Fight the Dark Side
Create your own dark hero to set against the twisted landscape and cruel foes of the plane of eternal night. Players and game masters are introduced to the vital Shadowsfall trappings needed to incorporate the Plane of Shadow into any Pathfinder Roleplaying Game campaign. To combat the undead hordes, vampiric flora and cruel, uncaring Shadow gods, gamers are privy to new player races, feats, spells, class options and deities as well as the Plane’s infamous mutable geography and stark city strongholds.

Fight the Dark Side? Nuts to that! I want to join the Dark Side - Sith are always much cooler!
No one said the dark side was united. Like Spike fighting evil Angel. You fight the darkness because you like the world. *British accent* "Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs."
I like the characters depicted on the cover -- each one interesting and they appear to be an alert and effective adventuring team. Evocatively quite cool.
Are Wanderers shadowy humans? I ask because I'm thinking about what WotC did with the "Shadowfell" in 4E.
In any case, I'll definitely keep my eye out for this one to arrive at my FLGS.
I believe that the lady in the top left is a dhampir, the guy in the top right is a fetchling, the guy in the bottom right is a Wanderer, and the critter in is the umbral kobold.
The fetchlings are the "shadowy humans", and you can find more information on them here.

The wandered looks so...righteous.
What Cheapy said.

Hello Dale. The usual question, we will see a PDF+book package?

As Cheapy said, Fetchlings are the shadow humans. Wanderers are ... I'm not quite ready to talk about them yet. Their final version is created (I just sent the Free RPG Day book off the printer about an hour ago; details about wanderers are inside), but we're keeping that card up our dragon scales a little longer.
Yes, my avatar is an evil umbral dragon for a reason.

Be sure to look for the adventure on Free RPG Day at your local game store.
More Shadowy Goodness.......if this is anywhere near the level of what you presented to us with the critter book for the Shadow Plane, then count me amongst those waiting impatiently for its release.
There is a LOT more Shadowy Goodness coming ... I actually can't wait for all of this stuff to finally see the light of day! (well, maybe ... twilight anyway :))
I hate to admit it, but this is not going to make the end of May nor the start of June. We're working as hard as we can to make PaizoCon. But I'll be frank, its going to be a stretch.

Very sad to hear, just keep us informed. This is a book i have been looking forward to.

I'll be preordering this. If you need help with any part of the production process, I'm sure you can find willing volunteers...

Is this not going to be out then in time for Free RPG day? I was really hoping it would be to go along with the Temple of Orcus module I'll be running...
So was I. That was the original plan. But for me to have it in game stores by Free RPG Day, I'd have to have had it to the printer for the test print by today. That didn't happen. I'm hoping for PaizoCon. That deadline is 3 weeks (4 is pushing it) from now. I'm not sure I can make it. I just have too much to do yet.
I'd rather it be late than poor quality. Don't get me wrong, missing Free RPG Day is a serious blow. If I miss PaizoCon, that will be a second blow. But I want it to be the best it possibly can be.

O_O I really, really hope that you are able to make for to Paizocon. I like your stuff because it is quality work, and I don't want to see you sacrifice quality for a deadline either. I have been interested in this product since reading the fiction and then the Book of Beasts. I really want this to see the light of day!
That sucks, but I wouldn't be so pessimistic about Shadowsfall - I think your stellar bestiary may very well have garnered some people who are highly anticipating these books...
It was a valiant effort, but I have to declare defeat. The Shadow Plane Player's Companion is not making PaizoCon. *sad clown face*
Having said that, the doom and gloom I discussed a few posts ago is not going to happen. I'm not pulling the plug on anything. Its still my #1 priority.

*double rats*
However, I am still very much looking forward to this. Thank you for keeping us in the loop!

It's too bad that it won't be ready for Paizocon. :(
That said, I'm not going to Paizocon. I'm several years away from being able to go to any of the Cons (since I would want to bring the family and my kids are not old enough for that yet).
I am still preordering this product. I am really excited to see more of this setting. I hope that I will be able to get a copy of Shadowsfall: Temple of Orcus!

I for one can not wait this book looks really good. I loved the free RPG day adventure and have been looking forward to this release since then. Really glad to see it's going to happen.
The test print came in today. It looks good. A few minor tweeks and this baby is ready for a final print. Pre-order today before the pre-order goes down and you can get the PDF and print that much faster.
