The Rise of the Runelords Deluxe Collector's Edition is not part of any subscription, but Pathfinder Adventure Path subscribers who preorder this book will receive a free PDF edition of this book when the print edition ships. (Note that you will need to have an active AP subscription at the time the Deluxe Collector's Edition ships in order to receive the PDF for free.)
Rise of the Runelords Deluxe Collector's Edition is sanctioned for use in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. The rules and Chronicle sheets for running this Adventure Path are available as a free download (438 KB zip/PDF).
I know it's technically impossible, but it's really painful to know someone is already reding it and I can't because I am preordering the deluxe edition. Would be nice to be able to buy the PDF now (40 USD) and have those 40 USD discounted when the collector edition is out. Looks like win-win to me even though it's certainly difficult from an administrative point of view.
Thanks for showing this off at Paizocon Vic, but to be honest I'd already pre-ordered it. :-)
One question/comment, I hope that you pack it really well for posting, my postie seems to love dinging the corners of all my Paizo products he delivers.

Agreed.
I'd be curious on how you plan to pack this for shipping. Will it be like your normal hardcover books (which is good packing for their size), or will even more packing be put in due to the weight, size and expense of the book?
We've sold almost exactly half of the available copies. (We're currently holding about 10% of the run in reserve, just in case our printer underruns, or a few cases get damaged in transit, or other such things.)
We'll be spending a lot of extra effort making sure these arrive in the best condition possible.
That's on Erik's timeline, and he's pretty busy. (Also, we're waiting for a revised printer proof, which is supposed to be arriving imminently.) But it will be up long before we either sell out or start shipping!
Just received my Anniversary edition in the mail and I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. I have the original ROTRL Pathfinders but couldn't resist the hardcover and it is obvious that it was a labor of love. Kudos to you, as well as a dove-clap. It is just beautiful.
I hope that sales of this anniversary edition go very well for you as that may entice you to do something like it again down the road.
Any chance of an Age of Worms hardcover with a Golarion setting? Not sure if there would be copyright problems there.
I am hoping the book is wrapped in bubble wrap, packed with solid styrofoam corners, injected with peanuts, and then the entire thing is duct taped into a tight, bullet proof package.
I'll try to put up a video some time next week, assuming the final version arrives as anticipated.
The most important thing everyone needs to understand is that the case that holds the book (the thing pictured in the product image at the top of this page) is HUUUUUUUGE!
Vic the tempter also persuaded me to cancel my regular order and get this one instead.
It seems like a number of folks are in this boat. :)
Personally, if I were going to drop $200 on a collector's edition, I'd probably by the normal one, too. I don't think I would actually use a $200 book at the table. Then again, I'm very hard on books...

That's what I did. There's no way I'm going to ruin the pages by using them regularly at the table. It's going right next to my autographed copy of Ptolus.
Wow I splashed for this, just amazing. Now how long is it until I can replace my (scrawled in with errata) Core Book with a 10th Anniversary Leather one?

Seeing how the core book came out in 2009, I would say the 10th Anniversary core book will be out in 2019.
Did George Lucas just get hired at Paizo? Come on Paizo, you're better than this nonsense.
With the assumption you're not trying to be a jerk, I'd like to discuss this. If at the moment of product release Paizo had said "we're doing two different bindings... one is utilitarian and the other is a physically attractive version", would this still be Lucasian? I mean, then it's just "do you want to large-size your fries?" Or, "do you want the optional sunroof, and HEMI?"

Haha was a joke, and that is too long for a Deluxe Core Book, how about a 5 year, or even 4 year version ;-)

Congrats on making the most awesome book ever. Seriously.
This edition is sort of a pinnacle in RPG publishing, and Paizo has just raised the bar on what is possible.
Can't wait for my copy. Of course, I'm looking forward to watching Paizo clear that bar next year (in that never-satisfied, unreasonable way of customers everywhere). :)

Wow, where are you? Mine's showing $108, to Australia. I generally assume it's more expensive to get stuff here than anywhere else (being miles away from anywhere).. :/
Personally, I think that Adventure Path subscribers who pre-ordered this should recieve the Anniversary Edition PDF, for perusing while waiting for this to hit the mailboxes.
Note that you will need to have an active AP subscription at the time the Deluxe Collector's Edition ships in order to receive the PDF for free.
Paizo could, I suppose, charge you for the PDF now, and deduct the cost for the PDF from your eventual product price (assuming you don't cancel the order, and still have an Adventure Path subscription). But that's quite a lot of work for a one-off situation.
That's assuming the PDF of the deluxe edition is substantially the same as the PDF for the anniversary edition, with just a few additional items. If there are more than a few differences, they are different products.
I can't comment on the post in the Paizo Blog (that page is weird, no comments section) about the new display cases. But it does have this in the bottom, but it is one of the WORST blurry cam images I have seen. Please Paizo guys, throw us non-GenCon-ers a bone and give us a decent set of pics of this :)

Germany. And that's not all. I must pay toll and taxes. The result is a 400 USD adventure for the book. To much :(
I was worried about how I would pay for this one so I sold some old promo minis. 2 minis on ebay = 120$ = no more worries! Now I just need November to roll around.
Ebay can be a friend or a curse....since I see so much on their that I WANT....never ending cycle....
To the powers of Paizo...if a person brought it down to the next Gencon or Paizo con think a person could get it signed.....not sure I want to run the risk of tranport unless I was sure I could persaude people for a signature.
