Three from FFG!

Fantasy Flight releases three new products!

List Price: $59.95
Our Price: $53.96
Add To Cart

The Fantasy Flight Games juggernaut rolls on with releases for three of its popular brands: Battlestar Galactica, the Game of Thrones LCG, and Warhammer!

In the Warhammer: Chaos in the Old World board game, each player takes the role of one of the malevolent Lords of Chaos. Each god's distinctive powers and legion of followers give the controlling player unique strengths and heretical abilities with which to corrupt and enslave the Old World. Yet, as the powers of Chaos seek domination by corruption and conquest, they must vie not only against each other, but also against the desperate denizens of the Old World who fight to banish the gods back to the maelstrom of the Realm of Chaos—for now.

Tales from the Red Keep, the fourth Chapter Pack in the King's Landing series for the A Game of Thrones Living Card Game, takes the set's featured Shadows mechanic in new directions, with an appropriately thematic emphasis on the shadowy Red Keep setting of King's Landing. The ever dangerous dancing master Syrio Forel and the always scheming Queen of Thorns lead a cast of fan-favorite characters, while the new White Book agenda makes the popular Kingsguard sub-theme a viable deck archetype.

Pegasus, the first expansion for Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game, adds two new supplemental game boards featuring the Battlestar Pegasus and the planet New Caprica, seven new characters, two plastic Basestars, as well as new Destination, Crisis, Loyalty, Quorum, Super Crisis, and Skill cards. The new Pegasus board can be used by itself or together with the New Caprica board to create the game you desire—the Pegasus alone for the additional firepower she provides, or add the New Caprica board to simulate the rebellion on the new human colony, bringing the game to an epic level.

There's Power in Them There Cards!

The newest D&D 4E Power Cards are here!

As I write this, everyone is packing up for Paizo's move to Redmond. By the time you read it, our servers will have already been safely ensconced in the new offices, and the movers will have delivered our boxes to our new digs. It has been a wonderful five years in this office, and I have to admit that I'm getting a little misty-eyed thinking about all the good times we had here. Plans were hatched and new worlds born in this second-floor office, and I'm going to miss it. But we're movin' on up to the Eastside, and we'll be coming up with even more cool products during our next seven years there!

And now I'd like to bring you attention to a new D&D 4E product that actually came out a few days back, but got overlooked in the blogs due to all the fuss and muss that moving entails! I'm talking about the latest Power Cards set from Wizards of the Coast, the Players Handbook 2 Power Cards!

Players using Player's Handbook 2 Power Cards don't need to crack open a rulebook every time they cast a spell—all the crucial information is right in front of their eyes. Each and every class power appearing in Player's Handbook 2 has its own card. Simply select the cards for your character's powers and you're ready to play! Each deck contains 100 cards: one card for each of that class's powers from Player's Handbook 2 plus a few blank cards for players to use for other powers.

The display box includes one deck each of Avenger, Barbarian, Bard, Druid, Invoker, Shaman, Sorcerer, and Warden.

Gone Daddy Gone!

A new Legend of the Five Rings RPG book is here!

Our Price: $34.95
Unavailable

We are deep, deep into the week-long move of our warehouse and offices to our new digs in Redmond, Washington, so I'll keep this brief. There are more boxes to pack and tag before the day ends!

It has been a couple of months since AEG has released a new Legend of the Five Rings RPG sourcebook, but they have remedied that with their newest release, Vacant Throne.

The return of a prophet promised a new age of enlightenment. Instead, his death has doomed the ruling dynasty of Rokugan! Now the throne of the Toturi Emperors stands empty, and the Empire finds itself without a master. Already the Clans have begun to maneuver against each other in the prelude to war! This sourcebook for the Legend of the Five Rings roleplaying game details the events and individuals of the Lotus and Samurai eras represented in the L5R CCG.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!

Steve Jackson's latest game has you playing cultists trying to summon elder terrors!

List Price: $27.95
Our Price: $25.16
Add To Cart

It's all in the stars. Or at least how they are aligned. For centuries, doomsayers have looked to the stars for information on when the world is coming to an end or when some god or another will return. Usually, these strange alignments of stars are super rare—something that happens once every millennium or so. But what if you could change the stars around yourself and get that special alignment that will allow you to bring armageddon to our world? That's thinking outside of the box!

In The Stars Are Right, new from Steve Jackson Games, you'll take the role of a cultist, summoning Lovecraftian horrors from beyond time and space. You'll start small, bringing ghasts and ghouls back to our reality. Invoke minor creatures to flip over a tile or push a row, creating the correct patterns to summon more and more powerful ones. Eventually, you'll build a horde of Servitors who can chain flips, pushes, and switches together, rearranging the entire grid to your whims. Change the skies, summon a Great Old One, and win!

The Stars Are Right is a card game for two to four players, ages 12 and up, with a playing time of less than one hour. The cards are hilariously illustrated by Goomi (Munchkin Cthulhu 3: The Unspeakable Vault).

Summon the Great Old Ones, who will shower you with power beyond your dreams. Or perhaps they'll eat you. Or both.

Second Time around the Dungeon!

The new D&D products take a second look at two 4e topics!

List Price: $29.95
Our Price: $26.96

Sometimes you just can't get everything you want into a rulebook. Not only do good ideas sit unused, but new ideas spark up as soon as you send something to the printer. So it isn't any surprise that Wizards of the Coast is producing a sequel to its Adventurer's Vault for Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition. Adventurers Vault 2 gives players and DMs hundreds of new weapons, tools, and magic items. Whether you're a player looking for a new piece of equipment or a Dungeon Master stocking a dragon's hoard, this book has exactly what you need. The book provides items for all characters classes, giving love to those that were left out in its predecessor. Magical ammunition makes its 4e debut and the magic item sets are detailed—groupings of magic items that add increased powers the more items from a set that you wear. If you are always on the lookout for more stuff for your characters, then this book will deliver in spades.

Another new 4E book is the Dragon Magazine Annual Volume 1. This book collects the best content from the past year's online Dragon offerings and compiles them into one easy-to-reference source. The articles contained herein provide exciting character options for players as well as inspiration and campaign-building support for Dungeon Masters. In addition to the compiled articles, the book contains never-before-seen notes from the designers, developers, and editors that take you behind the curtain, offering a firsthand glimpse into the origin and evolution of each article. So if you'd like a hardcopy version of your favorite DDI articles, or perhaps you missed them the first time around, this book might very well be for you!

The Path Most Travelled!

More third-party Pathfinder RPG products are available!

Our Price: $0.99
Unavailable

The paizo.com downloads section has been bombarded with a plethora of third party Pathfinder RPG compatible products. The Pathfinder RPG Compatibility License has given enterprising authors the opportunity to create PDF releases in time for the launch of the new game. Choices, choices, choices!

The first two PDFs this week come from Headless Hydra Games, and are aimed at fleshing out their setting of Mor Aldenn, the City of Mages. Author K. Axel Carlsson's first Pathfinder RPG PDFs detail one of the gods of Mor Aldenn and a kobold-friendly tavern. Gods of Mor Aldenn: Ehlora gives details on Ehlora, the goddess of ancestry, death and knowledge. Within these pages you'll find information about the goddess herself and her followers. You'll also find a new feat, a few NPCs and even a small selection of new spells. The second PDF details The Ugly Harpy, Mor Aldenn's largest inn, and a haven for thieves, kobolds, fighters, whores and wizards.

A company called The Shining Jewel has released their Legends of the Shining Jewel: Campaign Guide, presenting an ongoing living-style city. The campaign contains elements of high fantasy, high magic, high intrigue, and high roleplaying. There are new races, updated cleric abilities, 19 new and updated domains for divine characters, new Noble and Aristocrat classes, class variants, new feats, new prestige classes and more!

Finally, from Louis Porter Jr. Design comes the Expanded Character Sheet, a 19-page PDF to help players track a detailed view of the character they are playing. It includes spaces for magic item locations, session notes, campaign notes, contacts and alliances, and more.

Give 'em a try!

Another set of Dungeons & Dragons miniatures has hit our shelves, and this one is Huge! As in full of Huge miniatures. The Dungeons & Dragons—Monster Manual Miniatures: Legendary Evils Huge Pack contains one Huge mini in each pack and 4 more random minis to accompany him.

There are 40 figures to collect in this set, including 8 different Huge critters: Elder Green Dragon, Storm Titan, Frost Titan, Beholder Ultimate Tyrant, Remorhaz, Goristro, Balor and Elder Iron Dragon. The Storm Titan and the Frost Titan could also stand in for storm and frost giants in your campaign, while this is the first remorhaz in the D&D minis line! The balor looks pretty cool with his fiery whip, and huge dragons are always a must-buy! And how about the first huge beholder figure? While we can't guarantee which Huge mini you will get in your pack, if you order 8 packs, we'll ensure that you get a case with one of each Huge figure!<

And there are plenty of smaller monsters too. There are githzerai, a goblin, a hezrou, slaads, and more. We don't have singles available for this set yet, because we are in the process of moving our warehouse, but I expect to have them sorted and ready for sale sometime during the first week of September.

Tall Tales of Zobeck!

Open Design's latest Zobeck PDF brings adventure to your game!

Our Price: $19.99
Add To Cart

Unless you've just come out of a long hibernation, you've probably heard of Wolfgang Baur's patronage projects with his company Open Design. He pitches a few ideas, and patrons pledge money to let him know which ones to greenlight. In the past, most patronage products were only released to the patrons, leaving the rest of us to wonder what the fuss was all about. But when Tales of Zobeck won a Silver ENnie Award at Gen Con last week, Wolfgang decided to celebrate by selling this formerly patronage-only product to the rest of us so we could join in the fun!

Zobeck is home to gypsies, kobolds, powerful guilds and seductive devils—a crossroads city where the people of all corners of the compass come to barter, cheat, and deal. This collection of adventures brings together the writing talent of veterans and up-and-coming talent, all lovingly brought together into a 114-page PDF by former Paizo editor Mike McArtor. The adventures in this book are:

  • The Gullet War, by Ed Greenwood—a location of intrigue and action
  • The Madman at the Bridge, by Wolfgang Baur—a race against destruction for 5th-level characters
  • Knave of Parts, by Bill Collins—an urban legend for 4th–6th-level characters
  • Tail of the Mouse-King, by Tim & Eileen Connors—a murder mystery for 5th-level characters
  • A Plague of Shadows, by Joshua Stevens—a mystery for 1st-level characters
  • The Devil You Know, by Jim Groves & Mike McArtor—an adventure for 4th-level characters
  • The Maiden in the Glass, by Dan Voyce—a ghost story for 5th-level characters
  • Redcloak Ruckus, by Ben McFarland—a riotous adventure for 6th-level characters

Come see what Zobeck is about!

Pathfinder Chronicles: Classic Monsters Revisited (OGL)

Classic Monsters Revisited—Revisited!

Our first Classic Monsters book is back in stock for a limited time!

Add PDF: $12.99
Add Print Edition: $17.99

When we originally conceived of Classic Monsters Revisited for our Pathfinder Chronicles line, we had no idea that it would prove so popular! We sold out of our print run in less than a month and it took us all by surprise. We've batted around the idea of doing a reprint, but we have just never had the time or money to do so. But when we noticed that our book trade distributor had a few hundred copies left in their warehouse, the answer became obvious—have them ship those copies back here to sell on paizo.com. So this classic Classic is back in stock—for a limited time only. This may be your last chance to get this volume in print!

Our Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path famously reimagined goblins, detailing their culture, mannerisms, and tactics in a way that made a boring old monster one of the most hotly discussed foes in fantasy roleplaying. The minds that bring you the Pathfinder Adventure Path have applied the same method to ten "classic" monsters, providing complete ecological discussions and adventure ideas involving orcs, ogres, goblins, hobgoblins, trolls, bugbears, and more in this lavishly illustrated, full-color 64-page overview that is both fun to read and fun to use at the gaming table.

Designed for use with the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting but easily portable to any fantasy campaign, Classic Monsters Revisited is a resource gamers can turn to again and again.

While I've got your attention, allow me to tell you about some other products that we are almost sold out of:

All four of these will be gone soon, and none of them will be reprinted, so get your copies now or forever hold your peace!

It's Third Party and I'll Play If I Want To!

A host of companies are supporting the Pathfinder RPG!

Backorder Print/PDF Bundle: $34.95
Add PDF: $14.95

With the release of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook at Gen Con last week, a growing number of publishers are taking advantage of our Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatibility License to create products that make use of our new rules!

Adamant Entertainment expands the basic rules with their Tome of Secrets. Adamant had some print copies of this book for sale at our Gen Con booth, and it was really well received. We'll have print copies in the store in a few weeks, but you can get the PDF now. This 192-page rulebook features 8 new classes, including the Artificer, Knight, Priest, Shaman, Spellblade, Swashbuckler, Warlock and Warlord; 3 new races, including the Half-Ogre, Ratkin and Saurian; rules for character occupations (what your heroes did before they were heroes); a system for character drawbacks, fleshing out your heroes with flaws; new rules including Chases, Morale, Stunts, and more; gamemaster tools including a random adventure generator, a monster modifier, and a generator capable of creating over one million magic items!

Tricky Owlbear Publishing enters the field with Abbey of the Golden Sparrow, the first of their locale supplements, this one penned by Dale McCoy Jr—you may know him as DMcCoy1693 here on the paizo.com messageboards! Locales are places of interest that can be dropped into any fantasy campaign that help bring the setting to life. The Abbey of the Golden Sparrow is designed especially with an eye toward monk characters, beginning with a short narrative describing the typical life of an initiate at the abbey. This is followed by the locale’s physical description, history, two local myths, and sample doctrines. New feats as well as new character traits are featured. Following these are short sections on a new special material (obsidian), three new magic items, and two signature NPCs of the abbey. In short, you get a grab bag of material that can be used together or separately.

4 Winds Fantasy Gaming has released two PFRPG PDFs. The Book of Arcane Magic is a sourcebook for bards, sorcerers and wizards with over 100 new spells, eleven colleges of magic and bardic schools, ten new bloodlines for sorcerers, ten new familiars, and many new magic items. GM's Aid VII: Condition Cards allows you to print an assortment of cards that help you remember the temporary adjustments to die rolls, combat stats, skill checks, and the like that result from your character being struck blind by a spell, knocked prone by a powerful blow, or simply made invisible thanks to a handy potion.

Skorched Urf' Studios antes up The Thinking Races: Heroes of Iron & Steel, which provides a variety of races made from stuff other than flesh and blood. Some of the new races in this sourcebook are elemental beings, others are constructs.

Finally, Louis Porter Jr. Design gives us the Adventure Planner PDF, which includes forms to help you run adventures and keep order in your campaign.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #31: Sniper in the Deep (PFRPG) PDF

Four for Season One!

The first four Pathfinder Society Scenarios of Season One are here!

This past weekend at Gen Con in Indianapolis, thousands of players pitted their wits against four of the most fiendish scenarios ever. The first four Pathfinder Society scenarios of Season One of our Pathfinder Society Organized Play program were a resounding hit, and now you can download them yourself and play along at home, at your local convention, or at your FLGS.

In Pathfinder Society Scenario #29: The Devil We Know—Part I: Shipyard Rats, by Joshua J. Frost, simultaneous kidnappings of Pathfinder and Aspis Consortium agents haved rocked Cassomir's Imperial Naval Shipyards, and the Pathfinder Society orders you to join forces with hated Aspis agents to solve the mystery. Can you work together with the enemies of the Society to uncover the source of the kidnappings, or will you perish in the shipyards of Cassomir?

In the followup, Pathfinder Society Scenario #30: The Devil We Know—Part II: Cassomir's Locker, also by Josh Frost, the Society dispatches you to the catacombs called Cassomir's Locker to find the source of a rat cult breeding monstrous vermin. After clearing Cassomir's dank sewers and delving into the dirty dungeons below, will you find the artifact that powers Cassomir's Locker or bring about the destruction of Taldor's most important port?

David Eitelbach and Hank Woon are the men responsible for Pathfinder Society Scenario #31: Sniper in the Deep , which begins with rumors of a hidden treasure ship in Absalom's Flotsam Graveyard, and the Pathfinder Society sends you beneath the Inner Sea to investigate. Mayhem, undersea adventure, and chaos are to be had in this rousing rampage beneath the roiling waters of Absalom's harbor.

Finally, Sean K Reynolds penned Pathfinder Society Scenario #32: Drow of the Darklands Pyramid, which sees the Pathfinder Society sending you to stop a rogue band of drow plaguing the shipping lanes of Osirion. When the drow capture a caravan laden with Society relics, you'll delve into the Darklands to track down the stolen cargo and explore the mysterious Stalactite Pyramid.

Not a member of Pathfinder Society Organized Play? Now's the time to get with the program!

P-Day: The Invasion of Gen Con!

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook releases today!

Add Hardcover: $49.99
Add PDF: $9.99

I'm tempted to start this blog off with "Four score and seven years ago," because it seems about that long ago that Paizo decided to forge our own path in the RPG world and started work on the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook. In reality it was only about a year and half ago, but in that time about 55,000 people downloaded our beta playtest document and more than 200,000 posts were written on our messsageboards discussing the rules—and making them better—while still maintaining backwards compatibility with the 3.5 OGL rules. And it was all worth it! The Core Rulebook is one of the most beautiful books that I have ever been a part of, and I'm extremely proud of my team for making this happen while still holding down the fort with the rest of our product lines. And now I'd like to remind you of all the Pathfinder goodness that's available, so you don't miss out!

By the time you read this, the Gen Con exhibit hall will have opened, and lines of customers will gotten their hands on more than 4 pounds of fantasy magic. And if the website hasn't already been brought to a crashing halt from countless folks trying to purchase it, the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook PDF should be available now! Priced at $9.99, we expect that there will be a lot of people anxious to see what we've all come up with. The good news is that PDFs don't sell out, so check back later if the site is slow!

But there is so much more than the Core Rulebook releasing today. Our first Pathfinder Adventure Path designed for the Pathfinder RPG has started. Pathfinder Adventure Path #25: "The Bastards of Erebus" is the first volume in the six-part Council of Thieves Adventure Path, which will take place in the Chelaxian city of Westcrown. "The Bastards of Erebus" is written by our very own Sean K Reynolds and kicks off the intrigue among the diabolists in Westcrown.

Jason Bulmahn, the designer of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook, also took his design skills to Crypt of the Everflame, our first Pathfinder Module designed for the new rules. This is a great introductory module for beginning characters, and it also serves as a nice introduction to some of the mechanics that have changed between 3.5 and the Pathfinder RPG. We're also releasing GameMastery Flip-Mat: Dungeon, with a layout matching locales from the module, making running this easier and more visually stunning for your group.

"But wait," as they say, "there's more!" Qadira, Gateway to the East and Cheliax, Empire of Devils, the two latest Pathfinder Companion volumes, were also created using the final Pathfinder RPG rules. Besides great campaign background on these two pivotal countries in Golarion, each has plenty of Pathfinder crunch, including new feats and traits, equipment, prestige classes, magic items, monsters and spells.

And if you haven't checked out our Pathfinder Society Organized Play program, now's the time! The free Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play has been updated for the Pathfinder RPG, and the first four Season 1 Pathfinder Society Scenarios are now available! Folks like you are playing them this weekend at Gen Con, and you can play them yourself right at home!

We've already released the Pathfinder RPG Bonus Bestiary, which details more than a dozen monsters that won't be in the main Pathfinder RPG Bestiary in October. You can also adorn your game room with the Pathfinder RPG Launch Poster, featuring the amazing art of Wayne Reynolds!

And we've saved the free stuff for last: The Pathfinder RPG Reference Document, an online reference containing the Open Game Content from the Pathfinder RPG rules is now available! We also have a Pathfinder RPG Conversion Guide that will show you the best ways to use your existing 3.5 library with the new Pathfinder RPG rules. We've posted the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Preview, which includes all the monsters from the forthcoming Pathfinder RPG Bestiary that you'll need to run "Bastards of Erebus" and Crypt of the Everflame. We've updated our popular Character Traits (516 KB zip PDF) document for use with the Pathfinder RPG. We've got a Council of Thieves Player's Guide for folks getting ready for the new Pathfinder Adventure Path, and we've released the errata (1.2 MB zip PDF) for the first printing of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook, which have already been incorporated into the PDF. And there will be even more as we roll forward! Check back frequently here at paizo.com to see what goodies we have in store!

Thanks for helping us make the launch of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game so amazing!

Wedge Blocking for Mister Frodo!

Middle-earth Quest is here!

List Price: $79.95
Our Price: $71.96
Add To Cart

With football season almost here, you'll have to forgive me if the first thing I thought of when looking at Fantasy Flight's Middle-earth Quest board game was blocking in a football game. You see, the whole point of Middle-earth Quest is to thwart Sauron's evil machinations long enough for Frodo to grow up and for Gandalf's plans to come to fruition. This struck me to be similar to wedge blockers on a special teams unit during a football game. The wedge unit forms a supossedly impenetrable wall that gives the kick returner a chance to field the kick, survey the field, and then hopefully speed through the defense for a touchdown. If the returner doesn't get the time he needs, then game over. Middle-earth Quest is a lot like that. If you don't give Frodo and Gandalf time, then it's lights out for the Shire and the rest of Middle-earth.

Middle-earth Quest is set in the seventeen-year period between Bilbo's birthday party and the Ring's departure from the Shire, as described in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. One player takes the role of Sauron, who is attempting to dominate Middle-earth with his nefarious plots and evil minions. Up to three other players take the roles of heroes who must hold the darkness at bay until Gandalf's plans have matured. To do so, the heroes must embark on dangerous quests and consult with the famous characters of Middle-earth to gain favor and knowledge.

Will you play as Sauron and claim Middle-earth as your own? Or will you play as a hero and stand against the Dark Lord? The fate of Middle-earth rests in your hands!

A Break from Our Regularly Scheduled Pathfinder Mania...

Four new supplements for four non-d20 game systems!

List Price: $39.99
Our Price: $35.99
Add To Cart

With all of the hoopla surround the release of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook, it might be easy to forget that there are other cool RPG books coming out this week. So let's talk about CthulhuTech, Traveller, Paranoia, and a new RPG, Western City.

CthulhuTech: Damnation View is a setting book for the CthulhuTech RPG. The year is 2086. The Disciples of the Rapine Storm throw themselves with renewed fervor against the beleaguered troops holding the lines of the East. The New Earth Government desperately searches for a plan to drive the alien insects from their last bastion of safety. Deep within the dark places something ancient and primal stirs, ready to gift the world with its unspeakable presence once again. And somewhere, the children of the fish-god find lost things that were better left lost.

Traveller: Book 6—Scoundrel brings to life some of the most favoured characters in Traveller—those who avoid legitimate lines of work, who straddle the grey areas of the law. Scoundrel shows you just how to survive in a universe that insists on everyone doing an honest day's work, without actually having to work for it. From confidence tricksters and gamblers to smugglers and thieves, Scoundrel is an essential companion for any Rogue or Drifter.

Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Paranoia with the limited-edition Troubleshooters: Black Missions—new rules to ignore, and new missions to be excited by, all dedicated to those staunch defenders of Alpha Complex, the Troubleshooters! PARANOIA is a lighthearted game of backstabbing, treachery and guile, where trusting other players is a sure route to the termination centre. The Black Missions edition, limited to 1,000 copies, has an all-new cover, plus a Bonus Mandatory Fun DVD, which includes material streamed straight from the grey subnets: electronic copies of classic Paranoia supplements, Computer Voice Control, Traitorous Sound Effects, and much more!

Finally, the Western City RPG introduces immersive mechanics so all the players share the spotlight without anyone being the gamemaster. Toss your chips in the pot where the story matters most to you, and work together to bring a spaghetti western to life around your gaming table. Frame the story and design your own High Noons. Strive to fulfill your character's goals, while stepping into the shoes of a supporting cast you have a stake in. Come on down to Western City... or are you yella?

Running with the Shadows of the Night!

Shadowrun celebrates 20 years with all new products!

List Price: $44.99
Our Price: $40.49
Add To Cart

I can remember getting all excited 20 years ago when Shadowrun first came out. The mix of fantasy and cyberpunk was gritty and just the shot in the arm that the roleplaying game industry needed! Flash forward two decades, and Catalyst Games is celebrating with a the Shadowrun 4th Edition—20th Anniversary Edition. The fourth edition, which was released three years ago, is getting a new cover-to-cover full-color treatment with a stunning presentation of all the visuals Shadowrun has to offer, and the new presentation has been designed with increased usability in mind. And to make this the ultimate core rulebook for the entire Shadowrun game line, a 22-page master index has been added, covering the 20th Anniversary Edition as well as core rules expansions Arsenal, Augmentation, Runner's Companion, Street Magic, and Unwired.

But that isn't all the Shadowrun news! Dawn of the Artifacts is an all-new interlocking series of adventures kicking off with Dusk.

Sixth World scholars have long hypothesized the cyclical nature of magic. For years corporations, collectors and other factions have spent fortunes hunting down surviving relics of this mythical age. The shadows whisper of lost lore and a secret history to the world. A privileged few have come into possession of ancient items of great power and mysterious purpose, artifacts from before recorded history. Now it’s your turn…

On the surface, the job seems simple: escort and assist Ms. Johnson as she follows the trail of a man across the globe. The target? An agent of the Atlantean Foundation tracking a priceless stolen artifact. And the trail? It leads to Lagos, the most dangerous sprawl on earth, where simply surviving the day can be a run in its own right. Add in the biggest black market auction of the century, a powerful African king, and a plethora of the biggest players in the artifacts trade, from the Atlantean Foundation to Aztechnology… well, welcome to the underside of the artifact business. If you survive, there’s more work a-coming... and maybe even some answers to your questions.

Dawn of the Artifacts will take the runners to the far corners of the globe on a quest to recover priceless artifacts, and Dusk is just the beginning!

Pathfinder Module: Crypt of the Everflame (PFRPG)

Flame On!

The first Pathfinder RPG module is here!

Add Print Edition: $13.99
Add PDF: $9.99

When we did our internal playtest of Crypt of the Everflame, the first Pathfinder Module designed specifically for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, the GM was Jason Bulmahn, author of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook, and this adventure gave us a chance to test the finished rules as they were being developed. We each chose one of Paizo's iconic characters to use as our character. I chose Amiri (though interestingly, she doesn't appear in any of the art in the game—I'll have to remember this when we talk raises down the line). We had a blast battling our way through Jason's dungeon and putting the rules through their paces. And now's your chance to launch your own Pathfinder RPG campaign with the same adventure!

The young heroes of the town of Kassen are ready for their coming-of-age ceremony, an old tradition in which they retrieve a piece of the eternal flame burning in the tomb of the town’s founder. Yet when they arrive there, they find only the corpses of their fellow townsfolk, dead bandits, and mysterious animated skeletons. The novice heroes must brave the traps and perils of the Crypt of the Everflame, discover the source of the corruption that has awakened an ancient evil, and defeat a menace that seeks vengeance against Kassen and its people.

Crypt of the Everflame is a dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world’s oldest RPG. The adventure map uses the same layout as the 2009 edition of Paizo’s GameMastery Flip-Mat: Dungeon. This adventure is set in the forested land of Nirmathas in the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting, but can easily be set in any game world. It can be used on its own or combined with its sequels, Masks of the Living God and City of Golden Death to create an even greater campaign arc.

Designed specifically for the new Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules—and written by the new game’s primary designer—Crypt of the Everflame spotlights exciting new rules updates and character abilities, making it the ideal introductory adventure for Pathfinder RPG players. A new era in fantasy roleplaying begins here!

The folks over at Mongoose Publishing have one of the most ambitious publishing schedules in the adventure game industry! This week, they give some love to the RuneQuest and Spycraft games.

For RuneQuest, we have Land of the Samurai—Price of Honour, an adventure set in Japan in 900 AD. Emperor Ichijo rules Japan and the Imperial Court is dominated by the Fujiwara clan. The power base they have slowly built over the last two centuries is now being threatened by two rival clans, the Minamoto and the Taira. In the midst of this political conflict the bakemono Lord, Enezga, has seized several territories in the Iwami province. Clans Minamoto and Taira face a terrible fight as Enezga must be stopped!

The latest Spycraft rulebook takes a look at the mythical creatures that dwell in the shadows of the world. Spycraft Declassified: Odd Jobs collects the strangest and most fantastic of Crafty Games' PDFs and Signs & Portents articles, including classic Greek and fantasy races, sanity-blasting cosmic horror and advanced stress rules, a new capsule setting that can take you literally anywhere you want to go, a new agenda for World on Fire that's out of this world, and a ready-to-play adventure! Take your game in a whole new direction with this wild new Spycraft expansion.

Pathfinder Companion: Cheliax, Empire of Devils (PFRPG)

The Devil You Don't Know

The latest Pathfinder Companion takes a look at Cheliax!

Add PDF: $7.99
Print Edition: Unavailable

Since we first unveiled the Hellknights way back in Rise of the Runelords Chapter 2: "The Skinsaw Murders", there has been a lot of interest in the country of Cheliax—oppressor of other countries, consort of devils, and just downright devious to the core! Now that our fifth Pathfinder Adventure Path, Council of Thieves, takes place entirely in Cheliax, demand for information on this country of diabolists is at an all-time high! So it shouldn't be any surprise that our latest Pathfinder Companion is Cheliax, Empire of Devils!

Seventy years ago, the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune defeated its rivals in a bloody civil war following the death of the god of humanity, bringing order to the war-torn nation of Cheliax—but at a price. Now the imperial bureaucracy enforces devil-worship as the state religion, and the common people bow their heads in perpetual servitude to the dark lord of Hell. Fortunately, Cheliax still has heroes: crusaders and revolutionaries motivated by glory, honor, greed for the throne, or hatred of what their land has become under the infernal thumb of Asmodeus.

This Pathfinder Companion describes the nation of Cheliax, its diabolical capital of Egorian, and its shadow-haunted former capital of Westcrown. Inside you'll also find new character traits, magic items, spells, combat feats, and Chelish NPCs suitable for cohorts or contacts. This book is perfect for use in the Council of Thieves Adventure Path, or in any adventure taking place in a nation of devils and decadence.

GameMastery Map Pack: Town

Talk of the Town

The latest GameMastery Map Pack goes to town!

Add Print Edition: $12.99
Add PDF: $8.99

Our very first GameMastery Map Pack, Map Pack: Village, has been sold out for a while now. So when we were working on this year's Map Pack lineup, we decided to revisit the original, taking it up a notch from village to town.

Game Masters shouldn't waste their time drawing the town jail every time the PCs get into a fight with the locals. With GameMastery Map Pack: Town, you'll always be ready for a corrupt trial and the ensuing fight for freedom.

Inside, you'll find 18 beautiful 5"x8" map tiles that can be combined to form four common locations in a fantasy town. How many times have you had a scene at the Town Gate where the PCs have a run-in with the guards? We've got you covered. What if the PCs then get dragged in to see the City Watch? It's handled. Then it's off to the Courthouse to argue that there were extenuating circumstances, possibly involving a demon and a prostitute. Uh-huh, location ready. Finally, after a daring courtroom escape, the characters are holed up in a Merchant's Guildhouse. Is there anybody out there this doesn't happen to?

Map Pack: Town has the locations you need to tell exciting stories in towns of any size. Pick yours up today!

NOTE: Demons and prostitutes not included.

Pathfinder Chronicles: Legacy of Fire Map Folio

The Road to Katapesh

The Legacy of Fire Map Folio is here!

Add Print Edition: $14.99
Add PDF: $10.49

I love the map folios that we make for each of the Pathfinder Adventure Paths. I like the fact that I can have the maps at my fingertips and not have to page through my books looking for this map or that while GMing. I also love the larger, poster-size maps of the main cities and regions that I can mount onto foamcore boards and display for my players throughout the AP. And the Pathfinder Chronicles: Legacy of Fire Map Folio provides the main maps from the Legacy of Fire adventure path in easily referenced form and in full-color detail. Even if you aren't playing Legacy of Fire, the cities, dungeons, villas, and extraplanar worlds contained in this folio can inspire your own creations for years to come!

The Legacy of Fire Adventure Path leads you from the frontiers of exotic Katapesh through the planes of existence on a fantastic and deadly journey. You’ll venture from quiet villages to the bustling trader’s metropolis of Katapesh and from lost demiplanes to the palaces of the mythical City of Brass on this quest to save the realm from the centuries-old plot of an insane genie lord.

The Legacy of Fire Map Folio charts the course through this epic campaign, reprinting all the key locations explored in the fourth Pathfinder Adventure Path with more than a dozen full-color maps! In addition, you’ll find two huge, poster-sized maps of the dimension of Kakishon, the hidden refuge of an ancient wizard-king; and the metropolis of Katapesh, the glamorous and bizarre market city where any treasure or pleasure can be had for the right price.

With the Legacy of Fire Map Folio, you’ll never lose your course to adventure!
