Me too. It can't be any worse than playing nursemaid to a kid who was under psychiatric watch for threatening to shoot his school up. Since they broke the story I can say that's how I spent last weekend. Talk about high alert ...

O_o

Glad they stopped him before he could carry out his plan.

See what you started?
I've created a monster!

It's almost like I haven't missed 900 posts.

It did. I had a good time and talked to quite a few people I only ever talk to online.

I like the show, young Bruch was okay but is now getting annoying. I love Penguin and Bullock.

You seem familiar.

Got an offer for significant (and time-sensitive) work based on another author's recommendation from work I did on an associated bestiary.

I realize I'm vagueposting, but it's too exciting not to share somewhere. :)

RPG Superstar 2012

I worked on a project where I designed nifty NPC classes (niftier than the existing ones, at any rate), but it's kind of in limbo.

RPG Superstar 2012

I also happen to agree that NPC classes can be spiced up and keep them behind PC classes power-wise.

Nah. I didn't think you were trying to offend.

Hmmm......... so need a bit of advice. The situation is the PCs are in a city that has just been besieged and is currently basically destroyed, and full of demons and baddies and we just had PC death. I am going to encounter the new PC in the road just finishing a fight. ( the next encounter is slightly tough and the PCs are battered). Is it fair to have the new PC roll a % dice to see what health they are at as they have been in the fight for the city?

I'd recommend using a range of, say, 30-80 (since the assumption is that the new PC has taken some damage, but you don't want the PC to be at death's door). Then you can roll a 10d6 and add it to 20 (or 1d6, multiplied by 10, and added to 20).

Urgh. Time to go to work. I'll likely check in at some point. I'm going to work on keeping my creaky PbPs revitalized. That and stop telling myself I'm no good at stats and rules. It's simple, I just need to believe I can do it

Later folks

*blink*

I imagine the experience you've had running games makes you pretty good at stats and rules. Plus, actually doing it makes you better at doing it.

Or so I've heard. :)

I'll post over there again. This week got away from me. :S

That might work out pretty well, looking at the features. Note that CH is also going rogue.

You can never have too many rogue-types. :)

I'll finish up my character tonight/tomorrow and have it ready for review.

Many thanks to Taig, Amby, and FGP for this most unexpected Badgermas gift. Did I qualify for the same prize twice by virtue of position and numeric roll? Looks like fate!

Special Christmas cheer to the lovely DSXmachina for generously entering me. Here I was afraid my mind was going.

Thanks to you all, and a Merry Christmas to everyone.

Maybe you can talk Forest Guardian into letting you gift the duplicate prize to someone else. :)

Thanks for contributing to the holiday spirit Mike!

We didn't get a chance to give away any Rusted Iron Games PDFs during the contest, so anyone who PMs me their email address between now and midnight (mountain time, so the next 4 hours or so) is likely to find Santa left a little something in their digital stocking.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Cool! Thanks!

Thank you, everyone, for participating! I had a lot of fun with this giveaway, and I hope you did too. I sent off PM's to those who didn't receive any prizes, so I can give you a small consolation prize (I truly wish I could give PDFs to everyone who joined in).

Thanks to terraleon, Isuru, and Ambrosia Slaad, who swooped in to offer prizes. It warmed my badger heart to get some help with this, and I very much appreciate the generosity on display.

Thanks also to all the third-party publishers who dove in with prize support of their own: Flaming Crab, Legendary Games, Forest Guardian, Purple Duck Games, Rusted Iron Games, Rogue Genius Games, and Pyromaniac Press! I hope you all check out their offerings.

If you did receive a prize, please consider leaving a review for the PDF you received. Reviews help third-party publishers immensely.

Thanks again! I'm looking forward to doing this again next year.
