Down in the Flood

As the adventurers work to track down the missing colonists, the trail leads to a nearby island. There, they discover the submerged ruins of a cathedral dedicated to a now-dead god; the site has become a lair of an ichthyic monster and its cunning minions. The adventurers must fight their way through flooded chambers and vicious monsters to rescue the kidnapped colonists and learn of a greater threat to the region—and to humanity as a whole.

This volume of Pathfinder Adventure Path continues the Ruins of Azlant Adventure Path and includes:

  • "The Flooded Cathedral," a Pathfinder adventure for 7th-level characters, by Mikko Kallio.
  • A double-sized article exploring the divine beings worshiped in ancient Azlant, by Adam Daigle.
  • An under-the-hood look at the ancient world’s marvelous clockwork creations, by Mikko Kallio.
  • A bestiary of terrifying monsters and fantastic creations, by John Compton, Kalervo Oikarinen, and David Schwartz.

Question: Will the article on the lost gods of Azlant be like those of the Ancient Osirian & Mythos pantheons from Mummy's Mask & Strange Aeons?
Or just basic information such as alignment, areas of concern, symbol, an epithet or two, favored weapons, & domains (at least)??

Please & thank you.

Yep, I plan on following the same format used for the Ancient Osirion and Elder Mythos deity articles.

So, Dreams of the First Empire ?

I would love some books dedicated to past time periods to help us adventure in exciting times of Golarion's past

Can we hope for such a book about Azlant in its full glory if this AP sells well ?

Will the article about the ancient gods include Curchanus? I'm really curious to know more about him and Desna.

Looking forward to running this AP :-)

It won't include Curchanus. James and I were talking about the article and realized that Curchanus' inclusion in the list of Azlanti gods in Pathfinder #39 was an error, as Curchanus died long before the height of the Azlanti empire and as such he wouldn't have been worshiped in Azlant.

Keep in mind, this article is set up like the Ancient Osirion pantheon article in Mummy's Mask or the Elder Mythos article in Strange Aeons, so you're not going to get more than a column about Acavna (which will include areas of concern, domains, subdomains, and favored weapon at the minimum).

Azlanti Gods? Will Desna and teh other already Core Deities get any screen time in that article?

That's what? Abadar, Acavna, Achaekek, Amaznen, Desna, Groetus, Lissala Nurgal, the Peacock Spirit, Pharasma, Shelyn, Ysdersius and Zura?

Also, I assume it will include Fluumphs.

Strat,

I'm assuming it will be older ones, not necessarily the ones known. Maybe.

And because the PCs explore an Azlanti cathedral in the adventure, there's going to be tons of religious history and lore about a particular deity in the adventure itself.

Gorbacz wrote:

Heheh, yes, 100% of Finland's Paizo contributors worked on this product. It was a dream come true to get a chance to write an AP volume for Paizo, AND it was pretty awesome to brainstorm monsters with Kalervo Oikarinen, who's also a Finn.

Bad Puns:
Can't wait to see the Finnished product!

You might get a chance to fight some of the monsters designed by Kalervo Oikarinen. It's going to be a K.O.!

Also, it is a well-known fact that the Aboleths have Finns!

Anyways, none of this would have been possible without my favorite Texan Adam Daigle, mighty Mark Moreland, and everyone else at Paizo! Thank you!!! :)

Also the stuff on clockwork creations sounds interesting. But is it just clockwork creatures or does it include items(both magical and mundane) as well?

Quite the dapper aboleth, there.

He does have a nice circlet.

Jeez, it takes me so ridiculously little to become hyped for a new module... One only needs to slap an aboleth on the cover, and I already start checking what savings I have left.

I don't mean to provide a penalty on that Will save (who am I kidding? That's my job!), but if you're into aboleths I strongly recommend picking up this entire Adventure Path. :)

I also love Aboleths as enemies.

Unfortunately there are no prepainted minis for huge ones, so pawns it is for the time being. ;-(

My standard AP question to whoever gets this one before me...what are the monsters in this one's bestiary?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm also making a request to those that are getting the PDF. Could you share the name and portifolio of the divine beings worshiped in ancient Azlant? Thanks! ;)
