Near Essential to run Brinewall Legacy

There's a gaping hole in the middle of Jade Regent's Brinewall Legacy. I suppose you could fill it with random monster encounters so PCs have leveled enough to survive Brinewall Castle. Or you could buy this excellent plug-in, seeded with plot-relevant encounters and interesting characters and scenarios.

The villain at the end is an odd one and a can't match the paranoia my PCs felt about him when they first started hearing his name. There were a few editing issues as well and the artwork varies between good and silly.

But more importantly, some of the most memorable scenes from our early days of Jade Regent came from this plug-in, not to mention the story seeds that drive PCs onward. Would recommend. Would buy it all over again.

Woo! Congrats to Jim and Pedro on their Legendary debut!

This hefty adventure clocks in at 24,000 words, about as long as the adventure portion of an AP module and longer than the adventures in the old Gamemastery line. It includes seven sections, two appendices, numerous sidebars, adjusted rules for caravan combat, advice for running the adventure with and without the caravan rules... the list goes on and on!

Pedro did some awesome maps y'all! Not only is the adventure great, but you get a map for every situation that could lead to combat.

Plus Jason got some talented genius layout person to make it all look good!

It was a pleasure working with Jason and Jim to create the maps (and in case people don't know, Jim has got some good mapping skills of his own).

Jim came up with some really nice encounters, and I'm sure our fellow gamers will enjoy running and playing this Adventure Path Plug-in!

I'll be picking this up later, it looks like great work. I can't say enough good things about how much richer these plu-ins have made the JR adventure path. My only complaint is that YOU"RE DOING THESE BACKWARDS ha ha ha - my group finished book one long ago :)
The garden around the house of withered blossoms would have made a great setting for another plug-in, richard pett put some content on the forest of spirits thread I'm going to use, but it would have been great to see it done as a plug-in, there was a significant bit cut out.
Haven't looked into book 5 and 6 in detail yet, but if there's plug-ins coming for them, you've got a sale...!

That would have made more sense, it's true, but sometimes things get done when they get done. Hopefully you'll find a good use for it in the early stages of whatever your next campaign might be!

Jason's correct, for this to have a greater impact it should have been out about last September or October. That was my fault.

Jade Regent isn't going away. Most likely its on your shelf right now. Its a great Adventure Path, many of you own it haven't gotten around to running it yet. Maybe you have heard of some issues—well, if there are any, we found them and beat the crud out of them.

There's never a bad time to start a new Adventure Path for your group. Adventure Paths are a wonderful renewable source of entertainment. They don't go out of style.

Legendary games now offers everything you need to make for a very rich and detailed Jade Regent campaign.

Ha! That totally reminds me of an old church choir story. We were doing a piece called "Festal Piece on St. Anne," and the melody line had the words:

Time, like an every-rolling stream
bears all our cares away.
They fly, forgotten as a dream
dies at the open of day.

Nice, pretty, poetic.

But the bass part was a long sustained note of the first part of each phrase, which meant our part was:

Tiiiiiiiiiiime...
beeeeaarrrrrs...
(and then we jumped up an octave)
THEY FLY!!!!!

The first time we went through it I about busted out laughing and said out loud: "Bears, they FLY?"

You're welcome! It's a very good module in my opinion that complements Jade Regent well. I did my best to nitpick the hell out of it and still didn't find much to complain about - quite a feat! ;)

Now this idea has my interest peaked, as I as a GM have always liked the idea of rewarding my player's characters with something outside of simply experience. The idea of them having to work for an item or feat that will not be gaining them another block of XP could leave them more appreciating that reward. Am intrigued.


A fine addition to any Jade Regent campaign, I added my own review simply as someone who used the module. I'm probably being a bit tougher than the previous reviewers, but I suspect the good folks want to hear honest reviews and feedback. Looking forward to using more of your excellent products.

Thanks for the feedback! I emailed Pedro Coelho, the mapper for this product, to see if he can export unkeyed versions of the maps. If so, we'll add them to the product package for download.


Can we have unkeyed maps for all LG-modules? That would be SO AWESOME...

The Gothic Campaign Compendium includes unkeyed maps for The Murmuring Fountain, The Fiddler's Lament, and Feasting at Lanterngeist.

The Far East and Kingdom-Building Compendiums are in layout now, and each should have unkeyed maps in the appendices.

So the answer is: YES! :)

I should also point out that our latest adventure, Road to War: The Equinox Crown, already has its maps duplicated in unkeyed format. Just sayin'... we've been listening to customer feedback loud and clear. :)

It was thoroughly edited and there were a number of small errors, statblock snafus, and a couple logic hiccups that were fixed. Not huge story changes but a good number of minor adjustments with development and editing love from someone who was not the author. You might spot some changes with a side-by-side reading but I think most people would be challenged to pick them out with just a cold reading the new manuscript.

I think that's fair, but Al and Jason might have another perspective.

Its tough to self-edit and self-develop, and thanks to Al Riggs, this baby got some fine tuning and attention. Road to Destiny has been now raised to the higher level of professional production that Legendary Games strives for in all their products.

If someone has not purchased it yet and are looking at a certain Far Eastern AP, its a good time to pick it up!

All of LG adventure plug-ins for this AP are great. And this one does indeed fill an essential role IMO. I will reread it (new version) and see if I have any question left ;-)

Glad you guys are enjoying. We figured we were revising the book anyway to make it compatible with that OTHER RPG, so why not clean up the Pathfinder version at the same time. The original version was fine, but why not make it LEGENDARY?


Bit of thread necromancy here :)

I'm just now using Road to Destiny, and absolutely loving it. There's a reason I keep getting the LG stuff: it's phenomenal, and incredibly useful.

Can I make one suggestion, just on formatting? I've noticed a couple of stat blocks are split by a one-page tactical map. Because these are PDFs, it means more button-clicking or scrolling to get from the "top" of the stat block to the "bottom". Perhaps if the ordinary text was split, and the stat-blocks kept together? Or all the maps at the tail-end of the book instead of in the middle?

Not trying to be negative,'cos I love this stuff - it's just a minor annoyance I thought I'd mention.

Is there any information on the "Egyptian Theme AP" plug-ins? :)

I originally bought this fantastic plug-in as part of the incredible "30 for 40 Mega-Bundle". I'm currently running the Jade Regent AP, so this is an excellent fit for Book 1 of that AP.

However, the Mega-Bundle contains only the full colour version of "Road to Destiny". Is there any way to get the "stripped-down printer-friendly version" without making a separate purchase?
