Unleash the hordes on your gaming table with an ongoing subscription to Pathfinder Battles, the exciting prepainted miniatures line from Paizo Publishing and WizKids! Released several times a year in a variety of formats, these collectible miniatures add three-dimensional style to your Pathfinder Roleplaying Game adventures! Based on the award-winning imagery of the Pathfinder RPG, these beautiful figurines will be produced in limited quantities. Since many figures will never be reprinted, an ongoing Pathfinder Battles subscription is your best chance to get the latest figures before they run out!

Pathfinder Battles ongoing subscriptions allow you to tailor your subscription to fit your collecting needs. Specify the number of cases of randomly packed Pathfinder Battles releases you wish to receive, and Paizo will send your miniatures direct to your door via your preferred shipping method.

Major releases are currently scheduled about every 4 months. Each set has a slightly different figure count, premium miniatures, and price, so all Pathfinder Battles ongoing subscriptions are based on full case orders. Due to variability between sets, Paizo will contact you before a new set ships to give you a chance to adjust your orders according to your collecting needs.

In addition to major randomly packed sets like Heroes & Monsters and Rise of the Runelords, Pathfinder Battles will also come in a variety of non-random Encounter Packs and Builder Series packs as well as special limited-edition premium miniatures. Your Pathfinder Battles subscription does not include these miniatures, but does allow you to purchase them at a reduced cost.

In addition to your guaranteed case order, your Pathfinder Battles ongoing subscription entitles you to the following benefits:

  • The right to purchase one limited-edition case premium miniature at 75% off its normal retail price per case ordered.
  • 30% off our price on paizo.com purchases of loose, unpackaged Pathfinder Battles miniature singles to help you fill in your collection.

Your ongoing subscription will bring you your chosen number of cases of each new randomly packaged Pathfinder Battles set as it’s released, automatically continuing with each new release until you choose to cancel your subscription. We'll automatically charge your credit card before we ship a new release. You only need to sign up once, and never need to worry about renewal notices or missed releases!

Ability to subscribe to the current Pathfinder Battles set will be limited based on our ability to guarantee cases and case premiums. If we can no longer guarantee availability of a given case or case premium, we will no longer take new subscriptions that begin with that set, so customers are encouraged to sign up an ongoing subscription as soon as possible.

If you have other Paizo subscriptions, you can combine them with your Pathfinder Battles shipment, or choose to ship your miniatures separately.

When you start an ongoing subscription, any existing case preorders for products covered by your subscription are automatically cancelled (or, if you've preordered more cases than you choose to subscribe to, the preorder will be reduced by the number of cases you chose to subscribe to).

Hobbun, you may want to take a look at this post.

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

The irony is I just read over that post a few hours before and obviously completely missed it. Thanks Ross.

Hmm, was hoping I didn't have to buy another standard case for another Rune Giant, but I can see why you have it set up that way. I may just add 3 cases for my subscription. However, will have to mull over it, that is getting to be very expensive.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

If its useful to you, James Jacobs mentioned (somewhere or other) that in the RotRL rewrite, it is unlikely you'll need multiple rune giants in any single encounter.

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I know it would be blasphemous, but I'm not even sure we will be running RotRL. My DM almost never uses modules (and has never used an AP), so I doubt he would run it (however much I would love going through it).

I more am buying the miniatures because we use them in our own homebrew campaigns and a collector. I know a Rune Giant is Golarian specific (at least I think it is), but I could see my DM using him because he looks really threatening.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

Ah, I see. I'm in the same boat actually but the RotRL rewrite may tip me from three cases to two.

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

What do you mean? How will the rewrite cause you to buy less? Not trying to sound critical, just curious.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

Spoiler:
In the original, there was a chance of meeting three rune giants at once ( maybe even more I think). Even though I'm unlikely to run it that high, if that were still the situation, I'd probably want three rune giant figures "just in case" I ended up running the AP in its entirety some day. If that scenario is less likely, there's less reason to get three rune giants.

Although three standard cases is probably more than I need, I'm quite tempted to get three huge cases - so a third rune giant isn't an impossibility, just less likely.

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

See, I was actually thinking about getting a third Huge case. Just for the fact that I would have three of each huge mini and it should cover any ‘parties’ if we ran into them, and I just love the bigger minis in general. And was hoping I could qualify for a Rune Giant with that third huge case.

But just to let you know, the Rune Giant is a Gargantuan mini, not Huge. So if you want that third Rune Giant, you would need to get a third standard case.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

Yeah, that's my quandary. I want three giants and three huge cases, but I don't know that I can justify three standard cases. Depending on costs, I suspect I'll end up with only two rune giants and a third huge case. I'll be interested to see how the giants look next to the recent gargantuan orcus.

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Heh, that's the same boat I am in. I would like a third Rune Giant as well, and I am all for buying a third Huge case, but not really sure I want to shell out the extra money for another standard case.

I might go up to 3 for my subscription, but will have to give it some thought. I know some people have extrapulated the pricing for the case, but going to wait on official pricing before I make any decision.

I would like 4 Rune Giants and it is not necessarily for RotR encounters. The only Gargantuan figure available up until now is Orcus. The first time I ran Runelords I only had Dragons (Orcus had not been released). I just want some Gargantuan Humanoid figures that do not have wings. (Not that I do not intend them to be used as Runelords - just want them in general).

Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Are the Rune Giants Golarian specific? Meaning, are they only in the RotRL AP? Or are they in one of the Bestiaries, as well?

If they are in the Bestiaries, I could see my DM using them.

You can always buy the 3rd figure from another dealer. For example, Miniature Market currently advertizes that they have 19 Black Dragons from H&M in stock for $29.00. Sure you'll pay more for a Rune Giant at MM than you would with your Paizo case sub discount, but it's also likely to be less than buying an additional standard case that you don't want or need. That's my current plan.

Do you have any ideas as to how many Encounter Packs are likely to be released from the Heroes and Monsters set? Is it likely that they will all have been announced (if not released) by the time the Rise of the Runelords set is available?

Thinking of an Encounter Pack as coming from a particular set is probably not going to remain a viable proposition. I fully expect that at least some Encounter Packs that come out after the Rise of the Runelords set will contain repaints of figures from H&M as well as RotR.

That said, while there are several potential Encounter Pack ideas kicking around in development, I don't think WizKids plans on releasing any of them before Rise of the Runelords is released.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

Ah, I see. That makes sense. (Let me put in a vote for the obvious 'goblin pack' featuring repaints of each of the H&M goblins together with each of the RoTRL goblins).

Cheers.

That's much more sensible than my approach. I'll have to see just what the pricepoint is to evaluate my irrationality.

I have this fear about my credit card details propagating through the world, unfortunately so I dont generally buy much online other than from Paizo and Amazon.

"Should we do an all-goblin encounter pack" is a pretty easy question.

"How many different goblins should we make before we do an all-goblin encounter pack" is the one that requires a bit more thought.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

See that's why you do what you do and I should stick to what I do (namely - not run an RPG company).

No pressure or anything, but hopefully there's one released before the H&M discounts expire. :)

I wouldn't worry *too* much about the price of a case going up significantly due to product configuration—remember that retailers buy from distributors in case units as well, and the concept of, say, a $500 case is probably almost as much a turn-off to them as it might be to you.

Hard to see, the future is. Especially in the Age of Lost Omens.

I think I'm already a Pathfinder Battles case subscriber (at least that's what my subscriber tags tell me). Does the exclusive gargantuan Rune Giant figure come automatically to case subscribers? I thought you had to order it separately, but gained a discount if you were a case subscriber?

I just tried adding the Rune Giant figure to my cart, and was told "You must purchase this product to complete this order: Pathfinder Battles: Rise of the Runelords Standard Booster Case". But I don't want to pre-order another case if I'm already subscribed?

I guess after reading the FAQs, I'm still confused what I need to do to ensure I receive one case of each product, as well as the bonus exclusive figures?

Thanks :-)

Check your "my subscriptions" page. You can manually set how many cases and how many premiums you'll receive. If you choose 1 case and 1 premium you'll get a standard case, a huge case and a rune giant at 75% off.

Ahah, all making sense now! When I saw this before, I wasn't sure if I had to do anyting to activate it? If it already says Send me [1] case and [1] premium* each release, then I just leave it as is, and warehouse slips take care of the rest!

I just noticed that the RotRL Singles are now available, but I don't seem to be getting the 20% discount from this subscription. Only my Pathfinder Advantage 15%.

(I know, boo hoo, I'd be paying just a couple extra bucks, but every little bit counts, y'know? 8^)

Have y'all considered adding a payment plan/layaway option for the PF Battles subscription?

In a way, we already have one, actually. Just set your subscriptions to use your store credit, then buy yourself Paizo Gift Certificates in manageable amounts on a regular basis. When we announce that we are getting ready to create the orders for the next Battles release, redeem all of the gift certificates.

We try to make sure that Battles subscribers know about upcoming shipments as soon as possible for this very reason.

Thanks,
cos

Is there any way to compare what shipping individually would be compared to adding shipping when combined with an existing subscription?

Paizo Employee Customer Service Manager

Our system gives the best estimate possible on your My Subscription page but this is dependent on a lot of different factors. We can't know for sure what combined subscription costs are going to be until the order is spawned in the system and you get your email confirmation notifying you the order has been prepared.

Thanks Sarah!

One follow-up - when I put it in my sidecart, there's an "Estimated Shipping including items in your cart" before I actually complete the transaction. If I'm not mistaken, there's a "We pay the first $10 on shipping of a purchase that's more than $100" discount that Paizo offers on purchase; am I correct in assuming that this discount is not included in the estimated shipping amount?

Assistant Software Developer

Feegle, that's correct.

I'm considering a subscription starting with Shattered Star...but has there been any mention on what the set will be after Shattered Star?

Not yet, but I believe we should learn more this Friday in the miniatures preview blog post.

Oooo...something to look forward too!

Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber

I know this has been discussed a number of times, and I am new to minis so I never really knew. Harder plastic vs. softer plastic: I just recently noticed that the sword on both my "Rune Giants" is starting to bend from their own weight, being that they are standing up. I not complaining, I can easily put them away, but I do like to display them. Just a heads up if anyone else has had similar situations, and to Paizo so you know. It's actually not a serious problem.

I'm considering subscribing and I just want to make sure I understand the pricing correctly (yes, I have read the FAQ). If I subscribe to the Adventure Paths and get Pathfinder Advantage, I will receive 15% off of the list price. I'm assuming the list price is $399.99, correct? If yes, I will be paying ~$340.00 for the case, then ~$10.00 for the premium and then whatever shipping is. I just want to make sure, because I added the items to my cart and the case price does not yet reflect the Pathfinder Advantage discount from that subscription I am adding as well. If I sign up for both at the same time (subscribe to the adventure paths the same month the case is set to release), will there be any timing issues with discounts?

Grand Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Maps, Roleplaying Game Subscriber

If I remember correctly it will take a month (at least one shipment of one of the AP books) to get the AP advantage discount. I can not speak for whether or not you will get the 15% off for the battlecase subscriber but I believe you will be.

Right now it shows you not being subscribed to anything at the moment.

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to remember that the minis "list price" is the crossed out $511.68 and that paizo already offer them at a discount - namely $400. As such, being an AP subscriber won't affect the price (since discounts don't stack and you're already getting more than 15% off the list price).

Right? That's basically my question. The reason I'm confused is because they clarify that you will not get 15% off of the premiums, because they are already 75% off. However, in the FAQ they say that you will receive the Pathfinder Advantage discount if you have that subscription, making me believe the list price on the case may be 399.99. Why say the Pathfinder Advantage discount applies if the case is already discounted beyond 15%?

Paizo Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Deluxe Comics Subscriber

Maybe it wont always be discounted more than 15% - the cases have so far varied in price somewhat and I seem to remember Vic posting a comment suggesting that the pricing on the website for these minis is a little different than for most products.

I'm afraid I cant give you a definitive answer as to the ins and outs. I can tell you that as a subscriber to both lines, my Shattered Star cases cost me $400 each and the Premium was $10.

I've looked a little further back. Note that the Heroes and Monsters cases arent 'automatically' discounted - the list price for those is $275. As such, the pathfinder advantage applies (I can order one for $233.75).

I'm more confident now that the list price for these later cases (ShSt, Sk&Sh) is $511.68 and that Paizo are selling them below "list price". Similarly, RotRL's list price was $661.62 and is also sold below that as a matter of course. That's why the PF advantage isnt having any effect - there's a better discount on offer for you.

The pricing has bounced around a little, so it may well depend on the specific set in question as to whether the PF advantage applies.

Having said that, the answer to your question about timing is more straightforward - you get the PF Advantage if you have an active subscription. An active subscription is one where you have received the most recent AP instalment or are receiving it with the current shipment. (It just wont reduce the price any further when it comes to a Skulls and Shackles case).

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Steve is correct above. I've adjusted the FAQ to clarify about how the Pathfinder Advantage doesn't stack.
