Any word on if these will be available for Society play?

Thinking about cancelng my subscription fir them since they do not see the light of day usually with play.

Thanks for the usual Smartassed remark, Gorbacz. I'd never expect less from you. LOL! But some of us are trying to make every penny count in this terrible economy. So I order from Amazon to get my books at a cheaper price. Also, wouldn't it have been better to say nothing at all, than be rude?

While it might of seemed rude or put forward in a different manner it for the most part is true.

Expect items upward of two weeks to a month later from Amazon as opposed to direct from Pazio.

You get what you pay for.

You'd be surprised what some under-educated-grew-up-in-the-hills types might still say, even today. Rare, I'm sure but probably still out there. Though, I have to say. For all the backwoods redneck stereo type, I really like Darryl.

In other news: Blu-Ray/DVD release set for March 8. Price seems high for a 6 episode show, but of course I'll end up buying it anyway. At least I can gt a discount through Amazon.

Also: Frank Darabont fired the entire writing staff. Apparently the 'staff' only produced two of the six episodes. Two were done by Darabont and two more were freelance work.

I dont know about owning this series. It does seem like a steep price for 6 episodes. I myself cant shake that made for TV feeling reminds me a lot of the stand for some reason. I didn't make it past the first volume of the comics either it was kind of corny.

I guess I keep watching because I like zombie stuff. It has been way too long since anyone has done anything remarkable with the genre. I would save my money I have a feeling there will be a lot of access to this series after its over. (netflix)

$9.99 for standard definition on iTunes $14.99 for the season. Each has additional behind the scenes documentaries for each episode and a few other extras.

You won't regret it.

If the "FaceTime" chat is important to you to video chat with friends I'd wait till the first of the year to March (1st quarter?) to get one.

My 2 year old well get mine and I'll get a new one then. ;-). He was showing grandpa how to operate one the other day.

Although I probably should put parental controls on it for Family Guy Blue Harvest but in a sad way it makes me happy that he likes those so much. It made him like Star Wars.

Any ways they are great!

Conversely, if you are using a mac to sync to the ipad just go to the main iTunes library (It doesn't matter if you are looking at audiobooks, music, videos, etc.) and just drag the PDFs into iTunes. This will add the PDFs to the iBooks "library." From there you can choose to either sync the entire library or individual pieces just like you would choose how to sync music, videos, pictures, etc.

Then I grouped them with custom tags by clicking & "control" to get "get info" up. Like you would music or movies.

Love the iBooks app for organizing the PDFs.

It's been a while since I received this book as part of the subscription and I don't see it in my list of downloads.

On a similar note, the Advanced Player's Guide download is listed as (OGL). Shouldn't it be PFRPG?

I think what they are doing is all the core books are OGL because they are using that while all the additional items like the AP's, and Chronicles are from PFRPG.

Just purchased 8 more taking advantage of the Black Friday Sale to gve out as Society prizes for events I deem worthy.

Remember the "uproar" when Apple declared the floppy dead and didn't install a floppy drive in its iMac computers?

No, because Macs are such a tiny fraction of the desktop market that most people don't pay any attention to it. :)

I'm sure that was in the days before Apple perfected the business model of excluding a feature considered standard on all similar devices and making the consumer thank them for it.

Yep that is why it is hard to find a floppy disk anymore on any manufactured computer.

Plus might want to relook at your tiny fraction of computers again.

I suppose you might not be including Mac Books then yea I can see that. Of course a lot of consumers have laptops instead of actual desk tops now anyways.

Business still have desktops but there are more and more major companies switching as well.

But of course everyone has their own preferences.

I will be getting each set of dice per AP as well when they come out eventually.

No other reason for completeness.....its a bad sickness!!! But it is a fun sickness! :O)

I have yet to play/GM an Adventure Path but own them all. Pathfiner Society is where I am at and only 5 different scenarios their.

Wonder how many people are in the same boat as me. Recognize the quality work so dove in but have not been able to play alot.

Of course part of it could of been due to school and my little future gamer.

You're correct—Adobe Reader has never had the problem. Just Apple's Preview, ever since 10.6 was released.

Except when printing...it still drops the "A's".

I knew it would eventually... Just not this soon.

I did notice yesterday as well, but thought that the Inner Sea Primer was altered by Pazio didn't think Apple got around to fixing it.

Mine is listed with my December subscription order as well.

Thanks all. I might just end up converting some goblins I have on hand since I have more than I think I need from Pazio.

I was looking at the Pugwampi's as well but just do not have them on hand and not sure I'd get them in time for the 4th and get them painted up by then as well.

I like the DnD mini's but personally like metal mini's for some strange reason.

9.7 inch diagonal screen. I have a few hundred PDFs, over 2,000 songs, and about 20 some movies loaded.

PDFs load fast and are easy to use. Just about every single complaint listed above does not exist with the iPad.

Now I know there are some that complain the font problem lies with Apple. Oddly enough no other PDF from ANY other company appears to have this problem except for Paizo. I know they keep throwing their hands up saying its not our fault, and then point the finger at Apple, but I can't quite understand why they are the ONLY company that has this error, and it is Apple's problem. Seems to me that since it is their product that is malfunctioning they should want to fix the problem themselves rather than rely upon someone else fixing it. But I guess not. *shrug*

I thought somebody had issues with another game companies PDFs on here.

At any rate it is a little annoying but something I hardly notice at all anymore.

Plus I use the iBooks app for all my PDF but also have Goodreader but I find I like the iBooks app much better.

Sean

Edit: Never actually used one and not sure if I'd like the slighty smaller screen but the nook seems to have potential as well being colored.

Misfit Monster was technically Octobers shipment. Even though you might of got it in November.

But of course they'll answer you officially.

Have you read Manta's Gift - Avatar totally ripped off the idea, but instead of big blue hippies, you become giant cloud sailing mantas.

I actually remember reading they had the manuscript for Avatar in the late 90's but the technology wasn't there to be able to make the movie cost effectively.

So that book was first published in 02'?

Perosnally and this is only how I see it, that the PPP rule is pretty much null and void now.

You can join a table if you want to now with no interference. As long as you realize that you only get one chronicle for playing no matter how many times played and one chronicle for GMing no matter how many times GMed.

Of course ruining the plot for others can still get you in trouble and reported I would assume.

We'll see how Mark and Hyrum update the Society guide. I suspect though that the PPP rule well be gone especially if they are thinning the rules down. It seems like it is no longer needed. Except statements about ruining the plot as mentioned.

Once again just my opinion.

I offered to make a new character for a new faction, but the coordinator, who was very nice and very apologetic, told me because of the new rule change that I could not replay the scenario.

I believe the GM turned you away in error. Unless the table was full or you were insisting on getting a chronicle sheet.

You could have played it with your same character that you have. You just wouldn't of received a Chronicle sheet for it if I am understanding the new rules correctly.

You would of risked though death of the character with no rewards of finishing said scenario.

I am pretty sure that is what was said. There is no longer the making a table official. You can just play if there is room.

I think the prevalent opinion though is it wouldn't be any fun risking your character with death with no said rewards. Or just use a pre-gen which also seems to get a lit of "boos" on the forum boards.

Personally just playing seems like it would be fun granted with my character that I know and love. If he dies....I get to role up another character.....

Stephen Klauk wrote:

Is there any way of getting a "lite" version of the PDF made for use on ipads/e-readers (say something at 150 dpi)?

I just got an iPad and when I open the current PDF up on it, it about chokes my poor iPad's PDF reader.

Use the "iBooks" PDF reader.

When hooked up to computer to "update" drag your PDF file into the iTunes library when iTunes is open.

Then "sync" your ipad and its in your iBooks as a PDF. It has a great display showing up to 9 pages at once great for skimming the artwork. It does take the initial load a little bit to bring up all the pages but after the first time it stays up every time you go back to the screen. (Unless of course you have an updated file that you put into it like Core book 3.0 to 4.0.)

Sean

Otherworlds Kobolds, gnolls, and Giant Rats are pretty sweet. I like Pathfinder version of Goblins though.

Also Otherworlds Owlbear is nice. They also have a nice range of giants. Which are pewter now when I got them they were still resin.

I for one like the iconic. I have them painted up as close as possible to Pathfinders iconic's.

It's not really a bother if it's 3rd, the errata is easy to add in, and there's always the PDF - I'm mainly curious! *grin*

(And I can't wait to get the hard copy in my hands, if only to read while I'm out commuting.)

I have yet to see a 4th version in a local store. Its highly possible that Amazon sells through them fast enough to have the 4th but I bet you its not.

Since the 4th version was only printed or announced late August they probably still have the 3rd.

Pazio though if you were to order direct from them said your guaranteed to get the 4th version.

There's a balance to be struck here—we need to find a way to incentivize people to report, but we also can't have an incentive that's *so* strong that people are motivated to create fake game sessions just for the benefits (i.e. phoney up a few games a week, and your Adventure Path subscription is free!).

I'm sure Hyrum will come up with a good solution.

Its a shame that you guys even have to be concerned with that.....but I know things like it happen unfortunately.

I guess I did not even see reporting fake games as an option because I already am getting all of the subscriptions. Oh well I am sure a good idea of reporting well encourage people to report.

Of course it helps now that Pazio and Gencon are reported. Lead by example. Do not take that the wrong way either...its just the way it is.

I am liking it a lit so far.

Looks like it has a lot of potential.

You're right! This is absolutely great planning on their part, and I was ecstatic when I read the blog about it. But the demand for how often we play at our store is just too great for this to be enough.

What if we sanctioned Pathfinder Modules and Pathfinder Adventure Paths? Would the addition of those longer adventures help to fill in the gap for those who are so committed that they blow through the new scenarios faster than I can blink?

-Lisa

This is what I was thinking when I started reading this. I have all these Pathfinder Modules that I subscribe to but not really plan on playing.

My group up here is still to small right now to be concerned about running out of material but was thinking a chronicle being made up for the Modules line might solve some of the issues.

+1...this thread really has the feel of a heavy-handed rules-lawyering argument. I am glad that Hyrum jumped in and clarified everything, but did we really need all of this? I do not believe that anyone on these boards was about to punish a player because of the RAW. The intent is to merely have access to the original content. I don't care if that is a printed source, printed pdf, digital view, whatever or who's copy of the material is being used. It's just very disappointing that it seems there are GM's in our society that are willing to block a player's fun because of some rigid interpretation of a rule that has obvious RAI. As the saying goes, "Can't we all just get along" :-)

Just got an email so must of been taken care of if there was something wrong in the first place. Thanks!

Hello,

Seems like when the orders were updated that rather than having a late October moved to an early November it just combined it all to wait till late November.

Which I am fine with happening. It's a little odd but believe it's because I have hold for one monthly shipment. Guess the system doesn't distinguish that it out right skipped a shipment.

At any rate I am really needing my Pathfinder Tales fix!

Any way to have at least only that book shipped if it's in via cheapest rate possible. That way I could get the PDF. I don't even mind if the physical book were to wait for shipment but know that is not possible.

Of course wouldn't mind having the scheduled October release shipment shipping either even though it would be in November.
