The Alien Archive 2 Pawn Box is a hefty collection of over 300 thick, double-sided, full-colour cardboard pawns that fit into plastic bases (the box includes 35 bases, with coverage for all the sizes of pawns in the box). As the artwork is taken directly from Alien Archive 2, it's almost uniformly excellent. The box includes a good array of huge-sized creatures, and also has about a dozen starship pawns. Although I haven't done close comparison, I'm pretty sure that pretty much everything in the book has a pawn representing it in this collection. Of particular use to many GMs will be bone troopers and ghouls (useful for Dead Suns), while players will appreciate having pawns to play an uplifted bear, pahtra, or tiefling. Reviewing pawn boxes isn't easy as you pretty much get exactly as advertised, but I have no complaints about the collection and have used the set many times. The only minor complaint I have about all Paizo pawn collections is that they're difficult to organise once punched out, but various gamers have homebrewed their own solutions to that issue.

Dark Archive

That seems to be the actual box art for Alien Archive 2.
Four months between release of the hardcover book and the pawns seems reasonable for such an extensive product.
I recognize from left to right:
-Acrochor (Dead Suns #4)
-Scyphozoan (Dead Suns #5)
-Rebuilt (Kish) (Dead Suns #4).

I really like the Alien Archive pawn box & this 2nd one will also be much appreciated!

The only creatures from the Alien Archive which are not in this box are:
-Theropod (gargantuan)
-Sauropod (gargantuan)
-Old Void Dragon (gargantuan)
-Glass Serpent (gargantuan)
-Haeshi-Shaa (Shaa Form) (gargantuan)
-Gargantuan Herd Animal
-Colossal Herd Animal
-Living Apocalypse (colossal)
-Moonflower Titan (gargantuan)
-Plasma Ooze (gargantuan)
-Gargantuan Predator
-Colossal Predator

Are there plans to add gargantuan and larger creatures in a future box set or another way to obtain them? It's super disappointing that we can't use anything above huge.

So far, nothing has been announced.

Paizo has said in the past that anything larger than huge wouldn't look good enough on quasi-two dimensional cardboard.

Personally, having seen gargantuan paper/cardboard minis, i find them the same quality as huge minis.
It's also not a big problem putting them on two large bases.

It will be interesting to see if Pathfinder Second Edition will change the size of some monsters down from colossal and gargantuan to huge, as d&d 5E has done.

Are these pawns numbered? (All the Pathfinder Bestiary Boxes were numbered, and most of the Pathfinder pawn sets were numbered, but so far none of the Starfinder ones have been. It's really help to have them labelled and numbered.)
