Even adventurers who feel at home fighting dragons feel uneasy in the swamp, where tiny insects bring terrible disease and one can never be sure just how deep the water might be—or what might lurk beneath it! This portable, affordable map measures 24" x 30" unfolded, and 8" x 10" folded. Its coated surface can handle any dry erase, wet erase, or even permanent marker. Usable by experienced GMs and novices alike, GameMastery Flip-Mats fit perfectly into any Game Master’s arsenal!

On tabletops across the world, the Flip-Mat Revolution is changing the way players run their fantasy roleplaying games! Why take the time to sketch out ugly scenery on a smudgy plastic mat when dynamic encounters and easy clean-up is just a Flip away?

Pretty awesome

4/5

Luv the pure swamp map.
Not so much into the edifices but can dig it for future ideas.
General enough to work with for many encounters.

PFS intro III must have!

5/5

I run the PFS Intro series all the time and when I come to number three and can just whip out this map a complicated map to draw out is taken care of quickly. Such a time saver and my players love it.

Useful but not swampy enough

3/5

Don't get me wrong... I'll be using this map quite a bit. The side without ruins is pretty versatile but, for a swamp map, it doesn't look particularly swampy. The Witchlight Fen tiles from D&D did a better job on that account, although the water in that tile set was pretty blue!

The fact that this map was marginally swampy looking is a secondary complaint to the cartoony look to the cartography. Later Paizo maps- particularly by Jason Engle- have more of a realistic look to them.

For the price they ask, you aren't wasting your money on this map. I knew what I was getting before I picked it up and went ahead anyway.

3/5

It's a great looking map for a number of terrains, unfortunately however, it just isn't very "swampy" looking.

My players are in a swamp NOW! *whimper*

Oh well, I have at least one other swamp adventure planned and can hold off on it until this is in my hands. I've been using one of the forest flipmats to represent the swamp presently. They just had a random encounter with a huge crocodile.

I've updated the product image to reflect the finished product.

It looks like the back of this is filled with paths, is that correct or is it featureless?

The back has very similar paths, with a few fallen trees, but no ruins.

That sounds perfect for what I need, thanks Vic.

Reminds me alittle bit about the area around the Moathouse from the Temple of Elemental Evil! Which is quite alright with me! One of my favorite early adventures.

It turns out that you can only add the same item to a list once. I should have remembered this from the last time I saw this item and tried to add it the second time.

This one looks really nice... can't get here soon enough.

Scarab Sages

Why not show both sides? Seriously?

I'm curious about this as well...

Scarab Sages

Not the first time I've asked. Still no answer. I honestly dont understand it.

Worried that somehow, someone would be able to blow up and print each illustration without buying the product??? Seems unlikely... and they could also write "sample" across the images as they do for map pack previews...So yeah, this decision is a bit puzzling, and definitely not the best approach to marketing.

Has the paper changed for this flip mat? It feels a bit different than my other flip mats -- not bad, just different. Or I could be totally wrong.

I'll ask about it, but I bet the answer is that it is just the way that it has been done in the past. The art staff has been really busy getting caught up and haven't had a chance to look at past decisions like this to see if it still makes sense. I personally don't see a reason why we can't show both sides when they both have an image.

Thanks for the insight, Lisa.

Does this mat use a different paper than previous ones? It feels somewhat thinner -- not in an unacceptable way, but definitely different. (Sorry if this is a duplicate; I can't see my previous post to this effect.)

We did switch printers with this one, and we spec'd out the same paper weight as previous Flip-Mats... but it appears that this printer's paper stock is slightly more flexible at the same weight. So we got in some samples, and this time selected for rigidity instead of weight, so future Flip-Mats will be as rigid as they were before, but they'll actually be slightly heavier.

Thanks! Yeah, that's exactly what it feels like -- more flexible, not less sturdy. I think I'll like the final decision you went with. I appreciate the insight into the process.

Is this product likely to be reprinted?

Webstore Gninja Minion

We generally do not reprint Flip-Mats, but we will often make new versions of Flip-Mats with a similar theme (Forest to Deep Forest, for example).
