Have you witnessed some of these gaming faux-pas' inside of a PFS run scenario? From my personal experience, I think you will be happy with your GM as I am from a small town but still have an amazing selection of great GMs in our town (I'm one too, I'm probably the worst but I can't be that bad ...). I have never seen any of the bad stuff you are talking about and I've seen every single good thing that you talked about in a game (I have heard of a legit TPK too, and it was fair). Hopefully that gives you a bit of faith in your next GM!

I like recycling, so here is a new question to go with the same topic.

Can you use Hand of the Acolyte with Channel Smite? I'm going to assume 'no' and answer my own question, as the domain power treats your attack with a melee weapon as a ranged thrown attack and Channel Smite asks that I use the feat before I make a melee attack roll. In any case, is there a way around this or is this just a non-starter?

Sewer Dragons of Absalom

Spoiler:

While a drunken four classed wonder-PC was charming the pants off of a disguised kobold at the opera, the rogue managed to sneak in the back and disguise himself as part of the acting troupe. Unfortunately, through just lack of attention to the scenario or just some absentmindedness, he didn't realize that the Chelish play he was an extra in might have him being stabbed during the play. It was funny to have him play "odd-number out" with some NPCs (he cheated) whilest not realizing why he was doing it until the guy next to him got stabbed on stage. Pretty funny reaction from the player!

Also, I went 10 rounds as the boss at the end. Who knew illusions were so useful ...?

Night March of Kalkamedes

Spoiler:
Priest of Lamashtu jumps off the cliff with a rope tied to him, fighter tries to break the fall by grabbing the rope, gets pulled to the bottom, other fighter falls down after them, ranger tries to occupy the sleepwalker, eventually almost hangs him from the cliff. Describing it, we were all rolling around with laughter at the table. Love it when it's a skill-less party ...
