In the sleepy coastal town of Sandpoint, evil is brewing. An attack by crazed goblins reveals
the shadows of a forgotten past returning to threaten the town—and perhaps all of Varisia.
The Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path begins with this goblin raid and takes players on
an epic journey through the land of Varisia as they track a cult of serial killers, fight
backwoods ogres, stop an advancing army of stone giants, delve into
ancient dungeons, and finally face off against a wizard-king in his
ancient mountaintop city. This hardcover compilation updates
the fan-favorite campaign to the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game
rules with revised and new content in more than 400 pages
packed with mayhem, excitement, and adventure!
Celebrating both the fifth anniversary of the Pathfinder
Adventure Path and the tenth anniversary of Paizo Publishing, this new
edition expands the original campaign with new options and
refined encounters throughout, incorporating 5 years of
community feedback.
The Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition contains:
All six chapters of the original Adventure Path, expanded
and updated for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.
Articles on the major locations of Rise of the Runelords:

Xin-Shalast, and others.
Revelations on the sinister magic of Thassilon, with

points throughout the campaign.

FAQ:
Q: Will you be doing hardcover compilations of all of your Adventure Paths? A: No. This is a special celebration of our very first Adventure Path on its 5th Anniversary. Several of the original volumes of Rise of the Runelords have been unavailable in print for a long time, yet it remains one of our most popular adventure paths; that circumstance presents a unique opportunity for us to expand and update it for use with the Pathfinder RPG, and to apply lessons we've learned about making Adventure Paths over the last half-decade. Our other adventure paths are largely still in print, and many of them were designed for use with the Pathfinder RPG to begin with; we have no plans to recompile them.
Q: Is there anything missing from the original AP volumes? A: Yes—otherwise, this book would be more than 600 pages long! Some of the monsters and other things created for Rise of the Runelords are now part of the official Pathfinder RPG rules, so they're not reprinted here. The original volumes also included monster ecologies, bestiary entries, and other campaign setting material that isn't directly used in the adventure itself; those items are also not present in this collection. The Pathfinder Journal fiction featuring Eando Kline is not presented here either, but it has been compiled—along with the installments from the subsequent two Adventure Paths—as The Compass Stone, now available in ePub form. We have also replaced some of the artwork from the previous edition, and replaced the six individual introductions with one new one.
Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition is sanctioned for use in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. The rules and Chronicle sheets for running this Adventure Path are available as a free download (438 KB zip/PDF).

If you mean which subscription then none. If you preorder the book though they are giving people the PDF as if it was in a subscription. I don't know if you have to have a AP subscription for that to count or not.

If this has already been asked, my apologies for repeating a question. 700 messages is a lot to wade through.
I am wondering about the viability of the Map Folio for the original Rise of the Runelords. Will it still be compatible with this product? Or will the maps have changed sufficiently that using them would be problematic? Or somewhere in between?
Having only starting playing Pathfinder about a year ago, I've been looking forward to running Runelords "someday". With this new version coming out, it would be nice to know if the support products for the original will still be usable.
Honestly, the original Folio isn't really much useful apart for 2 maps - map of Varisia (which ever since got reprinted several times) and a poster map of Sandpoint. The other maps are just reprints of maps from the books themselves and are neither useful as player handouts (since thay have all secrets and lables...) nor as battlemats (too small).
Yet for those who don't have the pdf, the maps can be used to play through certain parts of the adventure without constantly flipping pages. Granted, I like the newer Map Folios better, but this use was enough for me never to regret purchasing the map packs.
Considering all of the original adventure pdfs are still going for 13.99, I think the chances of getting this pdf for $10 is pretty low. This is a huge amount of content and they did A LOT of work to pathfinderize it. I would be shocked; $10 would be giving it away.

Every hardcover splatbook that's 100% original content sells for 10 bucks, and what better entry drug for APs if not the most famous and popular one?
Of course it's possible that I'll get to eat crow next week, but I'm pining for a modest pricing very hard.
So the book is like $60 right? This isn't a rulebook which is where Paizo gives an insane discount on PDFs for $10. I'll be amazed if the PDF is under $35. More likely $40 for everything you are getting.

The Inner Sea World Guide isn't a rulebook, and it's PDF is $10 as well.

Most of the maps still work just fine, but there have been a number of changes that have made a couple of the maps obsolete. Off the top of my head, I would say that 80% are still the same as they were in the original book. Maybe even 85%. The big maps of Varisia and Sandpoint are the same.
Also, I have a feeling people who do purchase/receive the PDF will be most satisfied with its contents :)
Not necessarily. Maybe people who purchase the PDF will receive a free kitten.
Oh, absolutely. I thought that was implied. However, that fact that she said "contents," makes it sound like we might be happy with multiple items that are included. :-)

If you want multiple kittens I'm sure I could put you in touch with a local adoption agency who would be only too happy to help you out ...
@srd5090, If you are going to PaizoCon you might think of asking to pick your copy up there. That way you would be sure to have it available for signing. Hopefully one of the staff will either confirm or deny my suggestion.

The option to mark your July subscriptions (and this book) as pick up at PaizoCon IS currently available. It's on your subscriptions page. I'd go there and select that option if you want to make sure to have it available at the con...
Hmm I've selected the option to pick up subscriptions at PaizoCon, but since this book isn't part of a subscription I don't think it's not pick-up-able.
Subscribers who have preordered the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition hardcover and opted to ship it with their subscriptions will also be able to pick up that book at the show.

Awesome! I also noticed my Rise of the Runelords pre-order was moved into my sidecart so it can be picked up. I know I didn't think to do that, so someone did. THANK YOU.
This is the kind of stuff that keeps me sending my money to you guys.

There's also a one-page map of Magnimar; how will that compare to the Magnimar book due out next month?
To answer some long awaited questions: yes, this will have interactive maps. The interactive map file is 30 pages long, contains 44 different maps and is super shiny. There are a few features we've added to the PDF, and a Lite version has been made.
Will there be a combo pack available for the Hardcover and PDF outside of being a AP subscriber? I wouldn't mind some of the PDF features that you noted, but paying an extra $40 on top the pre-order I made for the hardcover seems a bit excessive.
