Sometimes rules supplements read like the world-setting bible of frustrated novelists. While solid world-building is a useful skill, you don’t always need four paragraphs of flavor text to tell you swords are cool, magic is power, shadows are scary, and orcs are savage. Sometimes a GM doesn’t have time to slog through a page of history for every magic weapon. Sometimes all that’s needed are a few cool ideas, with just enough information to use them in a game. Sometimes, all you need are bullet points.

#1 With A Bullet Point is a line of very short, cheap PDFs each of which gives the bare bones of a set of related options. It may be five spells, six feats, eight magic weapon special abilities, or any other short set of related rules we can cram into about a page. Short and simple, these PDFs are for GMs and players who know how to integrate new ideas into their campaigns without any hand-holding, and just need fresh ideas and the rules to support them. No in-character fiction setting the game world. No charts and tables. No sidebars of explanations and optional rules. Just one sentence of explanation for the High Concept of the PDF, then bullet points.

The High Concept: Seven feats designed to augment the options and utility of time thieves and time wardens (from The Genius Guide to the Time Thief and The Genius Guide to the Time Warden).).

The feats included are:

  • Aevum Mastery
  • Alternate Self
  • Last-Second Save
  • Mote Mastery
  • Opportune Blow
  • Precognition
  • Timely Detonation

Neat, concisely-written supplement

*****

This pdf is 3 pages long, 1 page front cover/introduction, 1 page SRD, leaving 1 page of content:

-Aevum Mastery: Lets you take another aevum power from eithe time thief or time warden list. While it enables one class to scavenge in the other's list, that can be home-brewed and is not exactly what I buy pdfs for.

-Alternate Self: Spend one aevum to temporarily gain 3 skill points or one feat (for which you must meet the prerequisites), which an alternate self from another timeline has learned. Great feat, cool idea!

-Last-Second Save: Spend one mote of time to make a critical hit or a sneak attack a normal attack. Again, neat idea!

-Mote Mastery: Spend a mote to take mote manipulation options from another class at a lower level. Once again, ok idea, but nothing that gets me excited.

-Opportune Blow: Temporarily gain a limited form of sneak attack depending on your level for a mote.

-Precognition: Spend an aevum for a 90% accurate divination spell.

-Timely Detonation: Spend 1 mote to add your mote bonus dice to the total damage dealt by spells you cast.

Conclusion:
Editing and formatting are top-notch, no glitches to be found. Layout adheres to SGG's 3-column standard and the pdf has no bookmarks, but at this length need none. This collection of feats comes at an extremely affordable price, provides quality content and is a neat addition for the time-classes. So, due to this, I'm going to ignore the 2 feats that didn't excite me as much and still award a full 5 stars - well done!

Endzeitgeist out.

Another Timely Addition

*****

The Bullet Points series continues with a solid addition aimed straight at the two classes SGG gave us to handle those who use time to do the amazing, The Time Thief and Warden. I'll admit, the picture of Jenny on the cover brings a lot to this Bullet Point, but it was actually the font treatment for the Feat titles that grabbed me with this one. It gave the whole layout and page a very different vibe, a very cool vibe if you will. And all they did was splash a cool color on them, lol, but it works.

The format is of course what we've come to know so well with this series
3 pages - Cover/Feats/OGL
Artwork - Photo cover, again on the right hand side of the page as we saw with the Dragonrider Bullet Point, and a second photo on the OGl, both excellent pictures that help this product pop

The Feats
Aevum Mastery gain an additional aevum power
Alternate Self tap the knowledge of those other yous
Last Second Save "You're dead!" "No I'm not." "I killed you!" "nah, just a scratch"
Mote Mastery gain access to Mote Manipulation options based upon total character level
Opportune Blow All the time in the world to find the weak spots in their defense, then, take advantage of it.
Precognition Just like Bill and Ted, you will receive warnings from yourself, from the future (Trashcan! Trashcan! Trashcan!)
Timely Detonation use motes to add to the damage dice for a cast spell.

As usual, I saw no grammatical errors, or spelling mistakes. This is yet another Bullet Point that belongs in your collection folks, and is an excellent addition to the Time Classes. If you haven't picked either of the two Time classes yet, this PDF at a dollar would be a great way to get a look at what to expect from the classes.

I'm not sure a 5 star is high enough given that I'm so eager to use these feats, so I'm cheating and giving this one a 6 star.

Bullet Points: 7 Time Thief & Time Warden Feats

Just purchased this PDF and as expected the Genius' did not disappoint. Like all of their bullet points line it is three pages the Cover with a nice pic of Jenny Poussin in her Time Thief outfit.
Page two you get the following 7 feats:
Aevum Mastery: Select one additional Aevum Power.
Alternate Self: Spend an Aevum to switch out a feat or 3 skills for an hour.
Last Second Save: Spend a Mote of Time to ignore extra critical dice damage or sneak attack damage making it a normal hit instead.
Mote Mastery:Allows Time Thieves and Time Wardens to take mote options from each other at the cost of spending a mote.
Opportune Blow: Spend a mote of time to do sneak attack damage.
Precognition: spend an Aevum to gain the benefits of a divination spell.
Timely Detonation:spend a mote of time to add your mote bonus die to the damage of a spell you cast.

All of these work very well with both the Time Thief and the Time Warden. Well written, easy to understand, and don't over power the existing classes.

If you play a Time Thief or a Time Warden then this 1 dollar purchase is worth every penny, If you don't have the Time Thief or Time Warden I highly recommend them as they are excellent base classes. It is because of these types of PDFs that I got back into gaming.

I give this 5 stars good feats well worth a dollar.
