Paizo's Combat Pad Makes Tracking Combat So Much Easier!

*****

This is a must buy item for GMs. It comes with a set of magnetic labels that you move around the pad. Simply use a dry erase marker to write the PC and NPC names on each label, assign its initiative value and you're all set! Additional counters track the round and more. Indispensable.

Useful Product

*****

Bought this one at our german retailer, it's very Useful in Combat and every other initiative based round.
We used to do all the math and paperwork on a piece of paper but the Combat Pad makes it overall easier to follow and of course much quicker.

I can only say this Product is worth a buy :)

The Perfect Game Aid

*****

Whether I am playing Pathfinder, D&D 4E, or any number of other games the Combat Pad is the perfect tool to have at the table.

*****

Honestly, this is the best and most helpful Paizo product I have bought. Enough said.

Inspired concept, simple product and useful for any turn-based game

*****

A superb accessory for tabletop gaming. Essential? Maybe not - but so close to essential that it makes no difference. If you game at the tabletop, buy it.

Last night our fourth combat of the session involved 5 PCs, 4 NPC allies, and 9 enemies. 18 combatants in play.

I am terrible at tracking initiative orders and rounds.

Enter the combat pad. Yesterday's session was my first time to use it, since it arrived in the post only a few days before.

I will never run another PF combat without it. I won't run any turn/initiative combat in any system without it.

It's a very simple concept: a stiff card board, and a series of magnetised tags for PCs (blue), NPCs (green) and enemies (red). Colours are muted, not garish, but perfectly distinguishable even in ambient lighting. There are enough of each kind to handle complex combats.

Both the board and the tags are wipable. Write the names of combatants on the appropriate tag, roll initiative, place the tags in initative order and presto. Instant combat tracker.

There are some refinements. There's a tag to mark the currently active combatant and another to keeps track of which round it is. There's an end of round marker. There's a notes area to mark lengthy expiries or anything else you want (found it very handy to mark the barbarian's rest period and the expiry time of the cleric's Bless).

There's a couple of spare columns so you can slide a tag across to mark someone delaying an action.

I bought a little desktop plate stand to prop the thing up on so all my players could see it. We all knew what we were doing when. If I forgot an NPC action, they reminded me.

I'd never have been able to keep track of the complex combat with a scratch pad.

And because the pad is so simple and versatile, it doesn't have to be limited to your Pathfinder games.

One note of caution: the extra magnet pack sold for the old Gamesmastery pack is in a different style to this pad. The magnets will still work, but they're a different size and have different colours. Still a good back-up in the unlikely event you run out of magnetic tags, though.
