Part IV: A History of Ashes

1 to 50 of 146 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

I've been waiting a while to run Curse of the Crimson Throne, but I just keep getting distracted by newer, shiny APs. Well, it's time! ;o) I'm looking for a group of about 5-7 characters.

What I need... Like any good PbP game, the momentum comes from player inputs and interaction. I need players that can post regularly, at least once a day, to keep things moving along. I understand real life things come up, and they have priority. All I ask is that you let me know before you take an extended absence.

For the characters... If you're interested in joining, post your character concept here. Looking for a balanced party, of course, so finding an unfilled niche may improve your chances to make the final cut.

The campaign traits for CotCT are all tied to Gaedren Lamm, and are detailed in the Player's Guide. Be sure to look them over carefully and include details on your relationship to him in your character concept.

I don't need the fully stat'd character now, but if you want to get a head start, use a 15-point build and average starting gold. Up front, all of the Paizo published products are in play... except gunslinger... just, no. Choose 1 campaign trait (as above), and 1 other trait.

I want to run this AP gritty, rough, and a little more R-rated than the usual fare. I understand that isn't for everyone, but I ask up front you be respectful to the tone of the campaign. Also, because its a PbP, I plan to run more RP/dialog encounters than just straight tactical battles.

Lastly, while I won't restrict alignments or personality concepts, understand the AP is built around a "heroes of the people" premise. Don't be so anti-social or narcissistic that you hinder the campaign.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'm planning to start next weekend, depending on how many applicants come in. I'll choose the final group once I have enough to choose from...

Oh, and while I'd prefer Crimson Throne 'first timers', I won't bar peeps with previous exposure to the AP. Just let me know up front, and keep the player knowledge to yourself! =D

Here is MannyGoblin. Former Jester of Lamm who wants to feed his hat to the old man. Can you give any suggestions on how to tweak his stats because he used to be a 20 point buy.

I'm not familiar with this AP but this looks cool. Dotting for interest!

First timer for this AP. I think I will submit a halfling cleric of Shelyn and take the Unhappy Childhood trait where she found religion and escaped. I'll write up more of a concept tomorrow, time for bed now.

dotting, I would certainly do a bard, maybe a gnome bard, but have to read the players guide

unless the AP is bad for it, I think prankster bard is my plan

I'll throw my hat into the ring for this one.

I don't have any knowledge of this AP, I'll have to download the Player's Guide, and have a look.

Thinking Wizard. Probably elf.

Have an idea in mind for this. never played this AP have the players guide though but never gone beyond that.

probably play one of my favorite things human fighter. (unarmed fighter)

campaign trait will probably be Love Lost (Widowed)

for Kayla:

dang it joy, you are everywhere

New to this AP. No nothing about it other than it sports a high body count.

I am thinking a fighter type. I am intrigued by the Cad.....
or perhaps something more traditional.

looking at the Orphaned aspect of Lost Love for the trait. More info soon.

Hmm I'd like to apply for this...

Name: Marcel the Wise
Race: Human Male
Class: Rogue (Knife Master/Scout)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Party Role: Damage dealer/Skill monkey
Backstory: Still considering this, but currently considering having Marcel be a respected thief. Taking the 'Framed' trait, he got set up for a botched theft/robbery that he didn't do. Forced out of the Thieves' Guild for murder perhaps? In any case, out to restore reputation and respect.

Kazadarin is from my previous CotCT that fell apart. I will fix him if I make the cut.

Background:

I was 14 when I crossed Gaedren Lamm. I had been one of his “Little Lamms” for as long as I could remember. I have no memories of a mother, a father or siblings, just pain. I am not sure what I did that day, maybe I just didn’t get out of his way fast enough, but what ever it was enough to make Lamm lose it. I can’t remember all of it I guess I kept blacking out. I do remember the smell though, that sicky sweet smell of my own flesh burning. Lamm burned me and left the right side of my face a hideouse mask and scarred me for life. Funny thing is he didn’t intend for that part. He beat me and left me for dead in the bay. I remember the salt water on my face, the pain from it, and blackness. I don’t know how long I floated, never will, but I was found. I was taken in and brought back to health, protected, even loved.
But now I’m back, back in Korvosa, and I am going to send Gaedren Lamm straight to Hell.

Description:

Kazadarin is 6’1” and 225 lbs. The right side of his face is terribly scared, so when talking to people he turns that side of his face away. In public he all ways wears a deep hood to cover his face.

half orc alchemist
role front line fighter/skills
will change info as needed if picked, all other information is in profile.

While, I've tried to get in a few times, I've never gotten to play any Crimson Throne, so I'm a first timer too.

Name: Demitri Severin
Race: Human
Class: Inquisitor of Iomedae
Alignment: Lawful Good
Party Role: Melee and Divine Support with some skills.
Backstory: Former member of the Korvosan Guard. Gaedren kidnapped his daughter and no one was willing to help. So Demitri quit and decided to strike out on his own.

Thumbnail- A privileged son of one of the Dock Families, Pitr was given the best military training in preparation for service as an officer in the Korvosan Guard. Instead, he turned down his commission to drink and whore in the low rent districts. Disowned by his family, Pitr hit bottom recently when his lover, an erotic dancer named Swan, died of a shiver overdose.

campaign trait: addicted friend

Hmm....are you allowing the new Campaign traits from the Varisia sourcebook? I'll quickly throw them up here, since they don't seem to be PRD'd yet

New traits:

Dockside Avenger - No crime is too despicable for Gaedren Lamm and his thugs -- a gang of lowlife murderers, kidnappers, and drug dealers that operate in Korvosa's Midland district. You've lost someone to Lamm, and now you're out for revenge. While Lamm remains alive and free, you are not slain until your hit point total reaches a negative number equal to your Constitution Score + 3. Once Lamm is imprisoned or killed, you lose the former benefit but gain 3 permanent hit points.

Varisian Immunity = Your family is particularly hearty, and has even bassed down tales of a Varisian ancestor who sought to cure (or, some loose-lipped relatives say, create) diseases. You gain a +1 trait bonus on saving throws to resist diseases. Additionally, you are immune to the diseases Vorel's Phage and Blood Veil. You do not need to be of the Varisian ethnicity to take this campaign trait, but if you're not, your background should explain how you have a Varisian ancestor.

Silver Crusade

Been hoping to get into this campaign for ages, here is Parneth a Cleric of Pharesma. I'll update his stats etc when I get time and tidy up his background if I've mucked it around too much since his last effort.

When chosen in a previous CoCT campaign, the game folded before it even got out of the initial set up scene, so pretty much a newbie to the campaign.

In several other campaigns, where I post daily, or at least make sure I see if there are any developments that need a response.

I'd like to join too!

Will post stats ASAP, I have in mind a female Half elf Priest of Calistra, using her charms and wiles to get even with Lamm, as her sister got pregnant after , shall we say, unwanted attention.

Seren is a half-elf rogue Acadamae dropout. Friendly and non-confrontational, he steals magic only .. to make up for his missed opportunity. He's recently been studying with a Nidalese sect.

Primarily will be a illusionist shadowcaster with some rogue burglar splash to back it up.

Looking forward to it.

Ninta Keenfoot
Female Halfling Urban Druid

Background::

Ninta has lived in the shingle district her entire life. Born a rather small and weak female halfling, she was seen unfit for sailor or deckhand work and was abandoned by her parents. Ninta was left in the "streets" of the Shingles all alone. The small halfling fared well for herself the first couple years, but soon after her 11 birthday, Ninta became addicted to Shiver, a drug distilled from the venom of dream spiders.

Many citizens of the shingles fail to the curse of the toxic venom , but most not quite as bad as Ninta. She would spend her days and nights stealing from and manipulating the citizens of Korvosa, just to get her next fix. During these "fixes" Ninta would have strange dreams where she would talk to animals and could understand their feelings. After many years of being a "slave" to Shiver, Ninta met an old dwarf named Dixrant. A follower of Erastill, the dwarf helped young drug addicts get off the street and get their lifes together. Ninta didn't quite adapt at first and it took poor determined Dixrant many attempts to finally steer Ninta of her old ways and show her a new life with Erastil.

Ninta never really accepted the new god, but learned alot about the values of community and family that the god taught, and took much of that with her. During that time, she discovered what she only could explain as "a gift" given to her from all her years of drug abuse, the ability to communicate with animals. When Dixrant felt the time was right, he suggested Ninta join the rest of the world, and asked the halfling if she would like to join him in his quest to save many other drug fueled teens. Like many of Dixrants, fellow "pupils" , Ninta was more the estactic to help.

Ninta enjoyed the work at first but soon got tired of the recurring situation and wanted to get to the bottom of it. Everybody knew Gaedren was the one who ultimately supplied the shiver, but nobody, not the even the city guards, seemed to do anything about it. With Dixrants hesitant permission, Ninta set out on the town to find out how to really take care of this "shiver problem".

Sure! =)

Aha! I've a few character concepts rolling around in my aberrant brain that could submit later tonight after work...this will be fun! Definitely interested in this. ;)

Liberty's Edge

Nomadsage.

I followed your Jade Regent pbp for quite a while, it gave me lots of good ideas for my tabletop game of the same AP.

I've never played Crimson Throne before and am definitely interested in this. Ill be looking to submit either a druid or summoner both summoning focussed to provide meat shields, extra melee options and some secondary healing and blasting from me. Ill have it done this weekend.

Ninta Keenfoot
Female Halfling Urban Druid

Appearance:

At first glance, there is no doubt Ninta is from the Shingles. Ninta is rather young , only 22, but her face is weathered from drug use/life on the streets and her hair is constantly a wild mess. Ninta's bare feet have more callouses and sores then some halflings three times her age. She wears hide armor, obviously reconstructed from many other older pieces and hand me downs, and her pants were at one points meant for humans now trimmed down. Just barely under 2 feet 4 inches, Ninta is a rather small halfling, but her smile is as big as they come.

Party Role:

As a Urban Druid, Ninta has the Community Domain. She will mainly give out boosts ("encourgement") to the other players (bless, bulls strength etc), with some healing as well. She also will have spells to interact with animals.

DM NomadSage:
I am currently in a CotCT PbP. I joined it as a replacement at level 5, as it started the second book. The campaign is moving at a very slow pace, with things moving once a week or less. Please let me know if you'd prefer me not to apply. I would love to apply to join your game, but understand that it might not work for you.

Scarab Sages

Dotting for interest.

That's probably a tougher call on your part, if just to avoid rehashing what you've already done. This AP has been around a while, so I expect there's a lot of people that know the general arc, if not the details, of CT. So, I don't mind if you want to submit a character... just try to keep the player knowledge to yourself, so as not to spoil suprises for the others. =)

DM NomadSage:
Thanks. I'll see if I can come up with an application in the coming days. No worries about spoiling.

Silver Crusade

Dotting. Will read the Player's Guide to see what it's all about. :)

Dotting for interest. Reading up on the player's guide and letting ideas percolate in my head for now.

Lantern Lodge

Dotting for interest.

Have two ideas floating around in my head.
1 a LN human male inquisitor/ninja ... Along the lines of Ezio from Assassins Creed. Working against the law to bring it back in order.
2. a LG Aasimar male cleric/paladin/divine scion. Idea behind him is that he is a fallen angel fighting for redemption. Along the lines of castiel from supernatural.

Silver Crusade

Okay, thinking Alchemist or Wizard with the Framed or Love Lost traits. I'll put up a full profile and background later today.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32

I have also wanted to get into this AP for ages. I think this is going to be my fifth attempt. I see that Magus hasn't been submitted yet, so I call dibs on a Magus. And quite possibly, it will be a Staff Magus.

New Stats for 15 point buy:

Kazadarin Is an Urban Ranger Skirmisher set up with a Switch Hitter build.

Campaign Trait: Tortured

I hear tell that CoCT is a fantastic AP.

I'll post a complete profile for my character, but here's the idea--and let me know if ARG alternate racial traits are acceptable:

Short Background for Melianthe:

Melianthe is a dusk elf Witch of Deception who has seen her fair share of tragedy. Her small tribe in the Churlwood slain by daylight elves, she fled to Korvosa and descended into darkness.
Dusk elves are despised, as many consider them kin to drow, and thus her attempts to honestly integrate into society were met with scorn, and the scorching sun. She soon drifted into Lamm's clutches. Discovering her ability to send messages in dreams, he convinced her that shiver would increase her powers...but instead used her to send messages from her hallucinatory dreams to him and his cronies in order for idle amusement.

Finally breaking free, she huddled under docks and in sewers out of sight, sick with withdrawal, but determined to be herself again. After long months of living in the bowels of Korvosa, shaking off the effects of shiver, she found herself surrounded by crawling arachnid and insectile vermin, and given power by a mysterious dark form just beyond the clusters of arthropods. This form told her that revenge is not always evil, and deception is not always a lie, and unto her a great scorpion came, to be her guide and companion.

Melianthe returned to the streets of Korvosa with new resolve: to heal those who had been made ill by Lamm and others. Disguising her alien beauty beneath a doctor's mask, she treated the sick, found companions if not friends, and bided her time. Revenge is not always evil, but its patience can be matched by its bloodiness.

Hello, there;

I am new to CotCT. Here are my initial ideas for Tarceinus, a (non-archetyped) Magus with the Framed trait:

Background:
Tarceinus (tar-KINE-us), or, informally, Tark, had a promising future as a wealthy scion of a cadet branch of one of the Dock Families. Fit, bright, amibitious – he seemed to be everything Korvosans admire. He was nearing his final Tests at the Academae when the accusation came: his bitter rival had been found floating in the harbor. The dagger that ended his life was lodged in his ribs, the very blade that Tarceinus had been seen to wear, prominently displaying his family crest. A fisherman spouting a tale of witnessed murder…

The trial, an exhausting ordeal in front of the famed ‘Hanging Judge’, eventually cleared him, but it was too little, too late. His family cut him off, and the Academae was spared the scandal of his dismissal for cause by ejecting him for nonpayment. Foruntately, he had an adequacy of brawn and physical talent, backed up by the martial training of his noble house, to fall back on, even when the magical community –especially his former friends at the Academae – abandoned him. Casting about elsewhere, he found the famous Korvoson contempt for failure, for inadequacy. His stint in the Korvosan Guard lasted only months, until his sergeant heard the tale of his shame over a round of drinks. In disgraceful exile, Tarceinus took a job guarding a caravan to Kaer Maga. Running off to the Asylum Stone, they whispered about him. No-one ever expected him to return.

The trip was uneventful, but shortly after arriving in Kaer Maga, he witnessed a bizarre confrontation. One of the city’s Bloatmagi had gone over the edge, laying about the marketplace with fire and lightning in an insane rage. Out of the wreckage of a tavern came a scarred, weathered half-elf to oppose the mad mage, glowing sword in one hand and arcane energy crackling in the other: a Magus.

When the dust cleared, the Magus had a new apprentice. That was two years ago. Now, a new array of martial and magical skills at his disposal, Tarceinus has regained a modicum of his confidence. Time to return to Korvosa. Time to prove his detractors wrong. While the bite of shame and rejection may occasionally shorten his temper, and may make him just a bit reckless in his thirst to prove himself, he is determined to face what comes with the pride and swagger of a Korvosan.

He will start with Gaedren Lamm.

Appearance:
Tarceinus’s family is very close to pure-blooded Chelaxian. He stands about 5’7”, with a wiry, compact build, nearly-blue-black hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin – sporting a few scars from his training and apprenticeship – and clean shaven. He tends to dress in reds, golds, and blacks, as richly as he can afford. The one exception to his ostentation is the plain, disc-pommelled longsword in the worn scabbard at his side: this is a purely practical item, and the fact that it is obviously well-used speaks just as loudly as a jewel in the pommel.

Shadow Lodge

My submission is Jasper Lind. Campaign Trait is Framed (Dropout), he is a Varisian Tattooed Sorcerer Starsoul Bloodline. Fluff here, crunch to follow.

Jasper Lind:

Jasper spent his early years as part of a Varisian caravan, traveling through the back roads and entertaining locals. Despite claims of theft and banditry his family always held to their proud traditions and never took more than their due. That they often welcomed a youth looking for adventure into the troupe seemed only fair to increase their blood, though they often traveled slowly and made life hard for the newcomer for the first week. Those who came to regret their decision found their escape from camp curiously simple and directions home folded neatly in their pack.

Jasper's mother was one such youth, the bored daughter of the local blacksmith. Unlike so many before she stayed with the caravan and used her beauty and brains to improve life about the camp. Meeting Jasper's father there she fell in love and Jasper was the result, born 7 months after their marriage he was considering surprisingly healthy for a baby two months premature.

Shortly into his 7th season with the caravan tragedy struck. A Korvosan lord, offended when the play being performed mocked his family, ordered his guards to attack the troupe. When the magistrates arrived they determined the noble was in the wrong and fined him but all the money in Varisia couldn't alter the fact that Jasper and his sister were now orphans. Questioning the surviving members of the soon to be disbanded troupe determined that their closest living relative on their mother's side lived in Korvosa itself, a wizard of the Acadamae. Over the protests of the troupe both children were taken to this uncle, with many of them wondering if this was the goal of the attack the whole time.

Their uncle Bartimous was a harsh task master, insisting that his nieces children would become as gifted in magic as he himself. Claiming an ancient lineage of magic and holding that his ancestors had once traveled the stars he worked Jasper and Maria as hard as any apprentice twice their age. This work bore fruit in Maria and she soon found herself in Bartimous' favor. Her ability with magic flourished while her brother's amounted to little. Finding himself unable to master even the simplest cantrip Jasper was relegated to cleaning and cooking while his sister studied magic. Although he resented Bartimous for the harshness of his training he never begrudged his sister her talents and they never forgot they were the only family they had left as neither considered Bartimous their real family.

One weekend Jasper found himself driven from the house as his uncle claimed a delicate experiment would be taking place. Although the break was welcome Jasper found himself unsure of what to do with himself and his unaccustomed freedom. Wandering the streets he eventually came upon a Harrow shop. Drawn by some irresistible force he found himself entering the shop and meeting the owner, a young Varisian woman with tattoos along her arms. Dazzled by her smile he quickly agreed to a reading without really understanding what was going on. The sights of symbols he hadn't seen since his childhood overwhelmed him and suddenly four balls of light sprung into being. Jasper's latent talent for sorcery had manifested itself. Recognizing the signs the Harrower explained that Jasper had just become her apprentice and refused to take no for an answer.

Afraid to tell his uncle what had happened Jasper contrived reasons to steal away from his chores and learn more of magic from his new tutor Lerial. As his power grew Jasper found himself discontent with working for his uncle and fled the house after a particularly onerous set of tasks. Running into the night he soon found himself in the wrong part of town. As several thugs accosted him he turned to his power and burned both of them where they stood. Unfortunately for Jasper these two worked for Gaedren Lamm who did not take kindly to his agents being killed. Murdering a local drug addict Gaedren forced a local fisherman to claim Jasper was responsible.

Although Jasper was able to avoid immediate sentencing by proving he had been at Lerial's training this revelation so angered his uncle that Jasper was banished from the house. Maria took it upon herself to prove Jaser innocent but before she could clear his name the fisherman was murdered by Gaedren. Unable to return home and unwilling to endanger Maria or Lerial by associating with them, Jasper now seeks to clear his name by confronting Gaedren Lamm.

Fizzwiddle Glockenflefor XXII (But you can call him Fizzy)

WIS 13
CHA 16

Favored class +1 skill per level

Feats: Casual Illusionist

Traits: Orphaned +2 to Perform:Sing or Comedy, Rapscallion

Alternate Race Traits: Magical Linguist and Eternal Hope

Backstory:

Backstory: Fizzy came to Korvosa like so many others to attend the Acadamae. Unfortunately, upon arrival his very first act was to prank the Dean. He was promptly thrown out. Not to be deterred he made his way towards the local taverns assuming that with his incredible abilities as a performer that he would very shortly be filthy rich.

He got the filthy part right. He soon found himself performing in the most squalid tavern in the city, and sleeping on the street. Temporarily brought down a couple of pegs he met and fell in with a Family of humans, also living in the slums. Over the following months he became, though older than the Matriarch, another son in the large family. His meager income actually allowed them to begin to pull themselves up from their station. Things were finally looking up until she was murdered, and Fizzy was left to raise the family himself.

Now that the boys are old enough to work and support themselves, Fizzy has learned who was responsible. Gaedren Lamm. It is time for payback, as only a Gnome with the amazing talents of Fizzwiddle Glockenfleffor the XXII can deliver.

Waves to both Ed and Balodek.

I'll be working up the character sheet for my little cleric under this alias.

I'd like to submit Travigan Frost for consideration.

He's starting out a tempermental urban barbarian searching for his little neice. If selected, he'll pick up some levels in sorcerer and steer toward the Dragon Disciple prestige class. As such, I could focus on either the sorcerer or barbarian levels prior to the PrC, depending on group make-up and how the story progresses.

I have zero exposure to Crimson Throne, but it is one that I've been interested in playing for ages, I just haven't had the opportunity. I'm on the East Coast (GMT -5) and I have access to the forums throughout the day at the office, so I'm able to post multiple times a day most days.

Thanks for the consideration and best of luck to all these excellent applicants! You've got a tough decision ahead of you here, NomadSage =)

The woman leaned on the counter of her market stall and took a long draw from her pipe. "Malcom? Yes there was always something odd about Malcom. First off not knowing who his parents were. Well it's not that uncommon not to know exactly who your father is even if you have a name on the official paper, but to not know your mother....Mind you what was really odd was that the street didn't know. I mean it's as may be that no one will tell you to your face that your mother worked the street and died in a stable but the street knows. Not with this boy though. No one knew. I suppose that was why he took up with old Mr. DeVarre. He was another strange one. Living in that huge garret with all those books. 'Spose he took the boy in cause he was lonely. Worked out well though. Mr. DeVarre started getting out into the neighborhood again and you can't say the boy didn't take to the learning.
Pity about what happened with the old man being run down like that. Now don't go telling the boy this but the street says that was no accident, and that is all I'm saying about that. I have to live here you know."

She takes another hard draw on the pipe. The smell of the rough tobacco floats in the still air.

"The boy? No I don't rightly know where he is. I'm sure he be around presently. Seems to come and go as he pleases now."

PWO here. Submitting Malcom DeVarre. NG Human Cleric of Irori changing to Urban ranger at second level. So I am shooting for a fighter slot not the divine caster slot. That said Malcom will have a spell list from day 1 and can use wands/scrolls so will be able to help. Domains are Thought and Restoration. Campaign trait is Orphaned. It is a strange idea but I think having a fighter with a few spells up his sleeve would be fun to play.
Malcom is very motivated to stop Lamm. This will change to an overall desire to help the city/area as the campaign develops. Please note I am not 100% sure on Urban ranger. My initial idea was Spirit Ranger and I may well go back. In either case I will be a melee ranger. I will decide by 2nd level of course.
Best of luck with what looks to be a tough choice and I hope to see you in game.

Since you said gritty,

stats:

Varisian Bravo (Fighter/Cad archetype)
Trait: Love Lost (Widowed)

The plan is to stay a fighter(Cad) all the way through, but I'm open to the Duelist prestige class.

Guts:

Ticaria had always dreamed of a life away from the road, so when Valerio bent his knee to her he suggested taking their nuptuals in Korvosa. Overcome with wonder she agreed, and tied the knot that sealed her fate.

Valerio awakened just hours after the brutal beating he sustained when they took her from him. Haunted by his lost loves parting screams, he searches the dockside of Korvosa for all those responsible. They picked the wrong man .... the wrong man.

I am a Crimson Throne first timer.

Here is my submission. Alessio was framed for murder by Lamm and was prevented from enrolling in the Acadamae as a result. Lamm then cleared Alessio in a humiliating manner and ensured that he definitely would never be accepted at the Acadamae. This cost Alessio his career and home as well as made him the subject of jokes around Korvosa for weeks.

Alessio wants to humiliate Lamm in return more than he wants to kill him. If he could do so and gain prestige sufficient to erase the memory of his indignity at Lamm's hands he would leap at the chance.

I am new to this AP and would love to get a chance to play it. I propose to build an orphaned Shoanti youth, now urban Barbarian, with the Unhappy childhood trait. He would have been sold to Gaedren by a rival tribe at a very young age, and after years of abuse got away and made it back to his tribe (with some help from a good soul). He is now just arrived back in Korsova, newly tattooed with a vow to end this slaving trader of children.

He and his wife suffered at the hands of the Shiver trafficked by Lamm, and now Eli is on a mission to put an end to the trade, starting with the man that started it all for he and his wife. His alchemical skills protect him from the worst of the drug's effects, or so he thinks. Eli has a dark side however, growing and influencing his subconscious the longer he continues to experiment with it.

Background in profile. Crunch forthcoming. Not sure exactly what direction the character will take just yet, mechanically, but his background suggests a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde evolution which will be fun to explore as time goes on.

I am new to this adventure path, for the record. :)

Good luck to all!

Edit: Crunch added. Not completely settled. May modify traits or Extracts known, or add an Archetype.

Maeve here. This is the character background and crunch - I'll try for a description later, but should hew pretty close to the profile pic.

Background:
Rosa grew up as one of the multitude of children of Korvosa's working class, expected to make her own way with her parents barely able to provide a roof over their heads and time spent as a family during the evenings. Rosa mostly ended up taking menial labor jobs, sweeping floors and maybe occasionally chopping vegetables.
This should have been all there was to it, but for the various small-time gangs of the city. The Cerulean Soceity may be the official thieves guild, but it doesn't take recognition to get together and shake down kids and the weak. Rosa found herself the target of some of these types of gangs, and in her desperation the young girl ducked into a large building, hiding behind a statue. Then smiled as the owner of the house chased her tormentors out with a whip.
For Rosa had round herself in one of the many temples of Calistria that dotted the city, one actually in with the Ceruleans. While they were most definitely a house of ill repute, this particular temple also housed some of the city's information brokerage business, giving the city their cut of everything and overall staying below the radar. While she wasn't taken in, the head of the temple recognized a born Calistrian when she saw one and gave Rosa a basic job, beginning to train her in the arts she would need as an adult.
Eventually, early in her teens, her parents found out what Rosa was doing for her living even as she moved up the ladder and was kicked out of the house for it, but by this point she was welcome to live in the temple full time and even to begin taking up her real duties -managing the flow of information even while she developed her divine magic further.
For a time, she resisted field work. She preferred to stay in the temple and manage the information brought in from outside. But that came to an end the day Gaedren Lamm started frequenting the temple.
Rosa never took him as a client, but several girls who did wound up being paid, not in the accepted currencies but in shiver. This was bad enough, but what finally got Rosa to the point where she would leave the temple was when a girl refused his "payments." Ever since, Lamm hasn't been coming to this particular nightspot, and suddenly the docks are hearing rumors of a beautiful girl who lures men off for a tryst, only to find their wallets even lighter than they remembered.
Rosa almost knows what she needs to. Soon she'll have everything, and then she can find the people and tools to bring him down.
