I know that spirits and outsiders are not the same thing, but I think that some of the Devil Binders in Cheliax would be actual binders.
Rahadoum might vary by how prevalent you make binding. The books (specifically the Rahadoumi NPC in the NPC guide) indicate that non-divine magic like Bardic healing is acceptable. As long as Binder were well-known and recognized as distinct from divine magic, they would be welcomed. If they were very rare, however, they would likely be distrusted.
I ran my first Beginner Box demonstration/session last night, and despite a wide range of familiarity, all five players created new characters in less than an hour. (The major slowing factor was that we had only one copy of the Hero's Handbook to pass around.) We had one player who had never played any tabletop game before, and the store clerk helpfully pointed her to our table. Even with only one book floating around, character creation was smooth, and gameplay was fast, even with folks learning their abilities for the first time.
Thanks, Paizo, for creating a product that really can be played right out of the box!

Wayne Reynolds can make me like anything.
I think the Ouliphaunt (sp?) is considered an epic beast, but I would like some more background on it.
I love Groetus. He does not return my affection.
I'm excited by these! Way to go, Paizo and Wizkids!
On the repaint front, do you think maybe we can get a "Antipaladin Seelah" like the one from the Gamemastery Guide?
James Jacobs wrote: I suspect that they MIGHT indirectly result in APs not getting to as high level, though... As much as I like the NPC and Magic Item articles, I like the high level adventures more. I hope you continue to make room for them if this is the case!
I got a single brick. No duplicates to report.
5Â Â Orc Brute
6Â Â Orc Warrior
8Â Â Watch Guard
10Â Â Lizardfolk Champion
11Â Â Zombie
12Â Â Giant Spider
13Â Â Wolf
16Â Â Human Rogue
17Â Â Human Ranger
19Â Â Half-Elf Cleric
20Â Â Dwarf Fighter
22Â Â Gnome Fighter
23Â Â Dire Rat
26Â Â Spectre
28Â Â Werewolf
29Â Â Medusa
30Â Â Minotaur
33Â Â Ettin
35Â Â Manticore
39Â Â Lich
I tracked the figures as I opened them. The three things that stood out were a) there were no rares in the front row left; b) no commons in the second row right; and c) the ultra rare lich was in the second row, third from left.
In terms of figure quality, I'm very pleased with sculpts and paints of the set, with only the zombie's color looking a little lackluster. Even the wolf, with approximately six pin-drops of paint to his name, looked better.
So, as of this week, the Dragon Empire have their own gazeteer, primer, as well as a handful of PFS scenarios and adventure path modules. I know Paizo doesn't want to overreach into one particular setting, but I feel confident that sales will justify further material.
What will it be? More modules/scenarios? Almost definitely. But how about...
The Guide to Goka?
Book of the Damned vol. 4: Oni?
Elemental Magic of Golarion?
Or dare I say...
The Dragon Empires Campaign Setting Hardcover?
I would like to run an adventure set in the Sky City of Shanguang. Are there any existing modules that take place in such setting, be it Pathfinder or 3.5 rules?
I've earmarked Lost Cities of Golarion and Sky Captain's Guide, but I'm looking for encounters to use, as well.
I'd like to see some setting support for books like the APG, UC, and UM. Since those books are setting neutral, it would be cool to see how the new classes are perceived in the setting, especially since so many setting-based companions (Taldor, Andoren, Qadira) came out before the player's options books.
The "Faith" series had some of this, touching on inquisitors and antipaladins, but it would be great to see something like "Summoner of Golarion" although that might be too specific.
Optimal product!
This is very cool! This is a very simple idea that demonstrates how Paizo is always looking to make gaming better and give the players more options.
This is an extension of "less feats" but armor proficiencies are essentially class features now. Either your class can use a certain armor or it cannot.
Important thing I've learned from the preview:
Italics are magic.
Since they just announced a 64 page campaign book and Magnimar-based adventure path, I'm officially sated.
I am really excited about this, especially the encounter packs. I'm glad that paizo is trying so hard to release non-blind minis in addition to the random, even though the market is actually better for random minis. Way to go, Paizo!

I always suggest to my players that they get a dagger for backup. It's the best weapon that literally every character can use. It's cheap. It's light. It has two damage types. It crits on a 19.
I had something to add to this subject, but a giant teddy bear just informed me I was "NOT TO TALK! NOT TO TALK!"
in a recent interview with Giant Fire Breathing Robot, Erik Mona made a passing reference to a big announcement at Gen Con.
Let the rumors begin! I'm guessing they're announcing a high-level module that breaks the 32-page format, something like Red Hand of Doom.
labyrinthian and Jim Mount - we might have some openings in a Kingmaker game starting soon. contact me at tmzeit@gmail.com
Absalom Afternoons.
That's what happens to four tabletop players in "Defenders: From the Marvel Vault," which was released in finer comic shops today.
Possibly a smurf.
In these uncertain times, it is very important to have a Kobold as your avatar.
I re-downloaded the file and it now has both parts (as seperate pdfs, as jeremy said.)
The newest update seems to be missing all the psychometabolism material.
In all seriousness, is there a story reason for this? Because it seems like a creature this powerful who is worshipped as a god would grant spells.

The idea of the BB is that once you're familiar with using it, it's not a big jump to adapt full-game content for it. So if a full-game adventure talks about making AOOs in an encounter, a person just using the BB knows to ignore that (because the BB doesn't have rules for AOOs).
So, while the BB and Bestiary monster stat blocks don't look exactly the same, they still have entries for initiative, melee attack, saving throws, and so on.
Wait, so the Beginner Box just gets rid of the rules I don't understand anyway?
Smurf it, I'm just running Pathfinder Beginner Box for all my games now. My players will never know the difference.
Excellent. Finally my Riddleport campaign has somewhere to go.
Following up on the discussion of various religions, is the Dragon Empire's cosmology essentially the same? I noticed that Ultimate Magic included the five element wheel (wood, water, fire, metal, and earth) and I was curious if the other side of the world expanded on that in any way.
The entire regiment of Kobold Paladins scream in frustration!* As if it wasn't hard enough to be taken seriously!
What is the ratinale for this decision? Is this a deliberate choice on the All-Dragon's part? Or is something more sinister afoot? Is Apsu not the divine figure it claims to be?
*both of them

monk 2 levels unarmored acbonus, a nice backup weapon (unarmed), evasion, and a few feats for free
barb 2 fast movement, rage, rage power
I would like to echo this post. These three classes stand out for me because, even if you only take a single level in any of these, you get an ability that is very hard to find in other classes. (Barb's rage and fast movement, Monk AC bonus, and the holy grail of Rogue trapfinding.)
I think Barbarian inches ahead of the other two with the superior weapons, attack, and hit die.
I would be really surprised if we didn't have an Irrisen AP by 2013.
James -
I am trying to put together a Kingmaker campaign. I'm on the north side (Roscoe Village/North Center). I will let you know if things become more solid.
Does the inclusion of the new player races mean that the traditional races (elf/dwarf/halfling) are much less common on these continents?
I replaced all references to Lovecraft and the Great Old Ones with references to Doctor Doom. My game, my rules.
Are there any plans to do more material on Magnimar, perhaps a module? Kaer Maga, Korvosa, and even Sandpoint have gotten plenty of love, but Magnimar has only seen one article, printed in the nascent days of the company. I would love to know if anyone has anything in mind for this region.
Excellent. Thanks!
Has anyone picked up this book? Does it require M&M to play, or is it self-contained?

What kind of additional support would you like? Some ideas we've been kicking around:
- High level NPCs (so your group can go beyond the 6th adventure, all the way to 20th level),
- Average NPCs (shop keepers, random adventuring parties, diplomats, basic citizens),
- Pre-stated encounters with maps (assassination attempts, owlbear attacks, etc),
- More monsters (monsters of the river nations 2),
- Advice on how to draw your own map (so you can use the rules for different locations/environments)
- Pre-stated towns and villages (for your PCs to take over, etc)
- Details for additional nations Pitax, Brevoy and Drelev aren't the only nations around, there's one just past the greenbelt that they can interact with.
- cultists of the hag goddess and rapierlords details. Additional setting details that you may want to incorporate into your game.
Just about everything outside of monsters* sounds good, especially the NPCs and pre-stated towns/encounters.
*Monster books are a dime a dozen, but no one ever seems to publish an NPC book.
Cee Lo Green says "Smurf You."
At what point is a dungeon too much for your players?
I've encountered two in my preparation as a DM; the Golden City of Death, where Players have less than three days to fight their way to the center, retrieve the amulet and escape before, in all likelihood, drowning or overheating; and Armag's Tomb (Kingmaker part 4), where an ingenious use of Guards and Wards makes exploration tedious at best.
In both of these scenarios, the players are chasing down an NPC. My thinking, if I encountered these dungeons as a player, would be to wait outside and see if the NPC survives, rather than deal with the frustration.
Maybe I'm not giving my players enough credit, although I don't know if they're meticulous enough for Armag's Tomb, in particular, so I ask people who have played these modules for their reactions. More broadly, have you ever run your players through a dungeon where they threw up their hands and said "No treasure is worth this?"
+1 to "They've served their purpose." I liked them, but I like the expanded adventure more.
Installing Adobe 9 worked. Thanks, Vic!
I have downloaded Crypt of the Everflame multiple times on two separate machines, but each time I open it there is a message saying "cannot extract the embedded font 'IFMSCF+PrioriSansOT-Bold.' Some characters may not display or print correctly." Unofrtunately the majority of the pdf uses this font.
Both machines were running Windows OS with Adobe Reader 7.
I have downloaded Crypt of the Everflame several times on different machines, and each time Adobe Reader says "cannot extract the embedded font 'IFMSCF+PrioriSansOT-Bold.'" Unfortunately the majority of the PDF seems to use this font, making the adventure unusuable.
Both machines I used ran windows OS and Adobe Reader 7.
reading the background article on Brevoy, I was reminded of the two things that really stuck out from the campaign setting.
-The entire ruling family disappeared, and in recent memory, too. Basically any PC would have been alive during that event.
-A giant tower went into lockdown at the same time. No one has been seen since.
I'm wondering if they're might be anything from Kingmake that touches on these events, or if these are long-standing "plot threads" for the campaign setting that DMs can expand as they please. I ask because I know my players, and any mention of a fortress would have them running off immediately. (See the number of people clamoring for Viperwall levels.)
You know, it looks fine on the full-size picture, but that barbarian's fur just looks inappropriate at thumbnail size.
