I'm sure alchemist's fire or acid will wash away the smells, Selena! :D

"Either this fellow was eaten, and then died, or died, and then was eaten," says Shungur, taking a look at the corpse as well.

You can try and wash away the smell, but that would render the insect repellent non functional if it worked. Happy to assume you have already tried that with the monkey tree and it didn't work on that.

Near the body the team finds the kit of the departed man. There is a rapier, a masterwork composite longbow and quiver of arrows, two potion bottles and two bladders of a strange oily substance. Two small vials hold easily identified alchemists fire, while tied to the back of the pack is a rope.

And to speed things up as I'm sure someone will cast detect magic, but best confirm to me who is it. Two arrows are magical, as are two potions the oil and the rope.

Under a not-secret-enough-for-Tophor flap on the mans belt pouch you also find a note (linked above).

What's the strength rating on the bow? I've been looking to get one of these.

As the team gathers the equipment, Jal looks at the surrounding ground. "Uh ... let's do the slow stuff down the path a bit. I hate to stand in the way of hungry ants getting their meal."

He stands and follows his own suggestion. "We can ID these goods as we move. I don't think Jace will miss them."

Since I don't have insect repellent on me, I have no issues attempting to wash away the smell, at least for me. I can cast Create Water myself after all.

I have Detect Magic but no spellcraft, so it would be best served by someone else attempting first.

The pathfinder team quickly passes by the ant nests, grabbing the equipment as they go.

A few hundred feet further down the ravine, the northern wall is heavily eroded and creates a relatively shallow slope.

survival DC10:

You see deep tracks left by a massive three-toed saurian that ascended the slope only hours before.

Jal tries out the composite bow. It doesn't have an especially strong pull. While he does that Selena tries drenching herself in water. Water by itself seems not to be enough to remove the smell. If she had soap and took a bit of time to fully wash she may be able to get rid of the stench, but it would take some time.

Those with Detect Magic and spellcraft may want to make their rolls

The body looks to have been eaten by ants. Quite possibly alive.

Galandaro looks at the first potion and quickly identifies it as a potion of invisibility. Xien doesn't manage to work out any others. Misforstatt, more familiar with such things says the second is a potion of cure moderate wounds.

Going to roll spellcraft for Galandaro for the oils, arrows and rope
spellcraft@+8: 4d20 ⇒ (19, 17, 14, 20) = 70

The oils are both oils of magical weapon. He's not too sure about the arrows, but the rope is a rope of climbing.

And pressing onwards...

The floor of the ravine slopes downward slightly and the foliage overhead gradually thins. The ravine is wider here, and numerous boulders scattered throughout the area attest to steady erosion. Some of the boulders bear strange carvings and are even hewn into rough pillars, but they jut at odd angles out from the landscape and don’t seem to be a part of any surviving structure. Nestled in the shadow of two such pillars is a shallow pit scraped out of the earth by some massive creature’s claws.

The nest contains several branches, the half-eaten body of a leather-clad humanoid, several broken shells, and a several large, intact eggs. In the trampled foliage near the nest lies the corpse of a massive, bipedal dinosaur, its tooth-lined maw agape and its hide pierced with dozens of crude javelins.

Even the mighty Xien can't seem to get through their scales, although he does have some satisfaction with his shield smashing into one and dazing it for a moment. Eidi then tries to kick it while it is distracted and that also seems to take effect.

Ah. I misunderstood the setup. I thought Jal/Tophor/Xien got a surprise round but the Lizardfolk didn't. I see now that the lizardfolk also got theirs before Jal. (That's why I thought Jal wasn't flat-footed and they were.)

Jal slings his shield into position a second to late to protect himself from another attack. He continues his southward retreat, slashing again at the lizardfolk to his left.

5' step south, drawing shield and power attacking again at Green.

Can someone move Jal 1 square south (next to Shungur)?

Shungur focuses on the lizardman in front of him, and also the one northwest of Jal. He lifts a trembling hand, and all color drains from his eyes and dulls in the immediate vicinity of his form. A coruscating rainbow issues from him, washing over both humanoids.

Color Spray.

If the lizardman near him no longer threatens, he will pull out a Wand of Color Spray. Otherwise, he will stay put.

Jal batters at the lizards, but with little effect but does distract the lizard man enough to let Misforstaff get behind it and smash it over the head with his staff. The staff seems to suffer more than it though.

Just down the path, the mighty Xien skewers one of the lizard men with his trident. His trusty steed all but knocks the other to the ground. But not quite.

Shungur summons a vivid raidbow of colours

Just a note: Both of these are valid attacks – Tophor can use flurry with a bow. I wasn't sure from the flavor text if that was clear.

By gold, I assume you mean the orange one? Well Tophor went before the colour spray, so no benefit from being prone...

One of Tophor's arrows hit the stunned lizard man on the way down.

The lizard man facing Xienm badly wounded but still does its best to defat its cousin.
