Paizo Publishing's incredible award-winning fantasy RPG is now the ultimate fantasy comic from Dynamite Entertainment!
Valeros can rely on his sword arm and his friends, the mysterious and beautiful sorcerer Seoni and the silver-tongued quick-witted elven rogue Merisiel, but nothing can prepare him for the dangers that lurk ahead. The scattered and chaotic goblin tribes of Varisia are changing, growing in power and unifying in ways no one has ever seen before. At the heart of this strange evolution is an ancient evil looking to establish itself anew.
The iconic heroes at the core of the Pathfinder world are brought to life for the first time in a brand-new story full of charm and high adventure that will please fans and entertain new readers alike. Issue 1 clocks in at 40 pages, and includes more than 10 pages of character profiles and Pathfinder RPG game statistics, plus an EXCLUSIVE removable, playable tactical map and poster.
This cover variant was produced by Dynamite Entertainment specifically for the paizo.com audience, and is not available in retail stores.
Well I picked up a copy of the comic today, one of the alternate covers. It was pretty cool all and all, though felt short. Of course I did read the first 8 page preview before so that didn't help with making it feel long. The extra stuff seems to mostly be reprint of information about Sandpoint. Though it does have stat blocks for a couple of the NPC's in Sandpoint, a mini encounter.
Got my copy from the FLG&CS, and while I'm very impressed with the Paizo parts, and I love most of the alternate cover choices, the art style of the comic itself is hard to look at. Characters aren't consistently drawn from frame to frame, everything is "grotesque" styled (by that I mean facial proportions are off), etc. We've seen dozens of stylistic renderings of the Iconics, from near-realistic to manga-ish, and I'm disappointed that a look so radically different from previous work (not to mention the comic cover and character bios in the back) was chosen by the artist for this comic.
That being said, the story is chock-full of flavor and has me wanting more. And Seoni's disgusted look is pretty fantastic. You'll know the look I mean when you see it. The Sandpoint intro stuff is good, though mostly stuff experienced players have seen before, and I really like the idea of including an encounter map and scenario in the issue; a practice I hope continues, especially if they ramp up the CR to match the issue number or something.
So I'm grudgingly looking forward to future issues.

If you mean physical size it is normal comic book size. If you mean page count it has 22 pages of comic in it, 12 pages of Pathfinder Golarion information, 6 pages of adds, not counting the inside covers.
I like the format and extras...hope at some point the extras will be new. (the sandpoint info is mostly reprint)
unimpressed by the interior art. dynamite has much better.
I like that these are new adventures, but I definitely would buy comics of established adventure paths.
I thought the mini scenario at the back was a great idea!

Physical size as I want to get Ultra Pro bags to store these puppies in. I am not a comic book guru/collector but wish to preserve these comics.
I got the comic at GenCon. Most copies were bent up. Finally found one to my liking. After reading i can say i enjoyed the story, but the art was horrid. I sure hope they have new artists to different arcs.

Normal comic book size which is 10 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide.
Picked up my copy yesterday. I have to agree with some of the other posters - the art is a little off in places. I had to keep double checking panels to see who was who in some places. When you have to do that for iconics, something is wrong.
I liked the format and I'll give it a try for a few issues and hope that it picks up.
I picked mine up at my FLGS and I agree with the comments on the art. That particular style was definitely not for me.
The artist, though obviously talented, seems to have no concept of human anatomy. It seemed to me that, in certain panels, some of the characters teeth took on a life of their own. I can only assume it was meant to purposefully illicit a laugh as they appear so comically abnormal. Attempts to display different emotions changed not only facial features, but the entire shape of the head. Very strange, I hope they change the art style somewhere down the road.
On the plus side, I liked the cover art and the mini map/poster that came with it.
I've been meaning to say this for a while, since I couldn't hold out and got a copy at my FLGS for my friend's birthday, but I sure hope the lil' battlemat included in this copy becomes a staple of the series.
What a great way to introduce some insteresting locals that insire adventure but don't necessarily fit into one of the map packs. A+ folks, just pure gaming gold.
I asked a while ago about a method of obtaining the encounter map in an electronic format, as Comixology does not include it. Any news?
Any news about this possibility? I bought my digital copy at comixology and I have tokens on the junk beach map. Is it this the case also for printed copy? Paizo could you share a copy of the clean map in someway? I'll buy my printed copies with the next order...
The battlemats will be included *at least* through issue 6. We're still in discussion with Dynamite about making them available digitally—for now, the print comic is the only way to get them.

Wonderful if the printed copy has not the token superimposed to the map this is another reason for me to buy it... The problem here is still that I pay more for the order than for the books then I'll have to wait my next pathfinder novel shipping...
Any thoughts on how to store the battlemats? I'd like to store these in a way they won't get worn out if at all possible. 5x4.5 or so is a little tricky to find a container... 3x5 index card container just won't cut it. Leaving them unfolded at 10x16 would work but I can't find a properly sized protector.
