Beaky is a beast. He is definitely king of the owlbears. His size is massive and the sculpt is very good. He does dwarf the other owlbear minis that I have and I'd probably care more if it didn't look so good but since he does, he is one of my favorite owlbears to date.

Beaky is too big

3/5

I like oversized minis and this is the first time where I've felt that a large mini was too big.

Owlbears are not that powerful or big (8' tall), and this mini is larger than all of my other large base minis, including my giants (12-16 feet) and iron golems (12'). The only large mini that is the same size is the Sandpoint Devil. And beaky is by far the heaviest large mini, equal or heavier than my huge minis.

I liked everything else about this mini, the size is just too large. Beaky should have been the size of the ogres or perhaps the fire giant.

Ignore the haters

OK, yes this thing has a bit of an odd pose - but that's what imagination is for. This Owlbear has become one of the best received NPCs I've ever put into a campaign.

WhoooRAR!

5/5

A HEAVY miniature, I'll say that right off the bat. I could tell when I got my second one by the weight of the booster. Don't drop it on your foot! The colors are very nice, with shadings of browns that make it less of a lump on the table and allow it to stand out. There is a brushing of white from the bottom of the head down the chest on the feathers, a nice touch there. Like others I'd have preferred a different pose, but not enough that it bothers me overly. the face is very detailed, better than most humanoids that we see. A great owlbear mini!

Gigantic Owlbear!

3/5

Good gods, that's big! This is THE largest Owlbear out there. The pose is less than menacing (but Owlbears rarely are). Paint job is decent, which is a rarity in this set.
