But what setting would you like to see made? Personally, I'd enjoy playing something from Terry Brooks' imagination. Any of his three worlds would be an interesting place to game.
Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth books. We got a TV series, but no game that I know of.
I think a RPG of mercedes lackey's valdemar series would be nice. You can be a herald or herald trainey for the psionic crowd or you can be a full magician without psionics.
Plus the politics and so forth add some nice flavor.

For politics, Melaine Rawn's Dragon Prince/Dragon Star Series would be practically perfect for such a thing.

Poke'mon. Wouldn't really want to play it myself, but I think it would be a good way to introduce the younger kids to table top RPGs. As for settings I would want to play myself, I've got to second Mass Effect. Funny enough Fallout was actually the first table top rpg I ever played.

To tell you the truth, I think that it was what you're refering to. I came acrossed in a used book store, skimmed it, realized just how horrible it was, shuddered, and put it back. I didn't get into enough detail with it to discover if it was d20.

Ah, yeah if it was paperback book sized it's the same. And as I recall, it really wasn't very good. But it was simple and portable, so it had it's uses. I did enjoy the novels though.

Actually, the rights to Midkemia are owned by the guy who is running game it was based off of.

Considering the characters, that is pretty much the original red box set of D&D.
Setting information would be nice, but the game is the old D&D.

Put me down for Fallout, to be sure. Though I think there was a Fallout GURPS book put out a few years ago; good luck finding it, though.
To continue with video game worlds, I find the atmosphere and setting (what there is of it) is the game Demon's Souls for the PS3 to be really interesting. It does a good job of building an atmosphere where you feel isolated and alone against a huge threat. The unforgiving gameplay doesn't hurt with that, either.

There were some wonky rules put out for the setting in a 2nd Edition Dragon issue with the first Fool Wolf story, but I think with some of the Shaman class from the Oriental adventures book or the Oracle from the APG it's doable. I could also imagine Oracles and Sorcerers deriving their power from binding gods in their Mansion of Bone and being the main spellcasters. The River God would have clerics until the events of "The Black God".

I just finished Waterborn and wondering how I went so long without reading that one. It is brilliant!
Just a Gazetteer alone of this world would be great to have!
One would need to be a smart player to last long in that world with people like Lepp Gaz roaming about.

Steve Abrams created Midkemia, let Feist use it and set up a publishing company called Midkemia Press in the 1980s, IIRC. They had some D&D-compatible setting books published like 'City of Jonril' and a few other things published way back in the day, but no overall coherent setting books.
Apparently Abrams and Feist want to do Midkemia as a proper RPG and setting, but only when Feist completes the 30-book Midkemia story. Which is now only two books and 2-3 years away, so we may see something after that.
I'm currently working on a Midkemia setting for Pathfinder. The hard part is figuring out how to do Lesser Path vs Greater Path magicians and Clerics.
At the moment I'm tending towards the following:
Midkemian Clerics = Pathfinder Oracles (Kulgan: "Magicians can't just toss spells off the tops of their heads. Clerics can...")
Lesser Path Magician = Druid, sans healing spells. Feist has said that the LPMs focus more on the elemental side of things, and Kulgan mentions the concepts of talking to animals and shapeshifting into animal form, IIRC. The other option would be the Witch class, without the familiar.
Greater Path Magician = Sorcerer, but with a larger spell selection, and no bloodline abilities (or perhaps just the Arcana one). Oh, and Int based rather than Cha based (as is pointed out in the stories, the Greater Path is that of the scholar, not the artist).
Some other changes would be along the lines of simply not having certain classes (no Bards, for example).
As far as races go, you'd obviously have Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. For moredhel I'd just use Elves. For goblins I'd use orcs. For trolls I'd use...hmmm...I'm not sure yet! :) For giants I'd use ogres.

I also think a rendition of Terry Brooks Shannara world would be a good candidate.
The entire MTG multiverse. Especially Kamigawa, Ravnica and Mirrodin.

There were talk of publishing a GG game under Steve Jackson's Games (GURPS I would assume), but I haven't heard anything about that project for a long time now...
also, I would love something in a world similar to Skyland; I love that type of fantasy...

Island kingdoms to start in and out east a huge island of wilderness to conquer when PCs brave and powerful enough to conquer it.
The entire surface world is dark as a starless night due to a thick layer of cloiuds completely blocking out any light from the sun.
Meanwhile the Darklands/Underdark/whatever you may call the underground world, are always bright as a sunny day, due to glowing mushrooms and an abundance of magical glowing crystals growing out of the walls everywhere.
