Ok, so wow hard decision but finally I decided that I will in fact save money this month by not buying the Anniversary Edition, and then over the next few months build up some store credit for the Collector's Edition. Not getting the PDF until November kinda sucks, but I can deal with that, since that will also give me time to have players read over the Player's Guide PDF and such and really have time to make good characters for when I get the book in November! :)
I just thought of something, and it may not be possible, but I thought I'd run the idea by you guys at least.
So, what about giving Adventure Path subscribers the option to purchase the PDF now (well, once it's available,) in return for a discount on the Deluxe Edition in November? Then, those that KEEP their Adventure Path subscriptions active the entire time between now and November then get a discount on the Deluxe Edition equal to the price of the PDF? At least as I can see, it would be no different than giving us the PDF free come November, we would just make a partial payment toward the Deluxe Edition when we purchase the PDF. If we cancel our Deluxe order, then we don't get the free PDF, but that's ok cause we still paid for it. Also, as I said make us keep our Adventure Path subscription active the entire time would also I think help make it profitable for you.
What made me think of this was I already plan to each month between now and November buy store credit to be 100% sure the money is there come November, so I thought why not put that money to use and give us subscribers that will get the PDF free in November the option to get it sooner, risk-free?
And speaking as a fan, this is something that I've wanted since the original Adventure Path came out. I can't wait for it to grace itself next to my signed copy of Keep on the Borderlands and the Red Box Player Manual.
Tingling goodness. This looks very cool but I can't justify the money. At $99 I would probably get it. Even $150 might be a little high for my taste but that's just me. Others will probably be very happy with this. I'm definitely getting the regular version.

I have a serious question for someone in shipping. I ordered the Deluxe Collectors Edition and decided to have it ship with my monthly shipment. Will the book be too heavy to do this safely? I am worried the weight will damage some of the other items. Should I change it to ship on it's own?
People worrying about extra content and so on are slightly missing the point I think. This is a celebration item, and very much a collector's piece.
This will see premium prices on Ebay very quickly, in the same way as the Real Leather Rappan Athuks will, and the level 7Bs that are only available through the Kickstarter will as well.
If I could afford it, I would be ordering it tomorrow, and it would have pride of place on the bookshelf for years to come. It would probably be an individually named legacy item in my will.
This actually the first time I find the special/deluxe/collectors/over 9000/limited/etc. edition of a book less appealing than the standard product.
It eschewed the awesome WAR Cover art in favor of a rather minimalistic emblem. That doesn't work for me. Especially because this way it would look completely misplaced in my PFRPG shelf.
But don't take advice from me, I'm not going to be able to afford the deluxe edition anyway.
This version does come with a framable, high quality art print of the standard edition's, though, so it's still represented here.

Very much seconded. I honestly need at least the PDF next month, since I'm currently already running RotRL with my home group and we're all chomping at the pit for the official Pathfinder version. Without the ability to get the PDF early...I just can't see myself switching to the Collector's edition.
So... Two problems.
1) Finding a place to store this so that it stays pristine until the day I die.
2) Obtaining signatures from Everyone listed in the book's credits.
I am sad this isn't available at PaizoCon, as it would have provided an excellent opportunity to gain signatures. It may be a long time before I can grab all of them.
Normally I'd never even consider getting something like this, however awesome it looks. But I'll be finally returning to gainful employment in the next couple of weeks after some time out of work and was looking for something to get to celebrate. The shipping out to NZ is very high, but I think this will do nicely anyway!
Curses! You guys have got me on this, and my bank account hates me for it.
The Other Guys' special edition of the 3.5E core rulebooks were very, very nice. I wasn't going to buy them, but when my DMG wore out, and the special edition on sale cost only a little more than the regular edition, I figured, "why not?" Having a copy of a special edition in-hand, though, sold me completely. I bought the rest of the set of special edition 3.5E core rulebooks in a heartbeat. Pictures on the internet could not do justice to seeing a high-quality book in person.
I'm a sucker for special editions now! This will be going on the top shelf alongside the special edition 3.5e books and the special boxed leather-bound editions of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and the complete H.P. Lovecraft.
I'm pretty excited about this pre-order. And, should you ever do a special-edition Pathfinder core rulebook in a similar style, I'll pre-order that one in a heartbeat, too....
I can't believe I did this, but, I ordered it. Will make sure I'm the best husband ever for the next several months before this hits the credit card statement. "Oh, honey; did I forget to mention I bought this?" I got the regular cover as well, so I am convincing myself that I'll sell the special one years down the line, even though I cannot envision myself ever doing so.
Anyways, I plan on bringing it to Gen Con 2013 to have people sign it if they are agreeable to doing so.
I have just taken a wooden stake and drove it into the center of my wallet and the wallet is screaming!!!! I need another job... Anybody hiring? Anyone???? Donate a kidney? Bone marrow transplant? Hair transplant? a limb? I might have to sell myself into slavery or something..This is so not right..... >:\
I'm sad, I'm from Argentina, maybe i have the biggest collection of PF in the entire country. But i'll never got it. This item it's so expensive, the money change disadvantages me, and we have stupid customs laws. Happily, I pay a lot for every book I got, but this is to much :(.
I got all core rulebook (but the last one that already encharge it), the inner sea world guide, and a some player's companion and pf chronicles...
Announced! The main product image is a photograph of the actual outer presentation case, and the additional image at the bottom is a photograph of the actual book. We'll add additional photos as we're able to.
In celebration of finishing my project here at work early and securing a $2,500 bonus, I think this shall be my reward.
Did George Lucas just get hired at Paizo? Come on Paizo, you're better than this nonsense.
It's not for me (if it was about 3/4 the cost, maybe, or if I could get the pdf in July), but I think the George Lucas analogy is unfair. The man is, after all, an intellectual prostitute. I hardly think this is in the same category. FFG has made several like this, and my leather-bound 3.5 core books proudly grace my shelf.

With the assumption you're not trying to be a jerk, I'd like to discuss this. If at the moment of product release Paizo had said "we're doing two different bindings... one is utilitarian and the other is a physically attractive version", would this still be Lucasian? I mean, then it's just "do you want to large-size your fries?" Or, "do you want the optional sunroof, and HEMI?"
Yeah, I don't see any Lucasian antics here. Paizo did give the opportunity for those of us who preordered the HC to switch to the special fantastico version. Lucasian antics would require Paizo to have offered the delux version AFTER they released the normal HC.
Lucas behavior will be if Paizo does another printing in 6 months with a new chapter...and some of the more important NPCs replaced with nilbogs. And then repeats this process, adding a new chapter and more nilbog replacements every couple of years. Until the entire thing is a 3000 page tome consisting of nothing but nilbogs.
And as the AP becomes more and more nilbog-infested, Paizo stops selling the original, nilbog-free versions in any form whatsoever (print or electronic).
I am excited to get my 'regular' edition. Now all of a sudden a newer MORE SPECIAL edition gets announced? Eh...
We really wanted to tell folks about this sooner—heck, we wanted to *release it* sooner—but working out the metal casings took a lot of time; because that's one of the most expensive parts of the package, we couldn't set a price until that was finalized.
Hey I have a question ;) will we ever see a special edition of Pathfinder core rulebook???
Negatives: huge shipping costs and customs hassle here in Denmark - including a $25 fee that the postal office rakes in, no matter how much the actual tax amount is. Often just a few dollars in tax + a hefty $25 in handling fee.
For us europeans, it would be much more convenient if it was possible for Paizo to ship from within the EU. If this was the case, then I would absolutely buy all my gaming supplies directly from Paizo. And most likely buy a bit more than I do today.
So hard to resist - especially because we're just a couple of sessions short of completing RotR. It would be quite a nice way to commemorate a great campaign with some great friends.

Aye, the Danish Postal Service really doesn't want us to shop outside the European borders. That won't prevent me from getting this piece of awesome but it is certainly an issue.
