Creatures from Another World

The Starfinder Roleplaying Game arrives in August 2017, but the first aliens are landing right now! Within this top-secret dossier, you'll find a dozen otherworldly foes both bizarre and familiar, from the asteroid-dwelling sarcesians who ride solar winds on wings of light to technomagical undead horrors capable of ruling forever as the sinister Bone Sages of Eox. While all the creatures in this book are designed for use with Starfinder, all can be easily converted for use with Pathfinder, so there's no need to wait until August to start battling invaders from space!

Inside this book, you'll find:

  • A dozen alien creatures from throughout Golarion's solar system.
  • Player-race information to let you be the alien, from the atrophied psychic creatures called contemplatives to the bug-like haan who float across gas giants on balloons of spun webbing.
  • Instructions for easily converting Starfinder creatures into Pathfinder foes.
  • Sneak previews of some of the new abilities and rules systems featured in Starfinder.

Take your Pathfinder campaign to the stars with this official manual of Starfinder aliens!

Release: This special 16-page rulebook was created for Free RPG Day on June 17, 2017. The print edition will be available for sale and a free download will be available on paizo.com starting July 1, 2017.

Can anyone give the correct sniper rifle damage officially?

Probably 1d10.

Maybe 1d8. In a preview game streamed on twitch, I'm pretty sure the operative sniper rifle was doing 1d8, although that could have been the trick attack.

It's a blatant typo, should be 1d108.

I tried to get this yesterday, but I couldn't. Can anyone please tell the monsters?

The book is 16 pages including the ToC, 3 pages of rules/conversion notes & OGL (Starfinder is still a derivative of D&D 3.5).

Creatures:

  • Bloodbrother - CR 7 Magical Beast (native to Verces)
  • Contemplative - CR 2 Monstrous Humanoid (native to Akiton)**
  • Ellicoth - CR 9 Magical Beast (native to Eox)
  • Space Goblin - CR 1/3 Humanoid (native to Golarion Station)**
  • Haan - CR 3 Monstrous Humanoid (native to Bretheda)**
  • Ksarik - CR 4 Plant (native to Castrovel)
  • Necrovite - CR 13 Undead (native to Eox)
  • Orocoran - CR 6 Aberation (native to Aucturn)
  • Security Robot - CR 4 Construct (native to Abollan - need more info on this.)
  • Sarcesian - CR 5 Humanoid (native to the Diaspora)

**- indicates that PC racial rules are included in the creature description!

The Space Pirates are a special case, they are humans with the soldier template added.

F.Y.I.: Many of the Starfinder rules for creatures were introduced in Pathfinder Unchained.

So sad :(
I tried 6 places trying to get this on FRPG Day.
Only one place had some left but you had to play a space Pathfinder session to get it.
Seems everyone and their mom grabbed this uber early and people were taking more than their share at several locations so when I got there I rolled 1's.

I'll be glad to get the PDF but really wanted to grab a print copy to enjoy today :(

In your case, it really is "Sufferin' Succotash". :(

The Sarcesian also has PC racial rules. Presumably they don't have access to those rifles that do a d810 of damage. ;)

I've heard the monster rules use something similar to PF unchained's simplified monster rules, is that true?

Yeah, my local shop had a line 30+ people long waiting to get in.

That's disappointing, I was hoping them saying that was a slight exaggeration.

YESSSSSSS, we get Space Goblins as player races right off the bat! That just made my day.

Ok, I finally got a copy and I noticed that none of the creatures has a Treasure listing, and the introduction doesn't say what type of treasure they have, which it should have if you're converting to Pathfinder. Are there even rules for treasure in Starfinder?

We know that item have both prices and levels to guide giving them out as treasure to PCs. The lack of a treasure entry in the monster listings suggests that there should be some independent information in the core rulebook about what goodies the GM should have them carrying in addition to their weapons and armor.
