I've noticed that Ultimate [Blank] and [Blank] Adventures Books will sometimes be released in close proximity to AP's that share the same flavor - Hell's Rebels AP and Ultimate Intrigue; Strange Aeons AP and Horror Adventures, etc.

Could we be seeing a Planar-based AP in the near future? :)

AP#131: War for the Crown #5 looks to take place mainly in Axis.

I am sure we will get a planar based/focused AP...one day.

The three new zero HD races each get a 2 page bestiary entry.

What went into the decision to give them more page space than the Bestiaries normally do, but less than the races in Ultimate Wilderness did?

When I saw the races in Ultimate Wilderness get the featured race treatment of six pages I was excited and hoped it was indicative of how we would get new races in the future (my hope for an Advanced Race Guide 2 has long since died haha). No matter the case I am happy to see new races come out (and some races get fleshed out) with the two newest books and I hope that trend continues.

If I had to guess they're keeping the writeup, alternate racial traits and FCBS on the 2 pages like normal and any racial archetypes and equipment (if there are any) are in the other chapters with the other archetypes and equipment writeups.

Well they might not get those options at all. Unlike Ultimate Wilderness this book is more campaign/world building info then a player options book.

It doesn't mean any of those options will be for the new races. I think you guys need to manage your expectations.

The fact that this is primarily a GM book, and space was as at a premium, and because this is how we normally introduce new races, is what led to the decision to treat the three new races first as Bestiary entries.

(Taking Ultimate Wilderness as an example, two of the three "new" races were ones that we first introduced as monsters. The third one was an exception to that general rule, but even then the CATEGORY of monster [leshy] wasn't new.)

Here's hoping one of the higher level monsters is Chaugnar Faugn. since their origin in the novella was a form of Astral Plane, it would make a lot of sense

Who knows what will be in this book's bestiary so maybe you will get your wish...or at least something you really like;)

Just another month or so to see the final cover art:)

I always enjoy the monsters they make in both games, but I enjoy them better when they tease us mercilessly about the possibility of a CR 20-30 non-outsider in a book about other planes of existence. I would hazard a guess and say it's either a Great Old One or one of the Eldest. both of which would be highly enjoyable. Dragon, they revealed earlier that one of the higher level creatures is mythological in origin, if it's one of the Eldest, It could be Ragadahn or Magdh, and we'd be given our first Eldest stat block. until then, my expectations will be for awesomeness.

Well, I certainly hope folks enjoy this book as much as they can. ^_^

I'm sure all the setting content in this book is going to be useful for 1E and 2E, as they have said there're no dramatic changes to the setting, so I'm still excited about it. I'm just guessing how long will it take for us to be able to play a ganzi, for example, in a 2E game.

I'm definitely curious about that too. I'm very excited for them. ^_^

I don't see how much the mechanics of the planes could change, especially since it's not a common complaint about planar travel. At least...not that I've seen.

Also I want to know more about this book! :)

It saddens me this will be the last hardcover.

Here's hoping that these new races are easily convertible to PF2. Either way, I'm still getting this book.

It has me pretty mad. They couldn't fit in at least one more Bestiary at least? As like a going away present for us who don't want to go to 2E PF?

Right away, but the book with Humans in it won't be available until 2024.

It gets a few sentences of info on a page filled with "other demiplane" mentions, but not its own page.

Cool. Now I can start porting in Stradh to the Worldscape. :p ;)

I'm anxious to see the new art for the ganzi and the other two half-blooded races.

I'm also looking forward into seeing the planes illustrated and their "maps".

It is a shame we never got half-creature templates for law and chaos based outsiders:(

Likewise, I can no longer support a WotC 2.0 after this myself.

I'm not sure we ever promised "new art" for the Ganzi. I know I didn't. I like the existing art at it's what we're using.

Since the ganzi are chaos-infused and thus have more variability than most races, it would've been nice to see another representation to establish some range, but it's no big deal. I'm good with reusing the original art.

Chaos infused equating to "everyone looks different" is certainly one way to take things, but that makes it very difficult to establish a look for a race. It's already pretty tricky with tieflings and aasimars already, with them being so varied in appearance.

That said, we have expanded the ganzi a bit so that there's a bit more variety in their abilities (and thus appearance) depending on where their chaos comes from.

My #1 question is whether or not there are new race specific class archetypes for the Undine, Ifrit, Oread, and Sylph races. There's not much variety in the current archetypes. They are mostly druid archetypes, as I remember.

My #2 question is how many of those archetypes will be PFS legal.

Answer #1: None are race specific.

Answer #2: Hopefully all of them, since I had John Compton do a secondary dev pass on them all.

I would recommend against trying that. I have lost track of how many great Paizo products have been removed from the timestream because of accidental time travel paradoxes. ;)

I just need a fusion engine and something to fold space and time myself...

Then I'm in Nidal! ;)

So, will we get anything on the planar and primal dragons in this book? It would be interesting to see how these dragons fit into the fabric of these planes and the roles they are suspected to play, rather than just assuming that their main concern is collecting enough treasure to make fighting them worthwhile to the next group of heavily-armed vagrants of an appropriate APL to stumble by.

A little bit, yeah, but not a lot. I think that most of them got a paragraph or so of flavor text.
