The giant is puny compared to other giant miniatures. I also am not a fan of the replaceable hand. This is the only instance of WizKids making a Pathfinder miniature with a swap-able weapon option and probably because the idea fell short. Whatever 'hand' is not being used is too small and just gets lost in my storage container. It would have been better to just have two variant giants like they did with the goblins and orcs. But with the sculpt being unattractive, I don't need a second one of these anyway.
When opening my case I was impress with this figure. I can not wait to put him on the table. He just looks cool. He is heavy. He feels good in your hand. Plastic mini do not feel like minis to me. They feel like action figures. This one is great.
I like the difference, I just wish they'd made two miniatures cast in one piece with a 50/50 chance of getting each. Plug and play minis seemed a bit gimmicky to me.
I'm sure they'll work fine as is - but I'm concerned at their ability to stand up to much switching around. It's also one more fiddly thing to find a way to store and access when necessary.
I got my case last night and as I was staring at the pile of mini boxes this was the first one I opened up, seeing the swappable hand had me wincing thinking how long it was going to take to put them all together.
It is very neat being able to change the weapon on him, though I'm glad I didn't need to do that with all of them. Love the set.
Actually everything turned out better than expected. I purchased a few more boosters from my FLGS after posting and pulled another Frost Giant. Now I have a home for both hands. Huzzah!
I like this customization ability and would love to see it extended in some modular way to many figures of a similar size. Wouldn't it be cool if this giant's sword and axe could be interchanged with a later giant's spear and club?
My frost giant came with his right fist broken off at the upper cuff of the wristband. Thanks to a recommendation on these boards, I tried the Loctite Plastics Bonding System -- which sounds very fancy, but was only $3.77 at Home Depot -- and it worked great. I've already dropped the poor guy by accident, and the fist stayed on.
The swappable weapon is a neat idea, but I'm not sure how useful it will be for the long haul. Don't come across frost giants all that often. As a side not, I see a LOT of scale issues between the various large sized figures, but I'm sure others have already commented on it!
In future Gian rekeases could you put the weapon in a low guard postion
with a huge figure this would make storage much easier. BTW the Frost giat is a real cool Mini I plan on buying one as a single.
GREAT, they have a support site setup but no reply when you open a case. Opened mine up on from their site

and as of today not a word. What craptastic service, IMHO. I have a large collection of miniatures from the other W company and not a one was missing a part. Beginning to regret they are not in the miniatures business any longer; since my alternative is turning out to be a disappointment.
