Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Are these prepainted plastic miniatures included in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Beginner Box? A: The Beginner Box includes more than 80 full-color pawns, but it does not include any prepainted plastic miniatures. This set is a separate product designed to complement the Beginner Box or stand on its own.
Q: Are the miniatures in this set randomized? A: This is a fixed set containing the four miniatures listed above.
Q: Will this set be part of Paizo's Pathfinder Roleplaying Game subscription? A: This set is produced by WizKids under license from Paizo, and is not part of any Paizo subscription.
Q: How does this affect the Pathfinder Miniatures line from Reaper Miniatures? A: Reaper Miniatures has been producing unpainted metal Pathfinder Miniatures since Fall 2009, and they will continue to do so.
Q: Do these miniatures use Reaper's sculpts? A: These miniatures use all-new sculpts by WizKids.
We'll be revealing pics of all four figures at the banquet at PaizoCon on Saturday, and will add an image to this product after that.
Will those be production pics?
Though I was told (by Lisa if I recall correctly, who heard it from WizKids - it was in the big thread about the figures) that the new green lantern set is a good indicator of the quality we can expect, more definite is always better.
Because that Kyra model looks almost too good to be true. I think it has Underdark beat, and that was the Golden Age of DDM.

Way too early for that! These will be prototypes, exactly the same as the Kyra image that many of you have already seen.

These 4 minis will have some of the most complicated paint operations and textures that WizKids has ever done.
Pre-ordered. My money where my mouth is, as soon as made possible.
Hopefully Paizo will get a boat-load of pre-order commitments, signaling heavy interest, prompting further sets... ASAP.
My compliments to both companies for giving this a try.
Normally, we don't push preorders very hard, but this is a case where preorders really would be very helpful—especially ones that come in before WizKids sets the size of the run.
So... why? That's $3.25 per mini, less than what you'd pay for an unpainted mini.
Just curious.
Probably just comparing them to the random lot booster box prices of DDM.
I don't have an issue with the price - I don't mind paying a few bucks for quality, non-random pre-painted minis. I have bought every single pre-painted Legendary Encounters mini so I will buy these just as extras for my players.
DM rant:
My problem (and it may just be my problem) is that as a DM I need other minis, monster minis. Lots of sets of pre-painted monsters.
More than what Reaper currently offers - and I'd like a subscription please (bi-monthly would be fine).
Lets get some sets going and do the thing that the other company refused to try due to the promotion of their rare/uncommon/common scheme. Sets, fixed sets.
I don't want Druid shadowstriker cybertrolls, I just want trolls - maybe swamp trolls, mountain trolls, etc, but lay off the template promotions.
8 minis - a fixed set of pre-painted minatures at $26 (or more, or less) as a sub, or even special order would be nice.
I want sets of: orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, troll, skeleton warriors, dungeon vermin, devils & demons...and special dragon sets. From Paizo. That's my problem.

If they are as good as I expect I will preorder once the images get posted.
Tell me about The bases. Smooth? Textured? Double rotating discs like Mage Knight?
In the other thread, we were told that they will be smooth, round, 1" bases with no clicky business. Have you gone to the Wizkids site and seen the picture?
Compare to those D&D heroes packages. 3 minis for 11 bucks. That's 3.25 vs 3.67 bucks per figure. And those D&D figures looked like crap.
Sure DDM was a lot cheaper, but that was random. And long ago. And apparently, they couldn't keep up the pricing scheme OR the quality, because the stuff became more and more expensive while the quality kept dropping.
From what I've seen, the quality of these figures will be a lot better than that.
It's less expensive then Legendary Encounters, too.
High-quality, non-random miniatures for less than two bucks each just won't happen. Sad but true.
I personally am looking forward to these minis! I was sold at the mention of Pre-Painted! Also plastic can be more durable if a cat jumps up on the game table, no bending swords back to shape, which sadly has happened more than once. I know my cat was a gamer in another life. But mini's of our favorite Iconics?
All I can say is, where do I sign!
Here's hoping the rest of the Iconics get added soon.
Maybe a mounted and on foot version of Alain!
Can't wait for the release, thank you Paizo & WizKids!

Actually, it's a lot MORE than what *I'd* pay for an unpainted mini.
(I don't buy them. ;) )
I would have liked more in the package than 4 PCs. If it had to be only 4, I'd like a $9.99 price point better. Of course, I don't need any more prepainted PC minis, so part of my issue is that I'm already saturated with them from DDM.
There's also the fact that I can go to Auggies right now and get plenty of prepainted plastic PC types for under $2/mini.
Now, as I said above, if the final product ends up being superior to DDM, then I may pay $12.99, but until folks get them in their hands and confirm this is the case, the price seems high to me.
Reaper has metal mins of the same characters. They are unpainted and many times require some assembly. I you were to buy the same 4 character mins from reaper here at PIZO you would pay $22.01 pulse Shipping and handling. So for nearly %50 less you get the same four mins (in different poses) that are assembled and painted. The only difference is the more expensive unpainted ones are metal and the cheaper painted ones are plastic.

do you know which month GTM this will be in to preorder from Alliance so that I preorder as soon as possible?
I'm in the same boat. I'd love some non-random monster sets. A mix of hero's like these, in fixed packs, are also cool. I'll be buying or preordering from my FLGS.
Thanks to all parties who are contributing to putting this set out there!
I will pre-order to support Paizo, they're doing a really good job and keeping me happy (and prices low).
Just a few things...
I know its a Wizkids collaboration, but like Auxmaulous stated in the thread above we need static Creature Packs: something like 2-10 minis per set: Something like 10 for small sized creatures, 8 for medium, 4 for large, 2-3 for huge, 1-2 Gargantuan/colossal. No set should cost more than $19.99 to keep it affordable.
I'd like to the following:
Goblins of Golarion pack
Orc Battlegroup
Dwarven Clans
Elven Guardians
Giant Pack
Class Packs (Mages of Golarion, Clerics of ..)
Undead Legions
Cityfolk Assortment
Familiars & Mundane Animals
Fiends of the Nether Planes
Contructs of Golarion
Elementals
Iconics of Golarion
Region Packs (i.e. Imperials of Cheliax, Technics of Numeria, Followers of Razmiran0
This could also be used into supporting AP's (Horrors of Ustalav, Jade Empire Vanguard, etc)
Setting this up as a monthly subscription would not only get a steady stream of subscribers that would keep the mini line viable, but also would allow input as to what the community(customers) would like to see.
The full price is a little too much for me personally given the types of characters included. I'm not interested in the specific iconics (I'm sure there are collectors out there that are), to me they are just human wizard/cleric/fighter and elf rogue. I've got quite a few miniatures that could fill those roles at the moment so $3.25 a miniature just isn't too enticing for me at this time.
I'll patiently wait till these hit the secondary market. If some of them get less popular (and therefore cheaper individually) and look interesting I'll probably pick them, especially if they end up $2 or less. Sadly, the only one I'm the most interested in is the cleric and I imagine that is going to be the one that is the most popular and thus not get down to that $2 level I have.
But we'll see, it probably won't be until December before I see where the prices start to level out at for individuals.
I ordered, I'll have to organize my mini bucket to keep these apart from my old DDM ones. I would love to see sets of monsters but since I don't know anything about the market I'll just say I'll be buying more as long as the quality and price are right.

I think everyone would. Except maybe Wizkids. :P

Note that if we compare that to a comparable DDM product, the price is already better. Those three-packs of rehashed sculpts with paint jobs that were worse than the original ones.
Whether we like the price or not, it seems that better prices aren't possible in this constellation.
I've pre-ordered one set, and am likely to pick up a second set at a local store when they come out.
I'm really looking forward to these figures knowing how good a job WizKids has been doing on HeroClix lately. I really hope this leads into future sets.
