Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

Perhaps he'll tell you where you can discover soap Trundle, hrmm? Shyvanna says with a sardonic grin, an attempt at humor that she doesn't realize might be a bit insulting

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

Opening the tent flap to the fortune tellers tent and following in trundle

Greetings!

Trundle, Shyvana and anyone joining them:
Within the stuffy, cluttered tent is a table covered in blue velvet stitched with moons, stars, and arcane symbols. A dusty crystal ball and a dog-eared harrow deck sit upon it. Behind this table sits an aged, bald man with threadbare purple robes and piercing eyes. He gestures broadly as you enter and states in a tremulous voice, "The Amazing Rise sees all and knows all. A double fist of silver for a turn of the cards or a vision in the crystal; a treble fist of gold for the secrets of the multiverse."

He looks worn and figity but friendly enough.

Kayle, Ezreal looks like you went to the guards un-hindered. Post your actions please.

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

Walking to the guard house, Ezreal didnt stop talking for even a moment, running his mouth to Kayle. It was small talk mostly, about his favorite adventures and where he was from from. Approactiong their destination he finally relented.

...So thats Piltover in a nutshell really. Ah, here we are.

Striding towards the two guards he announced his presence to them.

Wonderful day we are having isnt it gentlemen? I was wondering if you might have a detailed map of the city me and my companion could look at? We are new here you see...

Then he continued, this time in a whisper to the two men.

Official League business, just play along and show us inside please.

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

Kayle smiles as the smaller man chatters away. It was nice to have someone commence in the small talk from time to time. It had happened so rarely in the years of training that his own skills with it were almost minimal.

Aware that his armour was more than likely to attract attention, he was glad that they hadn't gone to the fortune tellers. He would not have helped anyone in a place where the inhabitants tended to prey upon the weakest and gullible of society, when subtlety appeared to be the name of the game. At least with other people who were armed and armoured he stood a chance of blending in.

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Tossing a few gold pieces on the table, Trundle gets right to the point and asks "We need to find someone named Natalya."

Kayle & Ezreal:
"Good afternoon. I am afraid you have caught us at a busy time. No one will be able to see you for at least 1d4 ⇒ 1 hours. you have caught us at a busy time. Maps can be gotten at the market."

Trundle, Shyvana:
A few, how much? do you have gold left from character creation?

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

That's fine. We can wait. Would it be possible to ask for a jug of water or wine whilst we wait? It's pretty warm in this armour after all eh. Kayle gives the impression that he is more than willing to wait, simply because he is actually willing to wait. If the woman was already dead then there was no rush, and without knowing where she was, there was no rush as such beyond what they forced themselves into.

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

Ezreal frowned a bit at the two guards. Cant even make time for the League. Then he shrugged and looked at Kayle.

I guess I can wait an hour, although I hate to just sit around. Lets tour the market while we wait?

He started walking down the street, then he turned around with an excited look on his face.

Hey, with all this time on our hands, I cant tell you about that one time with the cave-in, oooooh and the time I got lost, oh thats a good one.

He turned to walk again, his mouth in constant motion.

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

3 gold, had 40 gp left over from character creatation.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

I haven't spent any gold yet for character creation, just in starting outfit
as to the metagaming bit...

Quote:

Washers' Row is a tangle of open-air washhouses, launderers, and wagons and tents-while the bulk of those who live and toil here do so in the laundry and tailoring industries, there are some who practice other trades, such as Rise.

That with the carnival bit, I just kind of assumed it was a fortune tellers tent, that's the cliche no? even booths tended to be tents with an open face to display wares. I was assuming it was a tent, and even if it wasn't we'd "be in a tent" for the sake of assumption.

Shyvana, Trundle:
Rise looks at the gold and takes it. "Natalya is a common name...Sir. Why come to a fortune teller? IS she your betrothed, do you need a reading?" he speaks quickly and with practiced flourishes of his arms, sleeves and cards.

Kayle and Ezreal:
the guards turn to Kayle, "We are not a tavern. There are many good watering holes in the area and the will look after a thirsty traveler. A message will be sent to our head to expect you both back later"

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Trundle stops himself from laughing and says "...Yeah, sure let's go with that. The wedding is next month, mark your calender. Unfortunately she has disappeared so we need to find her or its gonna be a very awkward. Her names Natalya Yancaskerkin, she hangs with the Sczarni." not actually expecting this guy to believe a word he just said.

Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

Overhearing Kayles request and the subsequent rebuttal, Ezreal turned and called to Kayle.

Man, you sure like to drink dont you big fella? Cmon ill show you to a tavern, I think I see one down the street.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

looks towards the crystal ball and tarot deck

Perhaps you can divine our purpose in coming, we have gold and names, we seek some information and were told you can probably provide it. We may even seek a telling when we're done with our real business

She places 50 silver pieces on top of trundles Gold

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

It does two things. Loosens tongues, and passes the time. In the training academies we were taught about the dangers of drink and therefore drink in moderation if the substance is alcoholic. On the other hand, this armour is pretty warm, even on the coolest of days, hence drinking often to make sure I am useful. Kayle smiles, those training days felt like they were a million years ago already.

A tavern sounds good, at the very least we can sit down and talk.

Trundle & Shyvana:
Rise sits back in his creaking chair. "Sczarni you say... Aaaah... Secrets! Perhaps my greatest trade! 50gp gets you that particular secret." He will not touch the money on the table. He looks pleased and comfortable.

Kayle & Ezreal:
You enter the Fumble arms. A decent looking tavern. Bright enough on the inside and clean. A barmaid greats you from the bar as you enter. "What will it be boys?". No one pays you any mind but her. There are three men playing cards in the back and a few people dotted about drinking.

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

Ezreal bows before the barmaid with a flurrish of his gauntleted hand.

Nothing for me thank you, im just following along, but my friends here would like...

He looks up at Kayle

...Wine was it?

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

Wine, and as ever, information. Gossip, hearsay and rumour. What has been happening in the area, and where would the best people to avoid be? Kayle grins, he was trying to lighten up a little.

Ezreal & Kayle:
"Well wine I can do. As for gossip maybe. I hear a lot of it, I would need the subject narrowed down somewhat. For two handsome gentleman such as yourselves, well I guess I could help. For a price. The tall dark haired woman who's curves where made all the more obvious by her clothing.

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

GM:

Kayle will smile. She seems interesting, now not to mess this up

We are looking for information about a friend of ours who has gone missing basically. We would like to find her and the people associated with her disappearance. I can happily pay for any information that you might have, or any rumours. Pay richly. Kayle will reach into a leather pouch as his side, and withdraw 20 thick gold coins before placing them in 4 columns before the barmaid.

Of course, there will be more if the information that you give me turns out to be correct and helps me find what I am looking for. Much more. I am sure that a beautiful woman such as yourself would hear much from the clientèle from such a place as this that might help. Those to imbibe liquor tend to have loose tongues after all.

Diplomacy check if needed 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

looks irritated at the steep price

A good sword can often fetch that price, I've heard many a "secret" was valuable, but upon utterance was worth barely more than the cup of win that probably spawned it. Perhaps you could come down on your price?

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 = Diplomacy

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

"I think the lady makes a good point." Trundle remarks as he get uncomfortably close to the fortune teller...

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Shyvana & Trundle:
"50gp. I have information you need, you have nothing I need but...money." He looks cocky but now a little unsure of his circumstance. Both roles where low, in Shyvana's case her words have helped a bit and in trundles case his actions, So I have taken it that the diplomacy has not been good enough for him to lower his price but combines with the intimidate he is now wary of what you both may do, but not scared or intimidated.

Kayle & Ezreal:
"Keep your money friend. I have a patron upstairs who needs to leave and pay his bill and bar tab. He has refused to do either and has scared most of my staff. If you two can get him to leave and pay up, Ill share what I know."

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

GM:
But of course. Would you please show me to the room. I am sure I can make this man see sense. Kayle will stand and for a moment contemplate taking the greatsword off his back. No sense in drawing a weapon I don't intend to use. Looks silly. Lets use our words eh Kayle? The voices of his tutors ring through his head for a moment and thus he puts the sword out of his mind for the moment. Lead the way he states simply.

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

GM:
Ezreal nods in agreeance.

Cant have thugs trying to live by their own rules. Just wait till he gets a load of me, he will be shaking in his boots!

Ezreal & Kayle:
"Thank you,, please try not to damage the Inn. the quieter this can be done the better." She shows you to the room and leaves quickly adding before she disappears downstairs. "Be careful boys."

You are looking on an a fairly well decorated room, a sturdy looking bed. Which considering its content, its sturdiness was an asset. What can only be described as a snoring mountain of a man is laid over the bed. The room strewn with various clothing and empty tankards.

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

GM:
I think I know who it is :P

Ezreal wrinkled his nose at the smell of the room. Not quite as foul as Trundle, but potent none the less. He looked at Kayle.

Judging by all the tankards in here, we got ourselves a drunkard on our hands. Maybe we should invite him downstairs for a pint, then bring up the matter once we are there?

He marched over to the giant man, lightly pressing a finger into his side. It got no responce.

Well, ill let you decide what to do, you are the talker, like Shyvana said. Just dont think on it for too long.

He grinned a devilish smile at Kayle, before poking the sleeping oaf with such force, his hand nearly dissapeared into the mans side.

Hey, you big oaf, get up!

Then he ran past Kayle, out of the room, standing at the doorway and peering inside.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

finishes paying 50 gold total

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Trundle grumbles and tosses another 25 gp towards the 50 gp they need.

Trundle & Shyvana:
Rise takes the money. Only 50GP of it. If there is more he leaves it on the table."Good, good. Sit and talk a while with me." He leans forward and continues to talk. "Natalya Vancaskerkin.... she hasn't been heard from among the Sczarni. Many folk along the waterfront, both here in Beacon's Point and over in Dockway and Underbridge, have been disappearing of late-a few each week, in fact, with many simply vanishing out of their very beds at night. I suspect that Natalya is among those who have disappeared"

His face turns bitter as he continues. "as long as only poor Varisians and other destitute folk are being targeted, the chances of the city doing anything about the disappearances is nil."

"theory is that the vanished folk are the victims of slavers who then secretly sell them offshore at night to Nidalese ships-but I don't put much stock in such rumors."

Kayle & Ezreal:
The man wakes up and slowly and heavily curls to a stand. Mountain may have been an understatement. A big wall of a man walks forward. You swear you can feel the ground shake. "Which one of you woke me up?" He says as he swaggers over to you both.

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

That would be I. The tavern would like you to settle your bill and leave this place, taking yourself and your equipment with it. Apparently you have been intimidating their staff and they no longer wish to serve you. I have been asked to come along and help in this process. If you would be so kind of point out your bags, I will help you take them downstairs and then we can settle your bill. Kayle does everything he can to come across as reasonable and diplomatic in the situation, no weapons drawn and with a smile upon his face.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

pauses to take it in and then says

Do you know where she was last seen? Any places she frequented? And the varisians have always been outcast vagabonds who will play the martyr at the drop of a hat. I won't argue that they are treated poorly, it's what you humans do best to each other. I can feel your pain though, my own kind have fairly well outcast me as well. I will try and look into the disappearances and see if the League can do anything to help, perhaps Trundle and I will take care of some of these issues ourselves.

looks to trundle with a raised eyebrow and a mischievous smile, Shyvana clearly is looking forward towards a good fight

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Trundle is busy scratching himself, but once he realizes what Shyvana is saying he stops and says "Oh, sure. Point me in the right direction and I'll club those slavers into dust. Hehe."

Ezreal & Kayle:
"Pfft! if the petty members of this tavern are to chicken to deal with me themselves. What if I say no, little man." He stumbles forward and leans into you as he speaks. He makes no threatening actions just words.

Shyvana & Trundle:
Rise turns to Shyvana. "Look around you young'n. You are in the place where outcasts come to be... casts." His words may be mixed up but his meaning is clear. "We are all unwanted somewhere, but here, here we are family. When we hurt, who cares but us. When you are hurt, who cares but.." Looking to Trundle to see his reaction.

"Natalaya's activities aren't known to me, she was until recently, a member of a Sczarni gang known as the Tower Girls, a group of cat burglars. They are themselves searching for Natalya, and word is that when they find her, she'll be in deep trouble. I don't know exactly what is going on with them but I've heard them say that Natalya went mad before her disappearance." He repeats his information to ensure he hasn't missed anything. the man may charge for what he knows, but when paid he doesn't hold back. He is a man of little principle but what he has he holds to. "Last I heard the Sczarni where down by the docks. A fellow named Fenster the Blight was sharing his warehouse with them. That's your lot."

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

Well then if you won't come quietly, then fair enough. I guess in that case I have no option but to buy you a drink downstairs. I don't have a quarrel with you, and don't really want to get the town guard involved. Like I say, the bar staff here asked me to give you a hand with your bags, and so I came up to do exactly that. I am nothing more than a porter really. What do you say buddy? Fancy a keg on me? Trying to sound reasonable and placate the guy. Kayle will not really want to be trying to start a fight here.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

For once, Ezreal is quiet, following the conversation with great interest, a barely contained smirk cresting the corners of his mouth.

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Trundle responds with a with nothing more then a displease look on his face. Once the fortune teller is done, Trundle says "Alright, let's go crash the Sczarni's little party." and heads for the exit.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

Nods

Let's find the others let them know what we've discovered, perhaps this Fenster fellow might know more. He sounds like your kind of company too Trundle

Kayle & Ezreal:
"I have no patience for tricks little man. I will share a keg, but if you try anything there will be more faces than yours that get it. "

Nice role playing and rolling. He is no longer angry and the mention of the work Keg cheered him up. But you are both still strangers and did mention that he was getting kicked out so he doesn't trust you completely.

Trundle & Shyvana:
Excellent work at Rise's you got all the info and the bonus XP for it. Ill update the Xp track when this part of the story is finished.

Are you both headed to find Kayle and Ezreal?

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

Kayle laughs heartily. Sir, I have a feeling that if you wanted to kill me, then you would be able to do so before I could so much as draw my sword. Why would I cause a fight where one is not needed? I promised you a keg, so please, let me buy you that much whilst we work out your arrangements eh? The man troubled him, and he wasn't used to acting in such a manner, he was trying to get the man out with the minimum of fuss.

Heading downstairs, he mouths to Ezreal tp Grab the bags as best you can, meet me in the bar before heading down. Gold coins jingling slightly in his belt pouches.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

yeah that's my intent

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

As Kayle left with his new "friend", Ezreal quickly tagged him with a Message spell. When they were far enough down the hall that his whisper couldnt be overheard by the large man he whispered.

Hey, you are the one with the muscles, im not some bell boy damn it! But yeah ill get right on it, blah.

Turning to the bags, he wondered how he was supposed to get something that weighed more than himself down the stairs.

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Yeah, getting the other two first.

Trundle & Shyvanna:
You leave the tent of Rise and make your way back through washer's row. The next streets seem much brighter by comparison.

You remember that Kayle and Ezreal had mentioned about going to the Arvensoar to speak to the City Watch. The tower itself was not hard to miss and finding your way there is easy.

The bright weather and smiles of those you pass make the walk all the more pleasant.

Ezreal & Kayle:
"Arrangements little man? I will be leaving when I feel my time is done." He sits in the bar and awaits the keg.

The barmaid throws you a confused and worried look as you enter the bar. "I asked you to get him to leave. Not invite him to get drunk. What is your plan here?"

Ezreal, you find it easy to find his stuff, as it is almost all on the floor. Moving the heaving bag is very difficult but you find creative ways of getting it downstairs.

Male Aasimaar Paladin/Cleric 1 (Gestalt)

Kayle speaks quietly to the barmaid. The offer of booze was the only way that the man would not be belligerent and I could get him out of the room and not have him destroy someone or something. I will buy the man the keg that I have promised him, and then see what I can do to move him out of the tavern altogether with his belongings. If needed, then I will use force. The man is a coward and a bully, and I know roughly how to deal with such men. I do not like the path of violence, but will not shy away from it if needs be. I gave you my word, and I intend to keep it.

To Ezreal:
Pack the belongings as best you can. Does not need to be particularly neat. Bring the bags downstairs.

Turning back to the man, he prepares for the task ahead.

Male Half-Orc Gestalt: Ranger(Freebooter)/Inquisitor 1

Trundle enters the tower and asks the first person he sees, "Hey were looking for a guy covered in gold armor, he was probably hanging out with a young human girl, have you seen them?"

Male Elf Ranger (Trapper/Infiltrator) 1 / Wizard 1

Trundle you bastard -.-

The sounds of the tavern are interupted as Ezreal can be heard howling in surprise at the top of the stair. Wha! aaaah, nonononoooo! The sound of something heavy falling down the stairs follows, punctuated by Ezreal crying out in pain. Aaah...uuh...iiih....aaah

A large bag of luggage comes crashing to a halt at the base of the stair, followed by Ezreal practically bouncing through the air before landing on top of it. Oblivious to the people in the bar room, he springs to his feet and kicks the bag repeatedly.

Take that! And that! And this! You stupid bag!

Trying his best to ignore the looks, he straightens his goggles and smooths down his jacket before walking up to stand next to Kayle, pouting and fuming.

Trunde & Shyvana:
The tow guards turn to you as you arrive. the younger looking of the guard tilts his head in thought as you ask about Kayle and 'the girl'. "Well there was a rather shiny gentleman in here a while ago, he had a guy with him though." HE turns to the older and higher ranked guard. Who replies, "They went to the tavern I think. The shiny one said he was thirsty. Up that road there, you can't miss it." He points down a main road away from the direction you just came in.

Kayle & Ezreal:
The bar maid attempts to reply to Kayle but is distracted by the banging on her stairs. Rolling her eyes and internally berating herself for asking these to get involved. Sighing she pours the drinks and simply replies. "please get him out."

The mountain of a man looks as his bag is flung down the stairs. A deep growl emanates form his mouth. It quickly turns int to roaring laugh when he see's Ezreal fall down after it. "Nice try little man, that bag as done damage to more people than I have." When he laughs he almost comes across as a reasonable man.

Male Tiefling Brawler Arcanist Gestalt

She nods a thanks and heads over towards the tavern mentioned
