Azarra continues to play the pipes, maintaining control of the swarms.

The rats that were swarming purple move back to white at Azarra's telepathic command. The ones on green stay there.

Azarra's rats continue to swarm several of the gnolls, which is really beginning to freak them out! Dmg & distraction rolled earlier.

Karda's blade blurs as he swipes up, past the archer's desperate defences and down cutting through her throat. She falls clutching and spurting and gurgling.


Tarask frowns and concentrates as he sends another volley of arrows, this time at the elites fighting Ser Armitha. Despite taking a steady aim his first two arrows go wide although the third lodges deeply into the Gnoll's thigh but the elite nearly noticed.

His eyes recovering enough to see a blur, the formerly blinded Gnoll works with his partner to circle and harass Ser Armithia. Every block parry is rewarded with a strike to the back and while the knight manages to deflect a good number of attacks some telling blows slip past his defences and soon the ground os running thick with blood!

With her fellow paladin in such a dire situation, Ishta decides to expose herself in the open field and try something. Half hidden behind an obstacle, she projects a series of force missiles that impact on one of the gnolls' back.

Was hoping Zane would have had a chance to post, ah well.
Badly hurt by the Gnoll's sudden charge, Zane decides rashly it's closer to stand back too back with Ser Armithia. He rushed away from the Gnoll so fast it had no time to react

Zane tries to bash the wounded elite in the head, but the Gnoll manages to parry his blow with it's falchion but this left it's guard open to Ser Armithia!

Sensing a moment of weakness the Knight suddenly swing his sword in a vicious arc, slicing through and tearing out the Gnoll's neck, severing the major arteries and felling it in a fountain of blood!

Using his momentum, Ser Armithia pivots on one foot and swings his bloodied sword in a lateral arc which chops deeply into the arm of the other Elite causing blood to spurt and for it to howl in pain. He tried to follow up with a thrust but the Gnoll had the presence of mind to step aside.

Ishta completes her spell and sends a volley of missiles from her outstretched hand which slam into the wounded elite, casing pin-pricks of blood to well up all over his body!

The remaining archer focuses on Kardas, sending a trio of arrows his way in less than six heartbeats. The first strikes true, lodging deeply in his chest but the others mercifully miss!

Still piping, Azarra directs the rat swarms towards purple and green.

Not rolling damage for them since you have been doing that, and don't want to double up, but totally willing if you want me to start doing it instead.

The rat swarms independently rush their targets, scurrying and scratching and biting and weeing everywhere, spreading their nasty diseases. The female archer takes this stoically, but it was more than the male elite could bear and he freaks out as the rats claw up his thighs!

The remaining elite realises that with his partner dead hitting Ser Armitha was futile, so he tried to turn on Zane and finish off the job the third elite started. Zane however was ready for him and parried one blow and stepped aside from the next two letting the falchion flash harmlessly past.

Feeling invigorated after his attacker was thwarted by his defenses, Zane felt the righteousness of his cause flow through him. He stepped to the side, giving the gnoll no clear line of sight to both him and the far more dangerous gold elf before swinging at the brute with his god's favored weapon.

Zane swings his mace with vigour but the Gnoll moves at the last moment and it bounces off. Circling to keep it between himself and Ser Armithia he swung again and this time hitting the elite solidly in the back, casing it to arch and screech in pain. This distraction was all Ser Armithia needed to sneak his blade past the gnoll's guard and run him through! With a sigh and a face full of fear the gnoll shudders and thrashes before sinking to the ground.

With a word, Ishta sends another volley of tiny force projectiles slamming into the elite the rats are swarming. You see dozens of rats flung off him as he flails in agony, yet the rats eagerly fall over each other to climb back up his by now shredded torso to lap his blood and gnaw on his innards!

The female archer freaks out with all the rats and the slain elites and runs screaming through a door to the east.

Still piping, Azarra pulls the eastern rat swarm off its prey and allows the rat swarm to the west to look for more prey without choosing Kardas, but neither of the swarms are particularly happy about not having anything to rip and kill this round.

Azarra moves slowly to the west, figuring this part of the battle is pretty much over, but hoping to take the swarms and root out others.

"Azarra, I'm here." Out of nowhere, someone touches Azarra's fore-arm. Where Kardas touches her, crimson stains her clothes and armor. "The last archer escaped deeper into the estate, but my wounds forced me to fall back."

Azarra is so startled by Kardas coming out bleeding profusely that she almost stops piping. She looks him over, trying to evaluate whether to let the rats go and help Kardas, or whether he would be okay for now.

I'm going to hand wave the rest of the fight, the Elite stands no chance.

Tarask fires another volley of arrows at the lone Elite. Several bounce off him but one sticks deeply in his throat and he clutches weakly at it. Distracted he didn't notice Ser Armithia and Zane who suddenly surround him and in short order Zane smashes his kneecap causing him to fall to one knee and Ser Armithia shows him Helm's mercy by decapitating him in a one blow.

COMBAT OVER.

The sounds of combat and the groans of the wounded fade and a deathly anticipating hush falls upon the Textile House as if the very world was holding it's breath waiting to see what happens next.

There is loot. I'll post that in a bit, when I'm feeling less brain dead.

Not seeing any other enemies, Azarra stops piping and allows the rats to return to the sewer, which they do immediately.

She then uses prestidigitation to clean Kardas up so that they can see his wounds more clearly, and motions Zane over.

She quickly takes a hand to her shoulder and breaks the arrow still lodged there. A small moan sprouts from her mouth, and she tries to forget the pain by concentrating on a spell.

Ishta will cast Detect Magic.

Once Kardas is healed up waiting on Kardas to roll wand uses I believe, Azarra checks the building just north of her position to see if there is anyone in there, or anything to be found.

Over the next couple of minutes Ser uses his wand again and again to patch himself up and soon he's good as new and ready for another round.

Zane and Kardas also need extensive healing... Is anyone keeping track of the number of charges used?
Kardsas: CLW x7: 7d8 + 7 ⇒ (6, 7, 3, 3, 7, 4, 8) + 7 = 45
Zane: CLW x5: 5d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 4, 3, 4, 2) + 5 = 25


Tarask follows Azarra into the building which turns out to be a stables. The bones of half a dozen horses lie amongst the be-fowled straw, picked clean by the gnolls.

Looking visibly upset the man mutters darkly, "Such a waste, those where thoroughbreds..."

To the west is a hallway that once contained riding tack. All that has been tossed into a dung heap in the corner. Various sleeping "nests" of straw, ripped fabrics and shed fur line the rather smelly room. The door to the south leads to the mess hall, the door to the north is locked.

DC 20 to pick it, or you could bash it down, or force it DC 22.

Azarra waits for Tarask to tell them what is behind the locked door before she tries unlocking it.

While she waits, she uses prestidigitation and mending to clean and restore the riding tack that can be salvaged, wishing she could restore the horses as easily.


Tarask wrinkles his nose with distaste as he takes in the mess the Gnolls have made of the hallway. Turning to Ishta he replies, "Well... It used to lead to the silk and yarn wearhouse past a suite of modelling studios where tailors would take measurements and perform fittings whilst preserving client modesty. I dread to think what kind of mess they've made of the place."

Once she has restored whatever is salvageable from the smelly room, Azarra attempts to unlock the north door.

She isn't able to though, and she asks Kardas to force it.

So, since Kardas isn't available currently:

Kardas Strength Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

That roll is enough to break down a simple door, based on this table: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/damaging-objects#table-dcs-break-burst-i tems, but not a good / strong door. Not sure if a strength check is what you had in mind for forcing it--?

If that doesn't work, she waits for Ser to try.

Being totally incapable of forcing a door, Ishta tries to help Zane when he comes up with the idea of checking for a possible key. Who knows, maybe they find something interesting...
