Pathfinder Society Scenario #39: The Citadel of Flame (PFRPG) PDF

Of Demons and Devils!

Two new Pathfinder Society scenarios are available now!

Our Price: $3.99
Add To Cart

Demons and devils: Each could be considered the epitome of evil, but with their chaotic and lawful natures, respectively, they're vastly different from one another. This month's Pathfinder Society Scenarios explore these polar opposites.

Once home to a cult preaching self-sacrifice by immolation in order to achieve paradise, the Citadel of Flame in Qadira was thought to have been wiped out decades ago after Sarenrae dervishes led a crusade to end its morbid message. An enormous sandstorm swallowed both the citadel and the attacking army, burying both beneath hundreds of feet of sand. In Pathfinder Society Scenario #39: The Citadel of Flame, by Steven Robert, the citadel's rediscovery prompts the Pathfinder Society to send you deep into the unforgiving Meraz Desert to close the book on Qadira's most mysterious cult.

In Tim Hitchcock's Pathfinder Society Scenario #40: Hall of Drunken Heroes, something is afoot at Cayden's Hall, the carousing temple-pub in Absalom where Cayden Cailean's faithful pay homage to their Drunken Hero. Pathfinder agent Osprey and his demonologist companion send you to investigate the truth behind a long-rumored demonic lab said to exist beneath the temple-pub's sticky floors. It's up to you to find out what demons want with the Drunken Hero's largest temple. Bar fights, revelry, song, and drink await within the Hall of Drunken Heroes!

Pathfinder Companion: Dwarves of Golarion (PFRPG)

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho!

The latest Pathfinder Companion delves into the realms of the dwarves!

Add PDF: $7.99
Print Edition: Unavailable

In my first D&D campaign—back at the dawn of RPGs—my first group of adventurers were almost exclusively dwarves and elves. The years have passed and dwarves have fallen out of vogue with my current gaming group. But I bet when they get ahold of Dwarves of Golarion, our latest Pathfinder Companion, I might have one or two of the surly but stout humanoids in my next campaign!

Born ages ago in lightless caverns, the dwarves surged upward in pursuit of a divine prophecy, driving the feral orcs before them until they reached the surface world in the fabled Quest for Sky. Now established with their own lands and customs, the dwarves work their forges, sing songs of legendary heroes, brew signature beers, and wage war against evil humanoids and hideous monsters.

Inside this player-friendly 32-page guide, you’ll find details on the dwarves of Golarion—where they live, what they eat, how they dress, and their ideas about work and war; new combat feats for dwarven fighting styles; the history of the dwarven people and a description of the Five Kings Mountains, the oldest and most stable dwarven homeland; obscure magic of the dwarven gods; spells for ancestral communication, warding, and surviving the Darklands; new character traits; and game stats for three dwarf NPCs, suitable for hirelings or cohorts.

Pathfinder Module: Masks of the Living God (PFRPG)

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing!

The newest Pathfinder Module is here!

Add Print Edition: $13.99
Add PDF: $9.99

Sometimes you gotta pretend to be a bad guy in order to catch the bad guys. In Masks of the Living God, Paizo's latest Pathfinder Module, your characters will go undercover to root out the evil secret within a religious cult. Hopefully the bad guys won't discover your ruse first!

Razmir the Living God used his power to conquer an entire country. Now he and his mask-wearing priests enforce peace and generosity—though some say their tools are intimidation and fear. His worshipers preach charity and self-worth, blaming rival faiths for crafting lies about the glories of the Living God. Now the cult has come to the city of Tamran, feeding the poor and promising happiness to those who serve Razmir. Yet ugly rumors persist of bribery, extortion, and strange disappearances associated with the new temple. Are these stories just gossip and lies spread by rival faiths? Or is the church of the Living God more than it seems?

Masks of the Living God can be played as the second in a series of three Pathfinder Modules that begins with Crypt of the Everflame and concludes with City of Golden Death, but it can be used entirely on its own.

New Order

The latest Order of the Stick book has arrived!

List Price: $29.95
Our Price: $26.96
Add To Cart

I'm one of those people who doesn't like to read a web comic on the web. I know—weird. I'd just rather wait and sit down with a nice printed collection that contains a complete storyline than read it piecemeal on the web over several months. So I was super jazzed when the latest Order of the Stick book, Don't Split the Party, hit the warehouse this week!

Divided by the events of War and XPs, our heroes struggle to reunite in this fourth compilation of the popular online comic. With their leader indisposed, Haley leads the quest to bring him back. Meanwhile, her love Elan contends with new threats at sea, including some direct competition for her man! And how will these problems drive one of the Order's own to take an offer they should have refused? Find out in the exciting continuation of the OOTS story.

Another bonus to waiting for the collection is that you usually get great bonus material—in this case, you get 15 bonus strips, 10 pages of Rich Burlew's commentary, and even dedications to the two fathers of roleplaying, Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax.

So this holiday, I'll be pouring myself some egg nog, sitting next to the fire (sans roasting chestnuts), and curling up with my copy of Don't Split the Party! Happy holidays to all of you!

Pathfinder Chronicles: City Map Folio

Mapmaker, Mapmaker, Make Me a Map!

Our newest map folio takes on the cities of Golarion!

Add Print Edition: $15.99
Add PDF: $10.99

Though our Pathfinder Chronicles Map Folios already have many fans, we've been working on some ideas to make them even more desirable. So shortly after we planned out with Pathfinder Chronicles: Cities of Golarion, which presents six diverse cities for the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting, we realized that a Map Folio containing poster maps of all six cities would be pretty cool. And thus was Pathfinder Chronicles: City Map Folio created!

A necessity of all civilized societies, cities are the pride of any nation and the mark of an empire’s power. By a city’s size and prosperity can the traveler note a kingdom’s health and power, by the architecture of its buildings its culture and arts, and by the words and actions of its citizens the strength of its spirit. No two cities are exactly alike, and in a world as diverse as Golarion, these differences are nowhere more apparent than in the city’s shape and the layout of its streets. This map folio presents six such cities, each in the format of a large, full-color 17" x 22" poster map. And while details on these cities are presented in Pathfinder Chronicles: Cities of Golarion, these maps can serve as beautiful additions to any fantasy roleplaying game.

Maps of the following cities are included in this folio:
  • Cassomir: The most significant port of the eastern Inner Sea region
  • Corentyn: A city perched on the edge of two seas and at the heart of every major trade route
  • Ilizmagorti: A tropical city of pirates and criminals ruled by the Red Mantis assassins
  • Nisroch: A stark place of shadows and cruelty where every citizen lives in fear
  • Vigil: A city-fortress and bastion against the ravening orc hordes of Belkzen
  • Whitethrone: A frozen metropolis of monsters founded by the witch queen Baba Yaga

Both Cities of Golarion and City Map Folio are available now!

GameMastery Face Cards: Friends & Foes Deck

I've Just Seen a Face

The newest member of the GameMastery card family is here!

Our Price: $10.99
Add To Cart

Sometimes, you have one of those "Eureka!" moments where the obvious hits you upside the head. Well, I had one earlier this year while running my Rise of the Runelords campaign. I love presenting great visuals to my players, so whenever I introduce a new NPC, I display a character image from one of our PDFs on a big screen. It was while doing this that I asked myself, "Lisa, wouldn't it be easier to just pull out a card and pass it around the table?" Well, duh! The next day, I mentioned the idea to Erik, and eight months later, we have GameMastery Face Cards: Friends & Foes!

Friends & Foes contains a diverse mix of character types from helpful merchants to rough mercenaries to crafty spellcasters. A blank writable surface on the back of each card helps to identify the characters and keep notes on them. Appropriate for player characters and non-player characters alike, the stunning visages of GameMastery Face Cards bring a new visual flair to any fantasy RPG campaign!

So the next time I need a picture for a new NPC, I'm going to just reach for my Friends & Foes deck!

Kill Doctor Lucky

Doctor in the House

The new edition of Kill Doctor Lucky has arrived!

Our Price: $29.99
Add To Cart

Paizo's popular board game Kill Doctor Lucky, which sold out last holiday season, is back in print, with a new lower price—and now it includes the "...And His Little Dog Too!" expansion!

You've hated Doctor Lucky for as long as you can remember. Maybe he destroyed your dry cleaning business; maybe you think he's the king of the vampires. Or maybe his cat just keeps peeing in your shrubs. Whatever your reason, it's good enough to push you over the edge. And though you don't know it, everyone else in the house wants to kill him too.

Trying to kill Doctor Lucky is pretty easy, as long as no one's looking. But they don't call him "Doctor Lucky" for nothing. He's got an uncanny knack for slipping out of harm's way. And his loyal dog, Shamrock, is wary of your foul intent. And of course, everyone else wants to stop you so that they can do the deed themselves!

Kill Doctor Lucky is the award-winning family board game game of murder in the dark, where the goal is not to find out "whodunnit," but to be the one to do it! The new Paizo edition features high-quality, full-color components, including a deck of 96 cards; spite tokens; cardboard pawns and plastic stands for Doctor Lucky, Shamrock, and up to seven players; and a game board depicting Doctor Lucky's rambling country estate.

So gather in the drawing room and get cracking—somebody's going to Kill Doctor Lucky tonight, and it might as well be you!

GameMastery Flip-Mat: Arena

If Only All Stadium Projects Were This Easy!

The latest GameMastery Flip Mat is here!

Add Print: $12.99
Add PDF: $8.99

In a game centered around battle, it's no surprise so many adventures involve heroes facing off in mighty arenas. Our newest GameMastery Flip-Mat release, Arena, brings the hollering crowd and blood-soaked pitch to life in glorious color. You'll set the scene immediately, but immortality on the field of battle—that's up to your players.

Cartographer Corey Macourek has done an amazing job of bringing the arena to life, from the litter in the seats to the battered armor on the arena floor. Of course, the arena comes with the royal box so the king and queen can take in the bloodsport up close and personal. With an arena floor measuring 100 feet by 80 feet, there's plenty of room to maneuver, and the four columns in the arena floor will give you some cover to get strategic with!

If you want to spice things up a bit, flip over the mat; you'll find that the king likes a little water sport. In the same arena—but flooded with water—you can have the combatants fight sharks, sahuagin, or even boat-to-boat! But make sure you don't splash the king and queen, or you may end up shark bait!

Pathfinder Adventure Path #28: The Infernal Syndrome (Council of Thieves 4 of 6) (PFRPG)

This Baby's Gonna Blow!

The newest Pathfinder Adventure Path volume is here!

Add Print Edition: $19.99
Add PDF: $13.99

Remember in Ghostbusters how Gozer is summoned to Earth, and starts to tear apart New York City? And he might have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling Ghostbusters. Well, a similar thing is happening to Westcrown in Pathfinder Adventure Path #28: The Infernal Syndrome, so let's hope that your adventurers don't cross their streams as they try to deal with the menace!

In the bowels of one of Westcrown’s most esteemed halls of power lies an unfathomable evil, a terror beyond all reason and sanity, shackled and broken by the magic of a lost archmage. For years this menace has lain fuming, endlessly testing the bars of its prison, gathering its hatred and planning its revenge. Now the machinations of a deadly conspiracy have weakened the chains of this nightmare’s bonds, and in their growing cracks rise the flames of the damned and the promise of Westcrown consumed in hellfire. Can the PCs infiltrate the labyrinth of a madman to put an end to an evil beyond even the heroes of legend? And what foulness would seek to ruin all of Westcrown by gambling with its very soul?

In addition to the adventure by James Jacobs and 2008 RPG Superstar finalist Clinton Boomer, this volume of the Pathfinder Adventure Path continues the Council of Thieves AP, and includes articles on the citadels and secrets of the Hellknights; insights into the soul-shaking world of fiendish possessions; the continuation of Pathfinder Varian Jeggare adventures in the Pathfinder’s Journal by Dave Gross; and five new monsters to inflict upon poor Westcrown!

GameMastery Map Pack: Jungle

It's a Jungle Out There!

GameMastery Map Pack: Jungle is ready to ship!

Add Print Edition: $12.99
Add PDF: $8.99

We've always liked jungle adventures—heck, the Shackled City Adventure Path took place in a city smack-dab in the middle of the jungle! Then, one of our early proto-Golarion products was James Jacobs' Throne of the Gorilla King Compleat Encounter. And The Serpent's Skull, the Pathfinder Adventure Path launching in August 2010, takes place in Golarion's Amazon analogue, The Mwangi Expanse! So when we started to brainstorm ideas for new GameMastery Map Packs, it shouldn't surprise anyone that Map Pack: Jungle came to the top of the list, even though it's about eight months early for The Serpent's Skull!

What ancient secrets lie hidden in the trackless vast of the jungle? In a realm where swarms of ravenous insects, stealthy predators, and man-eating plants are little more than the harrowing reality of everyday survival, opportunities for glory and wondrous discovery must be incredible indeed. Brave overgrown jungle ruins, a treacherous rope bridge, and the ever-present fear of cannibal rampage with Paizo Publishing’s latest GameMastery Map Pack! You’ll find 18 beautiful 5" × 8" map tiles that can be combined to form several iconic locations from classic jungle settings, including Poacher’s Campsite, Native Village, Shaman’s Hut, Rope Bridge, Jungle Idol, and Lost Ziggurat.

As you level up, your thoughts may turn to the outer planes to get your adventuring kicks. Dungeon crawls give way to bizarre planes and their demonic outsider denizens. The perils may be higher on the outer planes, but the treasures they hold are almost limitless in scope, tempting heroes with their seductive powers. Wizards of the Coast is tapping into this hotbed of heroic conflict with their newest D&D 4E book, The Plane Below.

A hotbed of adventure opportunities await you in the roiling maelstrom of the Elemental Chaos—a plane of titans, elementals, genies, slaads, and demons. This game supplement builds on the overview of the Elemental Chaos presented in the Manual of the Planes and explores the tumultuous plane is greater detail. From the City of Brass to the githzerai monastery of Zerthadlun to the spiraling depths of the Abyss, adventure lurks behind every lava waterfall, across every icy battlefield, and beyond every raging lightning storm.

This game supplement describes the Elemental Chaos in detail, featuring key locations throughout the plane. It also presents a multitude of new monsters, mighty primordials, and powerful demons, as well as adventure hooks, encounters, hazards, and everything Dungeon Masters need to make the Elemental Chaos a featured setting in their campaigns.

Allons-y!

Cubicle 7 releases their new Doctor Who RPG!

List Price: $59.99
Our Price: $53.99
Add To Cart

Just as Doctor Who fans around the world are gearing up for The End of Time, Cubicle 7 Entertainment is bringing us a new beginning with their Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space roleplaying game! The boxed set contains a Gamemaster's Guide, a Player's Guide, an Adventure Book, tokens, dice, and more—over 250 pages that open up a whole universe of adventure. This all-new RPG is built around familiar mechanical concepts (characters have six major numerical attributes, and a variety of skills and traits; challenges involve rolling dice, adding stats, and comparing them to target numbers) and offers a lot of flexibility. (It might remind some gamers of the Unisystem that powers the Buffy The Vampire Slayer RPG from Eden Studios).

The first couple of products focus mainly on the current TV series—in addition to the boxed set and the GM Screen, Cubicle 7 will be releasing Aliens and Creatures, a sort of intergalactic bestiary. (Word is that future supplements will bring classic continuity into the game, starting with a UNIT boxed set in April.)

Buzz on the street is that the first print run of the core box set is relatively small, and when it goes back to press, David Tennant's spot on the cover will be taken over by Matt Smith, so if you're interested in a first printing, don't blink. Don't even blink. Er... I mean, don't delay—get your order in now!

'Tis But a Scratch.

New items have been added to our Scratch-'n-Dent! sale!

Today, I added a pile of new products to the Scratch-'n-Dent section of paizo.com! When I launched this section a few weeks ago, it contained only products from Paizo and some of our distribution partners, but now we're including items from a variety of publishers. These are items have acquired a few scuffs and dings from warehouse wear and tear, but make perfectly serviceable reading copies, and at a lower price than normal!

This time around, we've got some DVDs from Dead Gentlemen, various RPG products from a half-dozen publishers—and some of these books have been out of print for a while—and even several dozen back issues of Dragon and Dungeon magazines, a few of which have been otherwise unavailable for ages!

There's a lot more there than I can point out in this space—I count over 100 products as I write this—so check out all the scratch-'n-dent possibilities for yourself—and don't dilly-dally, because quantities are very limited on many of these items!

A Gore in the Hand Beats Cheney and Bush!

The new Chrononauts expansion is here!

List Price: $3.00
Our Price: $2.70
Add To Cart

One of my all-time favorite card games is Chrononauts, from Looney Labs, where you get to fiddle with history in order to change the world to your liking. Prevent Lincoln's assassination, and you get a ripple effect through time—perhaps an alternate timeline where Lincoln was impeached in 1868 and Martin Luther King became the first black president in 1974. Your goal as a chrononaut is to get a very specific timeline to occur—do you want to prevent World War III, or make it happen? Of course, other chrononauts have their own goals—and they're probably contrary to yours. Paradoxes ripple through time, relics that never should have existed are collected from the past, and much fun is had by all.

A lot has happened in the 21st century, but Chrononauts is now almost ten years old, so its TimeLine only covered up to 1999... until now. Introducing The Gore Years, an 11-card expansion for Chrononauts which extends the TimeLine to 2008, and explores the possibilities of a world that never knew the meaning of the term "hanging chad." The set includes 5 new TimeLine cards, 3 new Patches, and 3 new Characters who depend on this new strip of TimeLine.

And if you haven't already picked up the previous expansions for Chrononauts, well, the time is now! Early American Chrononauts is a standalone explansion—a full-sized deck that can be played by itself or combined with the original Chrononauts game. And the Lost Identities Booster Pack provides you with 13 new ID cards, plus a new Mission, to mix into your Chrononauts deck.

It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Super Genius!

Check out four new Pathfinder RPG-compatible PDFs from OtherWorld Creations!

Just a few short weeks ago, OtherWorld Creations and their Super Geniuses entered the realm of Pathfinder RPG–compatible PDF publishing with their Shaman class PDF. In the intervening weeks, the Super Geniuses have combined to publish four more PDFs, bringing industry veterans Owen Stephens and Stan! to the table!

My favorite of the new PDFs is One Night Stand: Kobold Death Maze, a low-level adventure that's perfect for a single night or two of play. Kobolds get a bad rap, and this adventure is meant to put some mean back into their demeanor. But what sets this adventure apart are the 16 miniatures-scale map tiles that combine to create the entire kobold maze. You also get paper minis for all the monsters in the adventure, featuring art by Stan! Very cool.

The first of two Owen Stephens' PDFs is The Genius Guide to the Dragonrider, which features a new core class for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. It's a combat-oriented class with minor arcane spellcasting ability, built around a character's mystic bond with a true dragon steed. This bond is more than simply a close friendship, it is a mystic connection between dragonrider and dragon, creating a permanent link fueled by the arcane power inherent to all true dragons.

Owen's second PDF, The Genius Guide to Loot 4 Less: Volume 1—Armor and Weapons kicks off the Loot 4 Less line, giving due to items with a cost-to-consumer of 2,500 gp or less. This is a forum for the cheapest of the cheap, and that's it. Yet everything in the product is a legitimate permanent magic item, free of charges and able to be used in adventure after adventure.

Finally, head Super Genius R. Hyrum Savage gives us The Genius Guide to the Harrowed, mortal beings whose connection to the world around them has been removed. Harrowed are a fun way for GMs to throw a new type of creature against players who have become jaded with the typical monsters found in most adventures.

Being a Pathfinder has its ups and downs, and nowhere is this more true than in the latest two Pathfinder Society Scenarios. From high up in the Aspodell Mountains which divide Cheliax and Andoran, to the Sodden Lands and the Eye of Abendego, our intrepid adventures will have to troop through the highs and lows of Golarion to get their prizes!

In Pathfinder Society Scenario #37: The Beggar's Pearl, the players are approached by a thieving vagabond known as the Beggar. He has procurred some battered notes and a strange-looking pearl that he says will help the adventurers find the dwarf Barek Triongger's fabled Gallery of Wonders high up in the Aspodell Mountains. But first, they must locate the dwarven prospector Torvic Scrathmane and find out what the Gallery of Wonders really holds. Can they survive and return the treasures of Barek Triongger to the Pathfinder Society?

And in Pathfinder Society Scenario #38: No Plunder, No Pay, the Pathfinders must free pirate captain Caradoc Alazario and find the final resting place of his sunken ship, the Infernal Reward. But the seas and the restless dead have other ideas. Will the fabled defiled disks of Urgathoa remain in their watery graves, or will the Pathfinders fight to bring them to the surface?

Goodman Games unleashes holiday cheer with a new sale!

Goodman Games is the company that keeps on giving—especially in December! For the last few years, Joseph Goodman has given RPG fans a holiday gift by offering 30% off all Goodman Games PDFs during the month of December! This year is no exception, and Joe and co. have their largest-ever selection of PDFs to choose from!

There's a large selection of 3.5 PDFs that can easily be used with the Pathfinder RPG. There's also an ever-growing supply of PDFs for D&D 4E as well. Heck, there is even some love for those of you who play 1st Edition! And Call of Cthulhu fans will want to check out the two Age of Cthulhu adventures. And just to make sure there's something for everyone, there are even some system-neutral supplements, including a few penned by some of the Werecabbages that frequent the paizo.com messageboards!

But hurry—these sales prices won't last forever! As the year 2009 slips into memory, so will this sale!
