This is the worst storm giant that I've seen. I don't like everything about this figure. I'd prefer green skin to the humanoid skin. The purple hair is bad. The shield is bad. The green trident is terrible. The armor is poorly sculpted.
First off, it's great seeing any kind of woman dressed in garb that isn't just eye candy. The colors are vibrant and she looks heroic, posed like she is getting ready to toss her trident into something even bigger then her. As a huge mini it really commands attention and the only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the back shaft of the weapon is a bit 'floppy' but so is the nature of the material these figures are cast in.
The paint job is very simple but ok.
What ruins this mini is the pose - what is she doing with her shield behind her back?
Also the green trident is bended and too thin.
Not worth $19. I paid €14,90 but i am a collector.
Of the entire set, and definitely the huges, this one is the saddest. A huge model like this is an opportunity to make something truly special. A huge canvas to sculpt plenty of detail and have a cool paint job. Instead we get a verbatim copy of the artwork from Giants Revisited. Little detail, and a flat paint job. The back of the cape and front of the shield scream to have a pattern or symbol on them, but instead they are completely blank. And what's up with that wrist? This gal must have particularly loose joints.
The good news is that since this is a nice big model, it's fairly easy to modify. I found a LotR Aragorn action figure at my local second hand store that allowed me to get her lower body properly armoured and to put a less cartoonish weapon into her hand (after some surgery to reset that wrist). Three dollars, a hobby knife, some glue, paint, and a bit of experimenting can get you something like this (a good start I'd say).
At $18.99 though, this mini is way over-priced for what you get.
