I have a player who's background involves a dealing with the Pathfinder Society. According to the background, they got a wayfinder, which is 500gp. I dropped the price to 50gp, and now I need to figure out what to do with it. My first thought was a compass and a cheap piece of glass, made to look like a wayfinder. Anyone have any thoughts?

So I've been reading a Reign of Winter thread, and they're using a cool idea called Flex Time. I'll summarize here, and maybe use it for our game. -------------------------------------------------------- "Flex Time" is a method of pbp which allows 'scenes' and 'conversations' to continue at the same point in time they started (basically), while allowing the GM to push the adventure along. To do this, the one who wishes to post using Flex Time needs to put, in OOC (out of character) text, "Flex Time - Scene being flexed" at the top of the post. Then they can just post whatever they want in the scene specified. The GM has the power to end flex time conversations at their discretion. Periodically a GM will state "All flex time conversations will be closed in the next 24 hours." This power lets the GM keep things relatively tidy in the forum and helps everyone keep things straight as to who is saying what and when they're saying it. FOR EXAMPLE Lets say Jim and I just met, and our chars are still introducing themselves, but the GM wants to post the next step in the adventure.
Jim could then reply using the same, or a similar, heading so I'd know it was our conversation he was 'flex time-responding to'. It's not mandatory to participate in or initiate Flex Time conversations, but it does come in handy and keeps the story moving forward when it might otherwise be 'paused' waiting for conversations/scenes to finish up.

Hey guys. Sorry about the campaign, and just disappearing. :( I was having such a fun time with it. Did Sebastian get the girl in the basement? I was reading the parts where I was involved, to see what kept everyone interested. Wow, did i have a lot of side plots going on.
The dark cloud hanging over the city of Riddleport is far from most people's minds as small groups congregate, and choke off passage through the wharf district. Vendors hawk their wares, charlatans ply their trade, and numerous games of luck are taking place along the sides of the street. A handful of guards are present, yet not enough to take any serious action if something got out of hand. Pulling out the flier announcing the re-opening of the Gold Goblin, you come to a building which has the look of once being the jewel of the wharf district. It's brass domes has dulled with time, some of the stained-glass windows smashed out, and a section of wall threatening to fall outward into the street. Perhaps this new tournament, 'Cheat the Devil and Take his Gold' is a sign of improvement in this run-down district. |
