Open Design releases 5 PDF-only products for the Pathfinder RPG!

I have to admit that I missed my Perception check. You see, I frequently browse our warehouse looking for new products that might be cool for the daily store blog. However, our friends over at Open Design threw me a curveball by releasing their latest Pathfinder RPG–compatible products as PDFs, and I missed seeing them!

Advanced Feats: The Secrets of the Alchemist gives you insight into the alchemist class and the tools to make an exciting character that is a “blast” to play. This 12-page book includes a breakdown of the Alchemist class; 30 new feats for alchemists, such as Bottoms Up, Fire in the Hole, Primeval Fury, and Sundering Bomb; and Alchemist character builds: The Carpet Bomber, Mighty Mutant, and Mad Scientist! When the goblin chief asks you what’s in all those funny bottles hanging from your belt, uncork a laboratory full of whoop-ass on him!

Advanced Feats: The Witch’s Brew mixes together a cauldron full of feats and builds to create a witch character that evokes the awe and dread of medieval folklore. This 14-page book includes a breakdown of the Witch class; 30 new feats for witches including Craft Magic Tattoo, Usurp Spell and Familiar Reincarnation; and Witch character builds: arch-witch, white witch and wicked witch! Teach your enemies not to trifle with powers beyond their comprehension!

(And stay tuned in the months to come for the rest of the Advanced Feats series, which will cover the other new classes from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Advanced Player's Guide.)

The slaad have a long history in gaming, back to White Dwarf and the Fiend Folio. The Inevitables are more recent creations, but just as strange in their own way. Monster Chronicles: The Inevitable takes the tick-tock guardians of order and shows you how to deploy them in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. With insight into what makes the inevitable work (and not work), Monster Chronicles: Inevitable is positively celestial, but totally practical.

Sure, the Nightmare is the horse the bad guys ride—but it’s also intelligent, bloodthirsty and a foe to be reckoned with in its own right. Monster Chronicles: The Nightmare reinvents this fell beastie with new powers, and includes a desert variant perfect for dropping into a desert-based adventure path—or it might leave its fiery hoofprints across other kinds of deserts, such as frozen tundra and mist-shrouded moors.

Finally, the Sunken Empires: Web Compilation is an 8-page compilation of web extras for Sunken Empires, including 4 new spells; 5 magical items; 3 lost technology items; 8 special attack forms; and a new illustrated and detailed monster, the faege.

Wow, how cool :)

It's been really exciting watching the reaction to the new Advanced Feats series. Working with the Open Design team is amazing and the Pathfinder fans are incredibly welcoming and supportive.

The APG classes are rich with character and detail which make them great fun to analyze and expand upon. I just finished my first draft of Summoner's Circle. Wow is that a fun class to work with! I had to do more than a few mental contortions to wrap my mind around all the possibilities.

Here's hoping everyones got a great game lined up for the coming weekend. :)

Good Gaming,

Looks like between this and my story on the Webfiction side of things, October is turning out to be Alchemy Month. Oktoberfest? Alchtoberfest!

Of course we shouldn't leave the witches out either. It's Brewfest.

Open Design's got a great community and lots of wonderful crossover. I think it's fantastic to see the expansion into smaller PDF projects. I wonder if we'll get some micro-patronages? :D

Given the number of people asking for Advanced Feats treatment of base classes, and/or requests for mini-modules on the KQ forums, I think a mini-patronage is just a matter of time.

I should probably do a poll or open thread on it.

Summoner next, please!

The Exchange Kobold Press

Your wish is our command!

Summoner should be available before the end of October.
