What I dont understand is that we had already a mat called "prison" last year. This mat watch post seem like a duplicate for it. How many prisons motives are necessary?
Wouldnt it be better to have more exotic mats with new motives like desert villages or asian city?
This appears to exactly represent the town square in front of the Sandpoint Cathedral from the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path. I think this is awesome!
I'd really like to see at least some of the mundane locations in the Adventure Paths and Modules feature the GameMastery Flip-Maps and Map Packs. Heck, it would be cool if the maps were even featured in the Pathfinder Society Sanctioned Modules.
I really like using props in my games, but I don't do a lot of custom adventure design. I have many of the flip-maps and map packs but I almost never find a reason to use them.
I really like this. A lot of the city/town square maps tend to look... well... too square. This looks more the way I imagine a town square to look. The side with the wall could be handy for a few different scenarios as well.

That's exactly what it is, in fact. One side of the map will be used specifically for (Runelords spoilers follow!)...
Spoiler:
... the goblin attack at the start of Burnt Offerings, while the same map as well as the one on the back will be used for the stone giant/dragon attack at the start of Fortress of the Stone Giants. The maps are even going to be reprinted in the upcoming Anniversary edition of Runelords.
I know that many would disagree with me, but I'm all for the maps in the APs being reprinted in flip mat style. If I could have my wish, all of them would be printed so that I'd never have to use the dry-erase/battlemat nonsense.
Awesome. I don't even play RotRL but I'm going to pick up one of these in case I do one day. I applaud Paizo's continuing efforts to tie the game mastery line to the adventure paths. Does Paizo listen to its customers? Yes. As a result, they are getting my money.
