Kix manages to drop #4 but splashes Nycar and Zephyr, with the help from Beatrice, who then manages to trip one of the foes on Seif
#1 charges Kix, but provokes an AOO from Beatrice 1d20 ⇒ 3 who misses
It attacks Kix 1d20 ⇒ 10 and it hits dealing 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 and a DC 14 fort or paralyzed
Seif watches in horror as the ghost on the ground attempts to bite out his throat going to give him a minus on damage because he was tripped
2d6 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 - 4 = 7 make a DC 17 fort or you are dead
Go Heroes
Kixzik |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Kixzik will take a five foot step back and toss another flask at 1.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Kixzik |
Those have already been removed. Otherwise, I would have a +18 Fort save ;-)
Dang paladins.
MiniGM |
looks like you forgot sickened damage minus and I can't figure out how your INT is higher than 16 without any magic so you really do 7 damage as near as I can figure
Beatrice attacks the one trying to eat Seif
2d20 ⇒ (17, 8) = 25 she hits twice and as a result removes the head of the ghast nuts.
The Ghast pursuing Kix burns a bit 1d6 ⇒ 1 and then attacks Kix viciously
3d20 ⇒ (4, 16, 11) = 31 and it hits twice dealing 1d6 + 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + (2) + 6 = 9 and I need two Fort saves of 14
Go Kix and Zephyr who is no longer paralyzed
Kixzik |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Fortitude: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Kixzik will drop five feet back again and toss another flask at the pursuing ghast.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
"Yeah, got that," Seif-al-Din quips dryly. "Unfortunately, they were rather insistent on touching us."
He then sighs.
"Come on - let's keep moving, just in case there are more of them."
Seif-al-Din then continues to hurry towards the spire.
MiniGM |
The good news is, it is not long before you get to the spire and you find that there are actually stairs moving around the outside.
I am going to make the assumption that you go up, checking for traps. After everyone gets about a third of the way up everyone finds their magical powers coming back online.
make notation of your healing please. If you need me to mark it I can do so. If you use wands you are welcome to take averages
Kixzik |
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (20) + 18 = 38
Most unpleasant. Is there anything I can do for any of you?
He sighs as the magical healing washes over him.
Many thanks. Not exactly self-perfection but welcome nonetheless.
Kixzik |
That is...most disturbing.
Does anyone else notice that spider web looks like my sid-er, friend Churley?
Kixzik will cautiously approach the spiderweb with bomb materials in hand.
MiniGM |
As our heroes continue on they discover a small cache of supplies
190 gp, 13 +3 undead bane
arrows, a scroll of disintegrate, a +2 mithral buckler, and a periapt
of wound closure
They also notice a strange gray crystal
of magic and antimagic that so powerfully infused the
area, and can be harvested by simply smashing away at
the underlying stone with any bludgeoning weapon as a
full-round action. Once harvested, these strange crystals
can be worked like iron. Any piercing or slashing weapon
crafted from the crystals is exceptionally sharp, and gains
a +2 enhancement bonus to damage done. A single crystal
is large enough to forge a single light Medium weapon.
Two are required for a one-handed weapon, while four
are required for a two-handed weapon. A weapon made
of this material penetrates DR/magic even if the weapon
itself is not magic. A single crystal is worth 4,000 gp to a
smith who recognizes its usefulness—Obviously a weapon formed out of it costs 4000 more
Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
Seif-al-Din groans.
"Isn't that always the way; you find something that would be perfect for dealing with a foe that you just faced down!"
He then pauses to regard the crystal.
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4.
Craft(Weapon): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12.
"Anyone have any idea what that is? It looks... odd."
Seif-al-Din then continues on the path, steadily trudging towards the summit.
I should probably take the arrows ;-) Who wants the other stuff?
Kixzik |
Appraise: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
Good heavens. That's a fusion crystal that forms as a result of the combination of magic and antimagic that so powerfully infuse the
area! They're worth 4,000 gp a piece.
Kixzik will break the crystal loose and bag it.
He'll get much closer to the web to see if the spiderweb is somehow Churley's soul.
Kixzik |
Can I cut the spiderweb down and keep it?
What I wouldn't give to show a picture of this to someone! Hmmm...from my own experiments I know that there is a way to make silver solutions sensitive to light, through the application of an exposure to the alchemical compound I've derived from the salts created from leftover leather scraps from that tannery in Oppara...
Kixzik will start scribbling away at a notebook, almost feverish in the exultation of discovery.
YES! By application of alchemical principles I will create a small box that will funnel light to a plate that will then leave an image that can be printed on fine parchment! I will call this device an Synthetical Visualization Chamber!
Kixzik |
A skill I do not have. Is the DC higher than 10?
Kixzik |
Craft (Alchemy): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39
MiniGM |
2d4 - 1 ⇒ (1, 2) - 1 = 2 more crystals are found on the way to the top of the spire, at the top the entire island can be seen, and more importantly there is a long rope bridge, that sways precariously that crosses to what looks like an active volacno, with a tunnel going into it at the other and of the bridge
Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
Seif-al-Din collects the crystals as he goes. When he reaches the top, and sees the bridge, he eyes it dubiously, and then sighs.
"Well, it looks like there is no other way..."
Gingerly, he carefully begins to cross it.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18.
MiniGM |
Self leads the way, there are many rumbles from the other side, but it would seem, that though it sways that the bridge is stable. He reaches the other side and the rest follow.
They move through the tunnels and the heat increases
If you do not have fire resistance make me a DC 15 fort save or take 1d4 ⇒ 3 non lethal -4 to the save if you are wearing medium or higher armor
Seif-al-Din ibn-Subhi |
Seif-al-Din pulls out a crowbar (to at least partially shield him from the gates, and to aid in opening them!), and attempts to force the gates open.
Strength: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 16.
Strength: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20.
Let me know if I need to keep rolling - if I need a 25 rather than a 15 or 20, I can't make it ;-)
Zephyr Jeggare |
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Familiar Fort: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13
Zephyr manages to bear the heat but her tiny companion sags under it. She chants a spell to give him relief.
Lesser Restoration to remove his fatigue.
"Shouldn't Kix check it for traps first?" she suggests before scanning the doors for magical auras.
Detecting magic.
Kixzik |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Sigh.
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Kixzik |
Ahem, Zephyr do you have any frost spells prepared this morning?
