I had some problems with the publisher at the time and decided to move my IP to Rite Publishing. (I, being, Michael K. Tumey)

While both publications were based on the same outline I created, Jonathan McAnulty completely rewrote this release from the ground up, moving some things around, and subsequently wrote the next two parts of the full trilogy. The 3 adventures are more coherent and cognizant of the other.

Technically speaking both versions start and end at the same place in the storyline. However the most recent version - The Gift, Curse of the Golden Spear: Part 1 is more in-line with Pathfinder rules, as the first version was created while Pathfinder was stll in Beta. Also a major event in the current version was not included in the original, however, it has ramifications in adventures 2 and 3, Dim Spirit and Dark Path.

I apologize if you feel you must purchase the same adventure twice, but really this version in the Paizo store is the most updated (and better written of the two.)
I published Part 1: Gaijin the Gift back in 2009, under a different publisher, with a different author, and a slightly different storyline. One thing that would be really useful to me as a purchaser would for there to be an easy way to find out which of your products have HL support. At the moment, it's a bit of a trawl/detective work to check through your products. So if you had a simple list on your website of the HL-support products, that would 'sell' me - and I could check back on it from time to time.

As a bit of consumer feedback; "1001 spells" is the first spell supplement I've bought for Pathfinder, and I got it mainly because it has HL support. I use HL for all my PF games, and having to enter extra stuff in is a real chore.
Rite Publishing wrote:We don't make comments on our Hero Lab plans because we cannot give release dates for them, this is due to the fine folks working on this doing so during their downtime.
