It seems these days that you can't travel anywhere without a gang of highwaymen attacking your caravan, or getting harassed by the town guard after burning down just one tavern.

Presenting Battle! Studio's first set of paper miniatures geared towards game masters: Battle! Studio Paper Miniatures: Guards & Bandits! This set features vigilant town guards and crafty bandits, each with two "leader" miniatures and four twice-rendered faceless mooks, rounding out each page with 10 guards or bandits.

Each faction comes in three unique color schemes, and the black & white lineart is given to color yourself. Use the different color schemes to indicate rival gangs of bandits, or guards from different regions.

These can see as NPCs in your campaign, or if you're a player, you can choose one of the "leader" miniatures to represent your character, and have a gaggle of loyal followers ready to embark with you on your adventures!

The bandit miniatures work well as wily thieves, but also make scrappy rebels and freedom fighters. The guard miniatures do well to protect the town, but may also serve a regime of fear and oppression. Pit them against each other, or make them valuable allies and hated enemies of your players - the only limit is your imagination!

And you'd best call in the town guard, because at a price of $1.25, these paper minis are a real steal!

I loved the idea behind this set and I love the results.

An awesome set of guards and bandits. Great for making semi-unique (yes I know you can't be semi-unique) groups of adversaries for your heroes. Or they'd be good for heroes themselves.

Each has some personality and I can see a lot of use for these as flunkies for assorted NPCs.

Keep up the good work.

This is my favorite set yet.

5/5

Tim's style is solidifying and I'm liking it.

This set brings 12 new designs (six "bandits" and six "guards") in three color palettes each, as well as the "color-your-own" blanks.

I really like the bandits in this one. There's an archer, a thug with a short sword, a mugger-looking dude, a brute, a wine-drinking duelist, and a girl with a sickle and dagger.

The guards are a little more plain; four of the minis have the same helmet and armor but different body types, poses, and weapons. The other two look like a grizzled old captain and a grim, determined lieutenant.

Awesome art for a buck and a quarter!

Sovereign Court

This is something a little different from the other sets, so I'm pretty anxious to see how it's received. Let me know what you think!

Any plans to make monster figs?

Sovereign Court

None currently, though I haven't ruled it out. I think at this point it's more important to establish a wide base of humanoids - it's less jarring to mix Battle! minis with existing monsters than with existing humanoids.

You know I've said this before, but when you get through the core races, how about some of the things like Catfolk, Grippli, Tieflings, and so on.

And a set of familiars and companions would be great... (And I happen to know you already have a pseudo dragon, firepelt, small dragon, and cat completed... :D )

But that's my 2 cp.
