The Granddaddy of All Dungeons Returns!
Rappan Athuk, the legendary mega-dungeon by Frog God Games and Necromancer Games is nothing more and nothing less than a good, old–fashioned, First Edition dungeon crawl updated for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Very difficult, Rappan Athuk will truly strike fear into the hearts of the most stalwart adventurers. It offers legions of inventive traps, tricks, strange features, and monsters—many of them never before seen. It affords numerous opportunities for roleplaying, but anyone willing to brave these subterranean halls better arrive ready to rumble, or their lives will be short indeed.
Many, many players have lost favored PCs delving into the depths of this dungeon, all the while giggling like children and having the time of their lives. Hundreds, if not thousands of players have combed the halls of Rappan Athuk over the years, seeking treasure and fame, making it one of the best-known dungeon locations the game has ever produced. Even players who have never entered its halls know the term: “Don’t go down the Well!”
An adventure for 4 – 6 PCs
Character Levels 1 – 20

So I just was out on the Frog God Games site and I see an entry for "Rappan Athuk: Cyclopean Deeps". Is that something separate from the Rappan Athuk hardcover? Or is it part of it?
Yes Cyclopean Deeps is separate from the Rappan Athuk book. It is an extension of the Rappan Athuk campaign however. It is a separate subscription to the Rappan Athuk subscription which will get you additional levels over the next year. So in further explanation you have the Rappan Athuk hardcover, then the Cyclopean Deeps subscription, and last of all the Rappan Athuk additional levels subscription.
If anything I said is wrong would someone from Frog God Games please clarify.
Here is what Chick Wright posted during the Rappan Athuk kickstarter on about page 12:
"If we hit 800 backers we will have Bill Webb create a subscription service, starting this fall, for new added levels to Rappan Athuk. The $59.95 Subscription will be good for one year and provide 6 new levels (published by pdf every 2 months. At the end of the year you'll receive an actual book. If we get more than 250 subscribers the book will have a hardcover, otherwise a softcover.) All Kickstarter backers will receive a $10 discount on the subscription for the first year, resulting in a $49.99 price."
Now I am not sure if there has been any changes to this idea. But I am willing to bet that the subscription books at the end of the year would be hardcovers. However, I doubt that the additional Rappan Athuk levels and the Cyclopean Deeps would be combined into one book. If for no other reason than some people will not subscribe to both and the cost to print separate books and combined books would be restrictive.

Actually my post was exclusively about the pair of Cyclopean Deeps softcovers that are currently out. There are some hooks between Rappan Athuk and Cyclopean Deeps, but I'm safely assuming that the two are being kept separate.
I'm hoping that the Cyclopean Deeps hardcover that comes out will have the contents of the current two CD books, so I don't have to carry the two softcovers with me.

Sorry I misunderstood what you were asking.
BB/Silverhair:
It is my understanding, and unless Bill/Rachel tell me otherwise, that the CD subscription will be produced as a compiled book at the end of production, INCLUDING issue 1&2 that were add-ons for Rappan Athuk. The same can be said for the RA subscription (no one got that as an add-on, so never fear).
So, you will not have to carry an entire library to have all of RA, just 3 books.
I believe that's how it goes. this has been quite confusing for us as well as you guys!
And I know there was a question up there somewhere about the RA subscription being different than the hardcover? Yes, the subscription is additional material not covered in the hardcover main book. The snakepit that is the mind of BW is very fertile. I have much sorrow for you players....

Is that the RA subscription? Or the CD subscription? I obviously want to get the other one and don't want to order the same thing twice?
Endzeitgeist did a really excellent review. However, I'm looking for just a bit more information:
I own Rappan Athuk Reloaded (Woot! #550). I'm wondering - should I get the new Rappan Athuk? Is it worth it - I mean, really worth it? How much different are the dungeon levels (ignoring the new surface stuff for a moment) in this one compared to Reloaded? A significant difference, or minor changes? Are there a number of new levels on top of the new levels in Reloaded? [Additional note: I play 3.5 and not Pathfinder.]

If you pledged for the RA sub on the kickstarter then you'll receive the 6 extra levels for RA. This is separate from the CD subscription for either 6 or 12. So yes, you can purchase those and you won't be buying the same thing twice.

Arnwyn, get the new one. The new version is so much better than the Reloaded-Box. The new levels belong to the very best in the whole module. High- and mid-levels are much more exciting - AND the beginner's dungeon is a good way to introduce 1st level characters to dying...a lot!
^ this, I have RA:R (#333) and the production values of the new version are amazing. Admittedly I am working of the PDF only but I am blown away by this new RA.
I just purchased the print/PDF bundle who long doesn't it take for the print version to ship. It said it will ship soon as it arrives? Bit real sure what this means.

End and mach 1: thanks for the kind words. We worked HARD to make this not just a reprint, but an improvement on previous efforts. If you're going to do something again, make sure its better then before, thats my opinion.
Mr Whos: Were waiting for the last bit of the add-on merchandise to arrive, and then the print books will ship. We have been delayed by a supplier, completely beyond our scope of influence (and believing, honestly). Hopefully, the merch arrives in the next couple weeks, from what I heard last.

I'm also interested in Arnwyn's question (I also have RAR in .pdf form). How much of the existing stuff from RAR has been changed? And by how much? Saying the whole thing is better and much more exciting is pretty vague.
There is a vast amount of new levels - both added to the main bulk of RA, on the surface and in the form of new entries. IP-protected (Beholders, Mind Flayers, Slaadi etc.) critters have been replaced with ones that make imho more sense in the context of the dungeon. The maps that show the links between the respective levels is an immense help. Presentation is much streamlined: Several locations now come with the relevant stats right in their entry.
I'd say the new content alone is more than enough to justify the newest version with the streamlined presentation. Overall, the changes to the original modules are existing and if you're like me, you'll notice them, but overall, to me the quality of the new levels is what makes this incarnation. Changes to the old content are mostly subtle.
hogarth, without giving away too much:
7 (or so) new low - mid level areas (pc levels 1-9), 3 new solid mid level (pc level 10) areas, 3 new high level areas (pc levels 15-18+) multiple new entrances (low to high level difficulty). Stat overhaul (reflect PF rules) and some creature changes (IP).
I have the individual modules and the box set - I think for the additions alone it's worth it. If you play 3.5 you can leave in the ip monsters (which I prefer) which was part of the change, but overall the new content/levels and additions to the whole package make this thing run a bit smoother and with more options for sustained campaign play.
So, you will not have to carry an entire library to have all of RA, just 3 books.
I see on FGG's website that their is a 6 issue or 12 issue subscription. Does that mean that CD is expecting two hard cover books?
Also, are we going to have an option to fulfill the CD subscriptions on Paizo, or are these FGG exclusive?
At this time it isn't decided if it will be 1 hardcover or 2. It depends on how many subscribers we get. Stay tuned for more info on this.
We are confirming we WILL print 2 hardcover books for Cyclopean Deep. 1 hardcover for the 1st year subscription and another hardcover for the 2nd year subscription. And of course for those questioning if the RA sub will be hardcover, it will as well. I hope that clears up all the sub questions :)

Thanks for that! Though I do have one more question...
Will there be a PDF-only option for Cyclopean Deep?
Ok in my PDF page 213 is a blank white page. Sounds like this is likely a problem with Apple Preview.

Hey the level 4 map of the Temple is so awesome, we decided to include it twice at no additional cost...<crickets>....yup, thats an error, but the level 4A map does show up on page 213....sorry!
The FGG website offers RA supplements for sale. It says that quantities are limited, but I suppose that must refer to the print editions of those supplements. Anyway, I have the new RA (in pdf for now -- I am awaiting the hardcover). I have the impression that the supplementary material is already included in the file that I have, and that the supplements are being sold separately only for people who don't have the new RA.
Is this correct?
This might be obvious to someone involved with the Kickstarter -- either from FGG or as a backer -- but I didn't find out about the KS in time, so I am trying to catch up.
Willmontgomery:
I dont know about thekickstarter, but I bought the new rappan athuk PDF and the supplements.
The supplements had a mind-blowingly good players guide. A bunch of new pregens that aren't in the appendices of RA. More maps at battle map scale, also useful because it's a separate document you can print or keep open so you don't have to flip back and forth to find the page with the map. Bestiary... Worth it for similar reason to the maps.
I didn't get the GM Screen, waiting for hard copy on that one,

The supplements are not included in the main book. They are all new content. The print editions are limited. Once we sell out we will keep the PDFs for sale.
Is there an update as to when Paizo will receive the Tome and begin shipping? I have the pdf but anxiously waiting to flip through the hardcover pages.
I have the original 3E RA books 1 and 2. One of the appeals of this new iteration is the support for levels 1-6. Can anyone summarize the new low-level content? Thanks.
I've only been gaming for a couple of years so I've never heard of Rappan Athuk before. I've read the reviews and product discussion and I think I've put together an idea of what it is. What I'd really love is an introduction to what it is all about intended for a newb like me. Any takers?
Endzeitgeist's review does a pretty good job of describing the Dungeon of Graves. At the top of the thread just click on "product reviews" and see what he has to say!
So, it's basically a super-deadly megadungeon. Is there a cohesive plot or is it just a meat grinder? Any idea what level it should take PCs up to? Is it standalone or does it tie into another story? Are there good hooks built in to entice PCs to delve into certain death or is that on the GM?

There's a loose plot, with various sub-plots throughout. It can handle PCs of levels 1 through 20+. It's fairly stand-alone, although there are ties to Slumbering Tsar, (and it's very easily to create ties to Splinters of Faith). FGG is also putting out six more levels via subscription, and there is another subscription called Cyclopean Deeps that has some ties (it's essentially the Underdark underneath Rappan Athuk.
I was wondering if this would be worth purchasing with the intent of taking some of the high level content and re-branding it as the inner workings of Gallowspire? Other then the final foe, and pruning the top few levels out I would be looking to do as little work as possible to make this fly. The intent to have it kick in right after the end of Carrion Crown.
This is just an awful month for this to be released in, my subscription shipment this month includes the Fall of my Disposable Income Collectors edition, I mean RotRL:CE:)
