5 stars based on price

5/5

Okay, I just picked this up for $23 to my door. I am basing my rating on this price.
All three had good paint jobs and well applied decals. Nice sculpts and look to be sturdy for tt use. I would not pay full MSRP, but I am cheap.
So the ratings are as follows
Under $25 in hand is a 5 start rating, enjoy!
over that I will give it 4 stars just for value

Better paintjobs than the Corpse Fleet pack!

4/5

GOOD:
-Very sturdy, easily survive a fall from the table or higher.
-Good sculpts.
-Great paintjob on the "Ringworks Wanderer" (the small yellow shuttle).
The "Kevolari Venture" (large red starship) also looks good.
The third huge ship has a mediocre paintjob.

BAD:
-Unless with the prototypes, the elevation is the same for all three starships so that only the small one does fit in the hex before the larger starships.
-There are just stickers under the hex-bases with the names on them.

UGLY:
-The suggested retail price is way too high - $12 for one ship is ridiculous.
-You'll want more of the small ship.
-You have to rip open the package to get at the minis.

If you can get them cheaper than srp or if you are a collector, they are totally worth it!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The ships look much more detailed on these pictures!

they look nice enough no question but the price point is off putting. i can live with tokens for pcs and monsters but kind of thought three dimensional ships would help eliminate facing questions. at these prices i will mark the plastic base with f/l/b/r and go with tokens.

They look amazing and while the price is a little steep at 12 dollars a model roughly for painted models we will just have to see.

If we´re lucky november.

But it could very well become december.

I hope we´ll get them this year. ;-)

Moved to march 2018!

Here we are in March, and not even an updated ETA, let alone actual minis.

Gotta agree with the others re: high price. Especially considering the relatively small role starship combat tends to play so far in both the AP and SFS. In SFS, the starship combat is usually 1 encounter within a scenario, and occurs in perhaps 1 scenario in 3. The AP seems about the same. Of course, with homebrew campaigns, the ratio could vary wildly. Still, $35 + shipping for 3 minis is pretty steep, especially since you either will only use 2 for one-on-one combats, or will need more than 3 ships for more complicated combats. And again, they'll only see use every 3rd session or so, and almost certainly not for an entire session.

Any idea on when we'll see an updated ETA?

I don't think these will be available before may or even june 2018, if ever.
Why?
Because wave 1 of the unpainted kickstarter minis are supposed to ship then.
So far only a few prototypes have been "produced".
If the first wave KS includes these ship minis, there will be enough additional ones produced, which then need to be painted by Ninja Division staff.
I wouldn't be surprized if these got cancelled, though.

ETA update - these are currently in manufacturing and we have seen and approved samples coming off the production line. They should be available for sale starting at GenCon, and should reach stores later in August.

None of these ships actually appear in an AP volume so far, but they would none the less make for some good stand-ins for some enemy craft.

I hope we'll get some pictures soon.

"Hey Marco, Yes we can confirm that the pre-paints have begun to arrive in distribution and we've received ours for Paizo.com.

Ninja Division has not set a uniform street date for these so the next step for us is to try and find the best date to begin shipping them out to those that pre-ordered from us. Most likely this will begin later this week so get your pre-orders in while supplies last (or go to your local FLGS and grab/order them)."

Woot. Found out that my local game store had the iconic sets now and picked up some packs. Now if only Ninja Division would get cracking to getting that Vesk Fleet set in prepainted plastic form.

After seeing the quality of the iconic minis (see my reviews), I'm not gonna drop $36 for three ships, all of which are the size of small or medium figures. I really don't know what Ninja Division is smoking to think that their price point is reasonable for what you are getting. Their product is marginally better than Wiz Kids, but not $12 per mini for a small/medium sized fig better.

I agree.

Buy them from online-shops for $10 less. ;-)
