Pathfinder Society Welcomes New Campaign Coordinator, Venture-Captains!

Monday, September 12, 2011

On Thursday of last week, Paizo announced the hiring of Mike Brock as the new Pathfinder Society Campaign Coordinator. Mike has been one of the campaign's most prolific and successful regional coordinators in Atlanta, Georgia since the venture-captain program was launched a year ago, and we're all excited to see what great new innovations he can bring to the Pathfinder Society Organized Play campaign as a whole. Mike won't start for another few weeks, as moving from Atlanta to Seattle is quite an endeavor, so hold off on asking for rules clarifications and the like, but feel free to congratulate him and wish him the best of luck here or on the existing congratulations thread.

In addition to announcing Mike as the new Campaign Coordinator, it's also my pleasure to announce another wave of venture-captains! Some of these newly appointed regional coordinators will be working in areas that have long been crying out for a venture-captain, while some will be stepping into the rather large shoes left empty when Mike leaves Atlanta to come work at Paizo HQ. If you're in one of these venture-captains' regions, drop them a line to see how you can help grow Pathfinder Society in your area. Conversely, if there still isn't a venture-captain in your region, check out the details on applying for the position here.

Such good news!

I had the blease of meeting several of these fine folks at GenCon this year, and I'm so glad to see them being the ones more involved with the Society.

Nani and Kyle certainly have big shoes to fill, but if my experience with them at GenCon was any indication, they'll do a fantastic job of helping the Georgia region!

Also, Jon Cary and I had a lot of time to chat at GenCon behind the HQ table, and he has a lot of good ideas for the Society.

Congrats again to all our new Venture-Captain overlords!

Scarab Sages

Congrats to Mike, Kyle, & Nani. I know that Mike's departure has left some huge shoes to fill here in Atlanta, but with Kyle & Nani sharing the herculean responsibilities and expectations, I'm sure the future of PFS in Atlanta is in great hands!

Nani and I will definitely have quite a bit of work to equal the awesomeness that Mike did for Atlanta. We look forward to the challenge. Oh, and that's quite a good looking drink JP. I might just try some...

We have had no applicants from Milwaukee that I'm aware of. If you know of someone in the area (or are someone) who you feel would be up to the task, urge them to contact Mike Brock in a few weeks once he's all settled in here in Redmond to inquire about the position.

The Goal is to keep a sense of Community between all the PFS groups in Texas and to advertise the Different coordinators all around Texas and Stores you can get the products and play PFS, Plus Conventions where there will be PFS in Texas.

It was started by me and The Austin Venture-Captain, Dave Woodfin.

I signed up for the site. Drop me an email. I'll talk to the local gameday coordinators in DFW about joining, too.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave at Gen Con this year, I think we'll have a good, neighborly, relationship.

Glad to see the new VC appointments! Especially representing some large urban areas that were conspicuously absent from the list. No longer!

Go forth... and organize. (Stick to the multiplying part for when you're home!)

I don't think coup de gracing his character as a delayed action after the wizard NPC deep slumbers counts. And yes I think I see your GM stars vanishing soon... :p

Not my fault the Drider who escaped warned of a BAMF group of adventurers coming their way. The warrior legally delayed his turn. Drow got tactics bro.

/Only one of my alleged 15 coup de graces.
//How many are real?
///Why does that number rise when I don't even GM for folks?
////Yeah yeah, I know its not nice. This was prior to being shown a particular forum posting.

*sobs*

Maybe I'll just turn into an evil killer GM who bathes in the blood of first level players upon my apotheosis into a Venture-Captain!

Or maybe I'll keep my record of players deaths at exactly what it is now. Shhh. Don't tell any of my players!

Sovereign Court 3/5

For the latest Six, I'd ask for a refund. You've likely already been doing the job in your local area for a while now. Except now you have a title and location. And as in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, people will post things about you on the Internet.
While Liz has cookies, Pathfinder has shot and pint glasses. Chocolate and Alcohol both help.

Congratulations to Mike and all the new VC's!

Kyle and Nani - I hope to see you at SCARAB Gaming Convention in January. You're not huge Falcons fanatics like Mike is I hope! If so then I may have to root for them to not make it into the playoffs.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Why would you root for that? Saying things like that kills kittens, puppies, and other small animals .

I heard they were painting your office yellow and green with a big ole fathead of Aaron Rodgers on one side and John Kuhn on the other :-) Its not too late to say no ;-)

I don't know if anyone at Paizo knows who those people are...Except Lisa, and she's too busy to paint walls with all her whipping and other "motivations".
