We have been visited by aliens for centuries. Why do they always remain so secretive? Are they doing things they don't want us to know about, or are they afraid of what we would do with their knowledge? Or both? Now that we know about them, we have our own watchers. But why aren't they telling us what's going on?

There have always been those who were different. Reviled for their appearance or hated for their powers, they learned to hide among humanity in different ways. But regardless of appearance or ability, they are still human, and their powers help them achieve human ambitions, for better or for worse.

Rumors of global manipulation have flourished for centuries. Cloaked in secrecy and intimidation, these groups have influenced national and global history. Some, like the Spanish Inquisition, utilized groups of powerful radicals to act overtly. Others, like the Illuminati, have remained shrouded in mystery, believed in only by the lunatic fringe; their existence and purpose never conclusively proven.

It is a present just like our own, identical in every detail...except that you know the truth, and they don't like it.
