Flip-Mat: Dungeon will spice up your dungeon adventures! There are plenty of dark, eerie rooms, stairs and paths to explore. Take the winding staircase down or the hand-dug tunnel out to keep the adventure going. The FLIP side is a full-size area of stone floor.

Illustrated by Jason Engle.

The Dungeon measures 24" x 30" unfolded and 8" x 10" folded.

The Steel Sqwire Flip-Mat is designed to make your game portable & affordable. It is constructed of durable laminated card stock (~70 lb paper—comparable to that of a restaurant menu).

When mapping out your adventures you will no longer have to worry about the markers that you or your players may be traveling with. The Flip-Mat can handle wet-erase, dry-erase, and permanent markers.

NOTE: Copies sold as "Non-Mint" have been dinged or bent during the course of shipment, so we're making them available at a discounted price. While they have some cosmetic damage, they're still very usable. There will be no refunds on these non-mint copies.

I just got my first Flip-Mats a couple of days ago: Flip-Mat Dungeon and City Market. These are beautiful maps and they really get the creative juices flowing. However, I have one big problem with them: I can't seem to get them to lay flat. I have trouble keeping minis from falling over, etc. I really want to use these in lieu of a generic mat, but I need to find some way to flatten them out and keep them fairly flat during game play.

Again, great product, I just need to figure out how to make them practical for use during the game.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know what you mean about map creases knocking minis over. I have found that placing my maps under my rug and my "rug-grippy-thingy"(the thing that keeps the rug from sliding on hardwood floor) iron them out quite nicely. Basically anything heavy and flat will work so long as it covers the creases when the map is unfolded. Hope this helps.

Oh and another thing I do is keep my maps unfolded after my rug has smoothed them out. That way I do not have to keep ironing maps. I found that an under bed storage container is great for holding ironed maps.

I have four flip mats and have no trouble with them. Just use something fairly heavy on the corners and then hang them up flat somewhere or store them under something flat. Once the creases break in they'll lay flat even after you fold them up. I love these mats!!!!

Excellent! I'll have to give this a try! Thanks for the advice, guys!

Try a sheet of plexiglass which you can pick up from most DIY stores.
I use a 32"x24" 4mm thick sheet which is great for giving a flat surface with any map or tile product.

Bonus is you can use marker pens on your plexiglass and easliy remove with a wet cloth.

I just bend mine the opposite direction of the folds, and they lie very flat for me.

Thanks, Lisa. I thought of that, but I was kind of hesitant...I wasn't sure how sturdy they are. But if it works for you, I'll give it a shot. (I also like SteveMC's suggestion about plexiglass--but I'm going to try bending them first).

Again, awesome product!

Looks like this has been out of print for 3 years. Is there a chance it will be reprinted? I'd definitely buy one if it was reprinted...

Try this one. It is still in stock.

Right, that's not exactly what I asked. Thanks though.

Thanks Itchy, I picked one up after searching high and low for it (not sure why I did not see it here).

They don't reprint flip mats, unfortunately (other than the basic flipmat). Although there are many of us who don't have it, there are many who do. That means there's likely to be not as strong demand for a reprint (so they'd have to print less and force their costs up or sit on a significant amount if stock for a long time and tie up capital).

I doubt they've ever said never, but in general their strategy is to put out new, similarly themed maps rather than reprint old ones.

If I get the pdf of this map and use standard print paper, does it come in sections so that you can piece it together? I'm just trying to figure, how this works in my downloads.

Thanks,

The PDF has two large pages, one for the front, and one for the back. Your printer software will usually provide the option to tile oversized images, and because it knows things that we don't—like what the actual printable area of your printer is—it should be able to do a better job than we could do.

Thanks Vic, I will have to figure it out. I'm not computer savvy, that is why ask.

Thanks again!
