Possible Falcon's Hollow pbp

Gamer Connection

Is anyone interested in a Falcon's hollow play by post game?

My introduction to the inner sea region was through Falcon's hollow and its always held a special place in my heart since then. Due to technological ineptitude on my part I would like someone else to DM since I am unable to make maps but I know I would play. I would also DM if someone could handle the map making process for me.

Anyone else interested in a game? Could be homebrew or from the early paizo modules.

I would like to play. I do not know much about Falcon Hallow and would like some more information on it.

hereis a link to some information. Its basically a small logging village set near a forest.

Seems like a good starting place for a PbP and for maps what types did you mean or like detailed or rough or what? Do you have a lot of experience with PbP on these forums if so? I myself do not have much experience with PbP here.

basically the only thing I would need maps for is for combat situations. I've never ran a pbp here but I've played in and run quite a few others on other sites.

Oh. Well I would like to play and for map idea my current PbP group uses google doc spreadsheet others could get suggestion for map tools.

If you end up running a game I'd be interested in playing - I've had a character ready for ages now. I'm already DMing a PbP on these forums and wouldn't want to commit to running another one though. I'd offer to help with maps, but my maps are rather crude spreadsheets. They do the job, but aren't by any means fancy.

Ringtail is the DM in the PbP game I was just talking about.

Well I'll run it if we can find another person who can do maptools or google docs for me.

So I am; would you look at that? Didn't recognize your not-alias. :)

I'd be willing to make maps for you if nobody else wanted to.

This is about as pretty as my maps get however.
And it would be a few days before my home PC gets repaired and I can make them on a regular basis.

I can make them Ringtail gives me something to do. If I do it I would use google docs. I do not see why the maps need to be overly detailed for combat. Also I have an idea for an Inquisitor of Gorum if that is cool.

And I've a Shoanti Barbarian in my profile if you'd like to browse it.

Okay seeing how there are at least 2 players interested I'll throw up some details.

I'm going to be running Paizo's old module Hollow's last hope.

Players will begin as level 1 characters
average starting gold
roll 2d6 add 6 for stats
Any paizo material is allowed(including Ultimate Magic)

Ultimately I will want 4-6 players so lets see if we can get some more interest in this.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 132d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 132d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 132d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 122d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 92d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
second set
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 162d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 92d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 142d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 102d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 172d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
I should have Ultimate Magic sometime this week. Last Hope okay. Posted two stat roll because first one was bit low. I am willing to lower the 17 in the second set to a 15.
Edit: Looking at Ringtails my first set do not even look that bad so up to you.

Background:

Fisnis was born from the dalliance of a high noble girl and an adventuring elf. Once her family found out about this they thought of a way to get rid of the baby. They decided to give the baby to the church of Gorum to take care of as if he was an orphan. After many years of thinking he was an orphan is birth mother came to visit him in secret to tell him he was the son of a noble family. This shattered Fisnis's foundation for life. This made him a very cold person after learning his life was a lie. After this Fisnis decided to root out dishonesty where ever he could. He decided to be an Inquisitor. Fisnis hates liars and dishonest people. He is very cold to others because he does not want to let anyone close so they can change his life again as his mother had done years before.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
I'll edit rolls into my alias' profile later.
EDIT: My, how underwhelming. I'll roll a second set just in case it is cool. If not, I'll live.
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Yuma Ahote's background is already in his profile. I may need to tailor it to the story slightly, however.

There is a good chance that I won't be able to get online again until Friday afternoon, so if you could keep me in consideration for recruitment until then, I'd appreciate it.

@ Mrdarknlight: your 17 is fine.
@Ringtail: ouch...the dice roller isn't liking you tonight...well I'm sure you can work with it. That looks like a standard point buy or close to it actually.

I think I'm going to start an OOC thread so as we get players they can post their characters up there so I can review them. We'll keep this going for recruitment.

here is the OOC thread so ringtail and Mrdarknlight post all your character creation stuff over there.

Scarab Sages

I'd be interested if you wouldn't mind someone who is pretty much new to PbP. Played decent amount of PF, GMed lots of other stuff. Will have a character concept shortly if it's cool.

Best,
Drillboss

Yeah I don't mind someone who's new. When you have your character finished you can post it in the OOC thread I started there is a link up thread.

Scarab Sages

Awesome! I'm poring through my PDFs right now. I'll get some stuff up soon. Should I roll here then post there?

I'd be interested if you don't mind having another newbie to PbP along for the ride.

Hello people that are trying to get into this PbP.

Scarab Sages

Hello to you too sir.

Sovereign Court

Im intrested as well! Sounds like a good begining area and will have something posted in a bit!
I'll do my rolls now as well
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Im curious as well about do you want us to post our characters here or in the ooc thread??

Scarab Sages

My rolls:

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14

And I've narrowed down to a couple of concepts. What kind of peeps are the other newcomers thinking?

Sovereign Court

Not sure still deciding myself what are your concepts? Just curious Drill Right now narrowing it down between sorc, rogue, or ranger

Scarab Sages

A second set for good measure, since that seems to be okay around here:

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13

EDIT: Haha... worse. Okay, definitely meant to have the first one.

Scarab Sages

I always have a running short list, so here's what I'm vacillating between (can always add more):

Desert Druid or Menhir Savant Druid with the Desert Domain (caster build). Would go Human, Elf, or Half-elf. Desert Mystic type, very in tune with the shifting sands. A nomad who has wandered his way out of the desert, or perhaps who has been forcefully relocated.

Similarly, could go with a Dwarven Cave Druid, done with either the Darkness Domain or a Bat Companion depending on whether I was focusing on melee or casting, and I could go with either depending on party needs.

One idea I'd been toying with is a Crossblooded Fey/Serpentine Gnome Sorcerer. On a magic overload. Extremely good at being deceptive, but trying to deal with the implications of that power. Mechanically the loss of spell level is somewhat compensated for by the arcana. Could lead to interesting (but I promise, productive) tension with the inquisitor.

Human or Half-Orc Possessed Dark Tapestry Oracle with the Haunted Curse - dealing with things from beyond the stars coming knocking, but trying to use their power for good.

Aasimar Cavalier, who wanted to be a Paladin to get in touch with his celestial heritage but has a chronic disconnect with the divine. Instead, he wants to be good, and honor what he believes to be his Shield Archon heritage by protecting the common man.

Grippli or Goblin Hedge Witch (i.e., Witch Doctor). Guided by his patron to this town...

Many concepts, as you see. Elaborate on yours a bit more?

Sovereign Court

for this game so far got these:

Human can either be bard, rogue, or ranger. All of his family has been apart of the Lumber buisness, he has no desire to work in the forest he would rather goof around the town and find adventure.

Elven sorc(stormborn) a storm led him into the town, just basic right now still hashing it out.

Scarab Sages

Hmm. Well I always like making characters with tied=together backstories if you're willing to do the buy-in. So if you did the human in the business, I could be his Oracle brother who just has... well, issues, but powers. If you wanted.

Also realizing that I could totally see the Desert druid as an Aasimar as well. And either Druid could be an Oread. Regardless, I would very much enjoy if my character went a bit of a ways back with another character, but that can follow after the mechanics.

Roid, are you leaning towards a utility focus or what?

Sovereign Court

Sure I always like having my story tie in with another, which ever one you want, I was going for a more skill based guy with the human to help out in that area and prlly going into arcane archer with the stormborn sorc who could be traveling with your druid. I can play either so let me know which you would like to play

Scarab Sages

Thematically I'd say go ahead and roll the human then. I'd play the brother of your character (older or younger, your call) that is known to be haunted and thus not trusted to be in the lumber business - dumping the weight on you. Could even be a Haunted Oracle of Wood.

I like this because it lets us be characters who are grounded in the local environment. My only concern is the lack of full arcane caster, but perhaps one of the remaining people joining would be willing to fill that role?

Sovereign Court

I could see you being my older brother trying to get me to work under our father since Im not efflicted with you haunted mind. Prlly will go either rogue or bard, was thinking we would be Taldane.

I bet someone will pick up a full caster.

Scarab Sages

Okay, so then I'll be a Taldane Dark Tapestry Oracle, Haunted Curse, Stargazer Archetype. Touched by the beyond... do you have a last name in mind?

Sovereign Court

Not off the top of my head, always get a little blocked with names. You have any ideas?

Scarab Sages

Cayleigh
Andak
Egurra
De Rakht, d'Rakht, DeRakht or D'Rakht
Alvar or Alvaar

Any of these jump out?

Sovereign Court

I like D'Rakht, how about you?

Scarab Sages

Sounds good, though I'm not 100% on the spelling conventions for Taldane so perhaps Derakht or de Rakht is more appropriate. Gotta sleep now though. Character up tomorrow. Any version of that name you choose I'm good with as long as the DM is.

Sovereign Court

Cool we can go with Derakht then, I need to crash too. Will get my character up tomorrow as well.

Do you have room for another? I'm new to PbP but I don't think it'll be too difficult to jump in and learn.

My rolls:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17

Set 2:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13

Would you allow me to play a Grippli character (from the Bestiary 2)? I have an interesting idea for a Zen Archer.

You want to be a frog dude or a frog chick? That has to be one of the more unique characters idea I have seen cool. Why you want to be one?

I like the idea of a character who is sort of shut off to the outside world. I imaging this character's tribe (would they be tribes?) as sort of keeping to themselves. Lokti, you can check him out in my profile, would be sort of naive as a result. He has strong ideals and is obsessed with being polite. This can, of course, backfire on him because he is somewhat easy to take advantage of. Once he makes a friend, he remains intensely loyal to them, another result of his particular set of ideals.

It seemed to make sense for him to be a monk, since he wouldn't have much money on him, and his belief system is so strong. And it just makes sense to me that he'd focus on archery (hence the zen archer archetype). Plus, it'd be need to be able to stealthily climb a tree to get an advantage on an opponent in battle.

I guess they would be tribes might more be on how the DM puts them in the game than anything.

Hello everyone.

Just to reitterate what was specified in the recruitment thread here is how characters are going to be genterated:

Level 1
Any and all Paizo material is acceptable(including ultimate magic and races from the bestiaries)
roll 2d6+6 for stats
Max hp at first level(I know this is standard but thought I would mention it)
Average starting gold for classes
2 traits can be used(thanks Fisnis for reminding me)

is what he said in the OOC thread. So I think your frog person should be okay or if you wanted to go a little bit more different but thought you could not might be able to now lol. I should not of been so quick on my character idea I had a dhampir ranger idea but figured I could never really play him ever lol.

Wow sorry I haven't been around guys. Thanks to the new comers for showing interest and please throw your characters up in the OOC thread. I'll get to your questions as soon as I read them all...sorry been a crazy day so far but I just wanted to let you know I'm back and will be here for the rest of the day...pretty much.

Torchbearer wrote:

Torchbearer if your still interested your more than welcome to join. For ease of use can people roll stats in the OOC thread that way it will be easier to keep track of.

Okay guys since I count 6 players if torchberer is still interested I'm going to close this thread and ask that everyone post all questions in the OOC thread.

THREAD CLOSED(for now feel free to track if people drop in the ooc thread).

DukeRuckley you are in and were counted as part of the 6 I mentioned before. And you can be a Grippli no problem.

I really wish there was a PM system on this forum...I really like what Roid and Drill did and I want them to see my thanks before they ignore this thread...lol. Its great when chracters work together like that.

I am, I'm reading upthread to see what everyone's doing. I have a couple of character concepts rattling around in my head. I'll go roll up stats in the other thread and I'll make an alternate id for the game once I get it finalized.

Perfect glad to see your interested.

Sovereign Court

A PM system would of made it easier hehe
Glad you like the idea will post my character on the ooc board today!
