The northern tracts of shadow-cloaked Nidal have long been a land of independence and defiance, but when a desperate refugee emerges from the earth's depths, the locals reach out for aid. This mysterious arrival desperately seeks help in saving his people—an ancient race that's become a willing thrall to shadow—before they unleash an unfathomable darkness upon the world. Cradle of Night is an adventure for 8th-level characters that leads heroes into the depths of the Darklands, the subterranean wilds of the Pathfinder world. There, adventurers must uncover the history of the elusive caligni race and learn one of the greatest mysteries of the Plane of Shadow if they're to have any hope of preventing the rebirth of a shattered god.

Actually, I've ordered it via this website and it's on my shelf now. I'd still like a PDF, though

Now you're just rubbing it in :)

And your tags are still different than mine for no apparent reason, too!

Curiouser and curiouser ....

And a third-party, out-of-print, impossible to get ahold of module certainly is no indicator about the health of Paizo's module line.

Thankfully, we are in this product description thread, which does indicate a commitment to continuing the line.

I'm not sure how I feel about this latest delay.

When I started off w/ PF subscriptions, I was in for the AP, the Campaign Setting, and the Players Companions. I later got the Modules and PF Tales. But then I felt like there was too much product being rushed out in the CS and PC lines, so I dropped them (reluctantly) and started getting things on a case by case basis. Which is fine I guess. But currently, w/ the Module and PF Tales lines moribund (I understand at least part of the reasons for the latter's issues), I'm feeling a bit...well, not sure of the right word. "Uneasy" about the state of affairs.

On the one hand, I have enough materials to last the rest of my natural life. On the other hand, it's fun to get new stuff. I guess I'll just continue to hang in there, and hope it all works out for these lines.

Not really different, I just have some more. Or am I missing something?

Wait, this is being put off for like a year?

As I understand it, Paizo don't know exactly when it'll be released, but they need to input a date in their system.

what the point here

Just MHO but maybe this line is suffering form personal to work on it because so much has been diverted to Starfinder.

^ Exactly what I fear has been happening ever since they announced Starfinder. Not a fan. It appears PF has suffered in some ways ever since. Like it's become the stepchild or something. Ugh.

I chalk it up to employee churn taking a lot of institutional knowledge out of the company, personally.

I haven't found a down turn in quality of the pathfinder products I've gotten since the release of Starfinder.

Ruins Of Azlant is way better then i thought it would be, Potions And Poisons looks like fun, and I've already killed a character with the Traps And Treasures pawns I got for Christmas.

I had preordered this from an online gaming store :(

It's the worst selling PF line, and you start conserving ammunition with the worst selling lines, simple.

So, like, did you throw it at him or something? ;)

Yes.

Same thought has crossed my mind.....but I keep chalking it up to grasping for a reason....and it may simply be convenient timing.

I have not looked into Starfinder...not my cup-o-tea.

I would assume the quality is comparable to Pathfinder materials of late ?

The Module line has been the most expendable for years, since before Starfinder was a twinkle in James Sutter's eye. Even its intended frequency has steadily declined, from 12 per year to 6 per year to 4, even as release dates slipped fairly often within that schedule. Its problems clearly predate Starfinder.

Whacked in the head by a trap, literally. What a way to go.

I've been buying old modules and I'm not done, either. The Harrowing and Academy of Secrets are up next, getting shoehorned into CoCT. If this one makes it out this year, we'll probably run through it as well.

The Harrowing is amazing, I highly recommend it!

That is what happens when things don't sell well. Then you stop making them.

I like the modules. I'm not creative enough to do my own stuff, and I don't want to use single books from APs or non-Golarion material during periods we aren't actually running an AP. The modules fill in the gaps nicely. Heck, as I've already said, I'm tying several in to our CoCT campaign, too.

I believe we have the exact same subscriptions, but yours are called out separately for some reason ... but I checked with customer service and supposedly Charter covers the lot.

Most puzzling.

If I were you I wouldn't ask about it, you might lose the extra ones :)

Now to be a bit more relevant:

The modules have always been the least useful thing for me (okay, maybe the Map Folios, but they're pretty darn cool), primarily because I do write pretty much all my own content - thus, only the last couple pages of a module and any cool unique items are about all I use.

I suspect in fact suffering of the module line is because it's really hard to come up with that many good new module ideas and a lot of what might have been developed into the module line instead ends up as PFS material - which is fine by me.

So just realized that this might be final 1e module if it gets released ._. Do have to say that premise is worth of being final one :D

Maybe the "Shattered God" will finally be Orgesh? lol, I know it's probably not, but one can dream.

So given the shift in focus to 2E....will this still be happening ?
I was REALLY looking foreword to more Caligni info.....

I wouldn't worry. They have Pathfinder 1st Edition products scheduled well into 2019, Return of the Runelords and Sandpoint, Light of the Lost Coast (October 2018) coming to mind.
