizo stuff directly from the manufacturer anyway. This year, its great!@

Its actually amazing that this happened given the strength of the Dungeons & Dragons brand!

This is all about how well Paizo has managed an open sourced game license relative to how poorly Hasbro manages a lot of their brands.

I still shudder when I think about what Hasbro did to Atari about 15 years ago!

Any chance of a second run of adventure path bundles? i didn't have the money before but i do now! I would also rather give my money directly to paizo instead of somewhere else were i could get them cheaper.

Lisa has been talking about reviving the bundles... but probably at a slightly lower discount than we offered on Black Friday.

My wife declared this "the coolest looking Christmas card we got this year."
