I am working on my villain. Like you, I think it's a good writing exercise. I certainly don't have any expectations for advancing, but it would nice to get a jump on my villain concept *if* I do advance.
I've read people from many countries unite their forces in the quest for RPG Superstardom. And that's not unexpected given the global scope of this amazing contest.
So if you are participating, tell us where you're from. Maybe we can get an idea of how many people of what countries are in.
Myself, I am from Costa Rica.
So, where are you from?
I'm from the not so exotic land of North Carolina.
I was hoping I could remove "Munchkin Booty 2: Jump the Shark" from this order. I don't mind waiting for the other stuff holding up delivery, but "Jump the Shark" would mean waiting for a considerable amount of time.
Thanks!

I have canceled the item from your order and sent you a new confirmation email which should reflect the changes.
After last year's RPG Superstar, and the good advice I received, I set out to create 100 items as a writing exercise. When this year's contest was announced, I narrowed this down to 4 candidates, one of which was finally chosen and submitted today. Yes, I am in, and I hope I do better than last year. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful material from everyone in this season's RPG Superstar. Salute!
Hopefully, you can share the other 3 when the submission deadline ends. It sounds like you spent a lot of time on all 4.

This may seem like a silly question, but I'm just wondering if punctuation counts against our 200 word limit?
If it does, I'm cool with like 9 words to spare. If it doesn't I might add a final sentence to the item description.
Thanks, in advance for any help you can provide.
PS: Sorry if I missed this sort of question earlier, I skimmed and didn't notice it.
Regards,
The Minstrel Wyrm
My word processor (MSWord 2000) does not count punctuation as separate words, and I doubt the judges will count punctuation. I'd say go for that final sentence!
I can separate the data in the table by slashes or dashes, but those take my word total over 200 (at least MS Office considers them words when I do a word count check).
The judges may disagree, but I think in this case, MS Word would be right to count them. The limit is not "200 words plus a table"—any words or numbers in the table should count towards your total.
I don't think he's concerned about the words *in* the table. It's the artificial characters he has to add to make it look like a proper table that he's concerned about adding to the word count.
An author whose take on Golarion I'd like to see is China Mieville. His work would fit right in with some of the pulp/weird fantasy Pathfinder strives for.
I'm looking forward to those new monsters! Why, oh why, does it have to be nearly two weeks before we get to see them? I'm sure the extra time will make the monsters that much better.
I'm really sorry I havent been able to comment on everyone's items. There are just too many to do this all again...
I'm generally tending to respond to ones that I recalled having interesting discussion. The ones we just generically passed over I havent responded to. Of course, that doesnt mean the item was bad. Like most, it was probably a fine item that simply didnt stand out enough.
That is good feedback in and of itself. I think that fits my item. Thanks!
Flavor text is cool, but it does WAY too much damage. 15d6, auto-destroy, 12d6, or nothing is extreme. Kobolds are sensitive to sunlight. Why would this do 12d6 to them? If it's just that bright, it should do damage to everyone, not just groups that oppose PCs.
I'd recommend toning down the damage and removing the auto-kill feature. This should bring the cost down as well.
Thanks for the critique! I was worried that I stuck too closely to the sunburst spell description.
When you get a chance, I'd like a critique of my item. I appreciate all the time and effort you've gone to in order to provide direct input on everyone's item (mine included).
Spoiler:
Tears of the Sun
When the first undead creatures appeared on Golarion, Serenrae wept. Her tears fell to Golarion as bright crystals and became potent weapons against the powers of darkness. After Serenrae’s worshippers used the tears to combat the undead blight, they created, and still create to this day, lesser copies.
When carried or worn (taking the amulet slot), a tear continuously emits light as the daylight spell. When the possessor of a tear needs to, she can throw the fragile crystal as a grenade-like weapon. On impact, the tear shatters releasing a sphere of searing light with an 80-foot radius. Undead creatures, fungi, mold, oozes and slimes take 15d6 points of damage (Reflex DC 22 half). If the creature is specifically harmed by sunlight and the save fails, the creature is destroyed. Other creatures sensitive to sunlight take 12d6 points of damage (Reflex DC 22 half). No other creatures take damage from the burst, but any failing the DC 22 Reflex save are blinded.
I'd like to add my congratulations, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing the awesome ideas all of you come up with for your countries. I'm kinda glad I don't have to create one.
I'll throw mine in here for some critiquing. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm going to say that flaw #1 on my item was stupid name. maybe not the only one, but the top one. My group liked the item itself, but hated the name. Hell, I even hated the name. But I just couldn't come up with anything better than Portable Portal for an item that creates a door.
I like the name, but I'm a fan of alliteration.
I found out my item, Tears of the Sun, used the same name as a forgettable Bruce Willis movie from 2003 (Here's the link--if you're interested).
There are a lot of great items here, and I can see why I didn't make the cut. I'm pretty sure I made one of those technically sound but boring items. Let me know what you think:
