Runewars: Banners of War is an expansion for Runewars, the epic game of conquest, adventure, and fantasy empires. The expansion, which is set in the vibrant realm of Terrinoth, allows players to take fate into their own hands by adding new units to their armies, conscripting new heroes to lead them, and utilizing new tactics against their opponents.
Banners of War provides eight new unit types (two for each faction), which allows players to customize their armies like never before. New “Development” cards allow players to upgrade their existing units and purchase new faction-specific abilities, while the “Commanders of the Battlefield” variant allows for the bravest and boldest heroes to lead their units to victory.
Designed by Corey Konieczka, who designed the original Runewars, a Golden Geek “Thematic Board Game of the Year” nominee in 2010, Runewars: Banners of War includes over 50 plastic figures, over 100 new cards, and nearly 100 tokens. Plus the expansion also provides new variant rules, and adds new tactics, season, order, hero, and objective cards to spice up gameplay.
