The stench of bile and sweat is thick in the air. The six of you look around you for any outward threats, but none seem apparent aside from the near constant brawls and shouting matches that always seem to end in someone incapacitated or dead. This is not so uncommon a thing here in The Salty Seadog. This particular tavern is rougher than most as most of the patrons are ex-pirates, and this being Oresk, a known haven for retired pirates, there would be little to no repercussion for the ruffians actions.

A small halfling sits with you with clear nervousness. Far too clean he seems quite out of place in such a dirty establishment. Eckhart Tomblebottem is his name and he is your stooge. An emissary from Waterdeep, here to facilitate a meeting with a rather cruel up and coming pirate who goes by the name of Rasteed.

Rasteed had recently broken the code that had held a relative peace between Waterdeeps lords and the pirates, which had been when captured, he had been bound by word to not take any sort of revenge against one of your lords. After his release though he had gathered a crew and plundered that very same lords next trade ship on its way into harbor and in doing so had taken a token that seemed very important to this lord. Important enough that you were sent out to broker a deal with the cut-throat. The return of the token for a pardon of the most recent pillage. However you were given instructions to use force if no deal could be brokered.

I do not like this place. Not one bit! Eckhart says with a look of disgust on his face. This is no place for a sage and surely these mouth breathing, swine faced, ruffians cannot help us find Rasteed. I should be back in waterdeep, I was so close to a breakthrough on the translation of those ancient elven texts, but noooo I have to be sent to trek about with you lot to make sure you dont screw this up! Eckhart goes to cleaning the sleeve of his fine robes, trying to get some of the seemingly never ending dirt out of the fabric.

This is the opening scene. Your goal in coming here is to gather information on how to find Rasteed. You have just arrived so feel free to also talk to each others characters as this is your crews first mission together so not much is known to each of you of the others.

This is where you can ask ooc questions, post that you will be having issues with future posting, and general discussion of the campaign.

Well I have recently been reading through some of my old Forgotten Realms novels and I would love to run a campaign based off the swords coast area. This is assuming there is enough interest anyway.

Character creation would be something like this. If we were to do this it would start at level 3, no summoners or guns, 20 point buy, and any race up to 15 rp. There would be no 3rd party products allowed.

As far the actual campaign goes it would kind of depend on the players interests and goals. I like to run very sandbox style games. That being said, there will most certainly be a main plot, however I like letting the players effect whats happening in any which way they want (alignment allowing).

Given all this info, what say you community?

So yeah basically Im looking for any advice on how to possibly optimize these feats ex. lowering will saves, additional abilities that I may be able to do while possessing things, and various character options.

Keep in mind that a evil synthesist summoner qualifies as a evil outsider while fused so he does in fact qualify for these feats. P.s. these feats are from pathfinder 28 counsel of thieves part 4 infernal syndrome.

Ok I have a question, since you are considered an outsider when you are bonded with your eidolon do you qualify for the possess creature, location, and item feats? Also If you dont then could your eidolon qualify by itself?

Ok so in my campaign I feel I have been pretty leinent, letting the players play slightly more powerful races, most SRD content allowed and such, but one of my players feels I have slighted him becuase after he made his gunslinger with the pistelero archtype I ruled that he doesnt add his dex to damage twice at fifth level. Now keep in mind that it doesnt say that Pistol Training replaces Firearm training but it is THE EXACT SAME THING except it is more specific to pistols. I have read several forums and though there is no errata for it, it seems as though the general consensus is that it was in fact ment to replace it, not stack thus add DOUBLE DEX DAMAGE TO PISTOLS. I just wanted to see what people here think I should do with this player as even if it was meant to stack I am still ruling that it doesnt.

Okay so I am running a PbP campaign based in Golarion and the premiss is that Asmodeus has finally carried out his plan to take over the world and now the entire world has been concurred by Devils. Asmodeus now actually walks golarion and lives in Westcrown.

Now what im having trouble with is coming up with some starting adventure ideas for the campaign. The PCs are starting at 5th level. I just wanted general cool ideas, thanks!

Ok, here is the concept im currently working through. Right now im building a holy warrior cleric (lose domains and gain full bab, d10 HD, martial wep prof.)/ holy vindicator. Im starting at level six. The reason I am playing this is because my party needed a healer something fierce because I cant seem to convince everyone to just get UMD and a damn wand. But I digress, I love playing clerics and I basically am looking for a way to not be a healbot. With Holy vindicator I will still have strong enough healing capabilities, decent casting and access to 9th level spells, heavy armor, and decent combat abilities.

My original plan was to wield a heavy shield with two hands for shield bashing/bullrushing fun. This would allow me to keep guys away from me while im trying to heal and to save one of the party members by pushing guys away from them when they are hurt. I have also considered duel wielding shields but that is too feat intensive for me and im considering taking a few channeling feats.

What im looking for is a general critique on my build concept as well as some suggestions on other wep. choices and feats.
